Mazel Tov restaurant and bar opened at the end of July 2014 as a place with a real Mediterranean feel, which we want to preserve regardless of the season, with an open garden in summer and a heated garden in winter. Since its establishment, the aim of the Mazel Tov has been to create an open-minded, gastronomically and culturally determined, relaxed atmosphere,where everyone who wants to come in to relax, experience cultural or culinary delights or drinks with friend is welcome.

Atmosphere fantastic and great music. Wine delicious and food very much dependent on what you order as some dishes were hit and miss and others absolutely amazing! Some staff incredibly friendly whilst others a little less so. Only thing was I made a special request as it was my moms birthday, I.e just plate the dessert with a “happy birthday” or even if one of the staff wished her etc as I prebooked a month and a half in advance - but it didn’t register to anyone so that was a little disappointing.

Congratulations are due to Mazel Tov for employing someone who is quite possibly one of the rudest waitresses we’ve ever encountered. We had booked ahead for dinner on 14th September at 7:30pm. We arrived a little early and were seated quickly enough. We were excited to be here after reading the reviews and our daughter had enjoyed dinner here a few months before, recommending it to us. Having been left alone for a while, our waitress came and took our drinks order. I’ve no idea what happened next but, having read that the staff were happy make recommendations and suggestions, we asked her for some guidance. I mentioned the dish just served to the ladies on the next table, wanting to know what it was. Our waitress proceeded to look at us with such an awful sneer. In a voice dripping with contempt, she said “Well, how hungry are you? I don’t know if you want a starter and main...” It wasn’t so much what she said but how. We were made to feel as if we’d committed an awful act. She didn’t even wait for our response so we chose to leave and told the staff at the front desk. They seemed sorry but then the same waitress appeared and seemed totally unperplexed by our departure. To be made to feel so bad is just wrong. We’d so looked forward to this place and it was one of the biggest disappointments we’ve ever had when eating out. No doubt Mazel Tov will not care or respond. They’re always busy so why should they care about some guests that one of their staff had treated like dirt.

The "Mazel Tov" is a cool place with live music / DJ and good food. Depending on where you sit, it can be a bit chilly as you are virtually sitting outside. The service is ok, but not great, the size of the portions is rather small.

Our fav restaurant in Budapest. Great, relaxed, modern feel. The food selection is vegetarian friendly. We had a mixture of starters; halloumi, felaffel, hummus. All of it very well made. Great selection of drinks and awesome service. Wise to book ahead.

We would have ordered more food but the waiter didn't look at our table for like half an hour.. A few years ago I had a better experience, with better price/quality ratio and smily and attentive service. The live music was nice but quite loud so we could not always hear each other.

Ordered from the chef’s offer menu and did not disappoint! Loved the grilled cod and drinks. Accidentally spilled the drinks on the food and the waiter kindly exchanged the whole plate. Lived to the hype :D

We booked Mozel Tov for our first wedding anniversary dinner. They gave us a really good table, in the middle of the restaurant and by the live band. They also welcomed us with a bit of Prosecco, and throughout the whole night, our waiter was checking in. Whenever we are in Budapest, we will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely setting. Reservation was beyond necessary. Not sure if they were a little understaffed or what but our waiter wasn’t around as much as I’d like and it took about 15 min to get our drinks. The food was fantastic. Would really recommend despite the slightly less than service.

Overall we had a good time. Although the food wasn’t very good, it was more on the bitter side, which wasn’t very pleasant for us. The service was good, the staff nice and professional, although they took a very long time to get our drinks, we were already half way eating our food when they arrived. The restaurant is gorgeous, and vibe and decoration makes it worth to visit, however not sure to comeback.
