My birthday celebration was a success thank specially to Seth, our server.
We came for drinks before a Father’s Day meal. Everything was overall great, but we came with the expectation of having more items on the food menu. Maybe it should be a little more obvious that it’s more a hang out and have drinks sorta bar, or maybe we missed the memo.
Amazing service and incredible views! Can’t wait to go back.
It was a great location. Food better than average. View is great. Staff is friendly but service was not good. music was too loud to have any kind of conversation on the patio.
Everything was excellent
Stunning views and energetic vibe on the rooftop overlooking Lake Union. The menu had very few options but they were tasty. Unfortunately my companion's chicken skewers weren't fully cooked. The server was great and had them remake it for us while removing the charge from our bill. The pita bread and hummus were amazing. The service was great. They offered us toasty blankets so that we could stay warm while enjoying the view. I would definitely try it again.
Pros: food was absolutely amazing, fresh, unique and simple! The view is stunning. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and had great, natural timing.
Cons: ambiance (at the bottom and the transitional spaces), hostesses/other staff
It was a very fun, almost secretive/prohibition feel with the 2 floors. A little sterile “derelicte”/industrial for my taste at the bottom and elevator (hanging bubble wrap...?) but still very exciting!
Both asparagus dishes, the pea salad, and the trout were all delicious. The halibut was hands down the best though. Wrapped in grape leaves with raisins and herbs. The Pinot noir glass was perfect with all dishes.
We were not greeted promptly by either hostesses (one at the bottom and one at the top), the top hostess also got distracted by another coworker so we sat ourselves (luckily our friends had arrived earlier). I would be fired if my managers in the service industry witnessed me doing the same thing.
Food was Excellent. Service was lacking in training and in numbers. For starters we waited in a very long line before we were greeted by the hostess who checked names and walked every party to the elevator before returning to the very long line to check another name off...you get the picture this was excruciating to watch and to wait in a line that was created by the inefficiency of the hostess. We had dinner reservations inside yet everyone else was going to the bar outside. Finally up the elevator we were greeted by two hostesses and were the only party to be seated inside the restaurant. Once seated, we waited for our waiter, who was also the the bartender / wine steward? We waited to order drinks, waited for our drinks while they sat on the bar ice melting. Waited to order food , waited for water throughout dinner... Waited for another round of drinks. I must mention our waiter was very nice but was overwhelmed. Wanting to go back for the food because it was so good but not wanting to have the annoying experience play out again.
Overall we had a good experience dining at mbar. Definitely make a reservation! It was busy and there was a line when we got there. Drink service was slow and our server did not come as often as we would have liked but the food came out quick and was delicious. We had the chicken with yogurt and pita bread. It was delicious and a good snack for two people. Enjoyable experience with a stunning view. Would definitely recommend.
We bit pretentious but food was great and the wait staff didn't hover but was attentive, had our food in a reasonable time , overall would go again if in town
One of my favourite rooftops in the city!
If you are looking for great drinks with a view this is the place!
If your seeking even good food, a conversation, comfortable seating or expect decent service this is not the place.
I will not be back...
The view is always spectacular. Apart from that, everything else was very disappointing. The food was ordinary as were our drinks, and the music was so loud you had to literally yell in order for your partner to hear you speak. This was my third visit, apart from recommending the location for its views, I would not recommend the bar for anything else.
We had our first night in Seattle in MBar and it was just so good! Gorgeous bar, delicious food and amazing service. The bar had stunning views of Seattle and toasty fire pits outside. We chose sit at the bar to eat which was a great move because the bar tender was awesome, she was so friendly and gave us loads of tips. X
great view but food??? worst pasta and food. server was nice and Great place to drinking with ocean view but not for meal.
Server ignored our table for 15+ minutes. Food was good, but they ran out of most beers and didn't do enough to make up for the overpriced food and poor service.
We had a good time, food was great but it was crowded and servers were busy, so service was a little slow but understandable. I would recommend to anyone! Great place!
Beautiful, trendy place with great happy hour (including good deals on food), but it was so loud we had to scream over the music to have a conversation. Sit on the amazing outdoor patio to see the view and be seen, but not to talk or have in depth conversation.
Loved it! Great food and drinks, and happy hour all day Sunday and Monday is wonderful
View was great but food menu was overpriced. Charcuterie plate was very disappointing. Tasteless crackers with paper thin slices of meat and butter as a replacement of cheese. Not impressed.
Great spot. Outdoor bar with live DJ gives a nice city vibe. Feels like you’re in Williamsburg, Brooklyn!!
Love Mbar and the views / tune / vibe is beyond amazing. Really great cocktails, nothing crazy for the price considering the gorgeous atmosphere. Service can be lava slow, but all the staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Lovely view. Had the trout and halibut. Trout was good, Halibut was over cooked. Lots of oil on both dishes. Pricey for what there was.
Slow service, not responsive very quickly to us wanting to be moved from small uncomfortable chairs by the fire to a table we had reserved more than 1 week in advance. Was quite loud and overpriced.
Best place in Seattle for small and medium size events
Over this weekend we had a very successful birthday party at mBar’s outside terrace attended by around 50 guests. We could not have hoped for a better location, a most enjoyable atmosphere, amazing owners, and fantastic staff and Chef. The 270 degree view from the terrace is unique with the Space Needle and Lake Union up close. Food was prefect and in generous quantities, and the DJ so entertaining that guests would not want to leave that evening. We danced and had great fun and we cannot imagine a better place for such events in the area. Thank you mBar!
The music was so excessively loud (I wouldn't call it "energetic" as forced to select up above) for a chill Sunday afternoon it nearly blew us off the rooftop. But before it could, the terrible service sent us out the door.
I was there once before for happy hour. I don't recall the music being crazy loud. I do remember the service being "ok" at best. Drinks and food are overpriced for what it is and how much you get.
Awesome place. Is a must go to restaurant. Everything was awesome.
Stunning from service to view to food!
Amazing food. Turley one of the better places I have ate at in Seattle in a while. The only downfall this the wine list was not impressive by the glass or by the bottle. I usually buy a bottle none of the bottles on there list where worth the cost.
A friend and I went to Mbar for my birthday and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is upscale and well defined w/o being pretentious. The service was impeccable and all the wait staff were super friendly. Both my friend and I were very pleased with our food and kept talking about how good it was even after we left.
I have also been here for cocktails and medium sized company events. Each time I've been it's the same great story, amazing service with something seasonally new to try.
I would highly recommend and will be going back often.
Such a cute place In downtown Seattle - downtown has been missing a place like this!!!
Great date night
We always enjoy this place so much! Seth, Ani, Tim and Kat are the absolute best!!
The food was a bit too exotic for us coming from Texas. Lots of words we did not recognize.
Great food, ambience and service!!!
M Bar has become one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. A view of art or skyline in all directions. Food that is both spectacular and comforting. A staff that really cares about food, drink, and service.
We go here every singe time we are in Seattle, it has a jaw-dropping view and the food is absolutely spectacular. I consider this and their sister restaurant, Mamnoon, among there very best dining experiences in Seattle. Do not miss either one.
Service was horrible, took 20 minutes to get a drink. Watched as my glass of champagne sat on the bar for 5 minutes. Overpriced food. I used to really love this place and now it was a painful experience.
Trout was out of his world!
Our first time dining at MBar. We made reservations at the recommendation of a friend. Overall, we had a very positive experience. Dishes are expertly prepared and artistically served. The trout was excellent as were the collard greens. The outdoor space looked great. We plan to return in warm weather to take advantage the exceptional rooftop deck.
