The octopus was amazing, the trout was fantastic and the view is unparalleled!
Loved the view, the food was really disappointing though. $60 for a steak was a little extreme, especially because there were only like four options to choose from on the menu. My friends and I would go back for Happy Hour, but not to dine. Great place and atmosphere but please get a better menu!!!!
Our server was a lot of fun and the bar tenders were very accommodating.
Incredible views with great service! Or server her name was Kendra! We had the trout there was not a bone to be found and it was absolutely delicious! Avocado and caramelized onion and other ingredients that just made it melt-in-your-mouth!
If you are looking for a great view of downtown with good food and fantastic drinks it is hard to beat Mbar
Great time again!! Food is awesome and great Hand Crafted Cocktails, servers are very nice! Love this place:))
Favorite spot in Seattle! Beautiful views and lovely rooftop patio during the summer 👌
As we arrived on the 14th floor and entered onto the sunny deck, looked around for someone to tell us if we could sit, didn't see anyone so we sat down at a table to grab a drink before our dinner reservation. It kind of felt like we had done something wrong, as the waitress didn't say welcome, wasn't very friendly, just arrived, didn't speak and sort of threw down water glasses in front of us. Then we had our $15 drinks in plastic cups (those made for picnics etc) and when we were approaching our dinner time, we asked for the check and went inside, and as we crossed the dining room (the maitre'd maybe....hard to know as he was young and wearing shorts)...but he sort of yelled across the dining room, "Did you cash out in the bar..." which was odd, "yes of course" we answered, but even if we had not, he could have discovered that quietly and walked over to our table and told us our drink tab needed to be closed out...Not the worst by far, but just felt less than appropriate for a place where 4 people spent over $600 for dinner and drinks. The food and table service overall was great, the $40 pork was just ok, not truly worth it, not that it was small or bad, it was really large, but just I have had a lot better for a lot less and the price was high. I will try Mbar again at some point, this was only my 2nd time, and I will reserve final judgement and see how it goes next time.
Mbar was fantastic! Every selection we made came out perfect and tasty. The wine selection was wonderful with a broad variety. The menu is not large but the quality of the meals makes up for it. The views were stunning!
Everything was great until my friend showed up. He never was serviced for 20 minutes. And then once he was, they forgot to put the order in etc etc. Before we got there we truly had an amazing experience. Was just embarasssed for you guys to my friend cause it couldn’t of passed as a good experience for him.
mBar is a fun place but the food is too expensive.
It was awesome! Although the waiter were a bit grumpy.
The server was rude and brought raw steak when we asked for one to be medium well and the other medium and they arrived sliced so she could see as well as we could that they were very rare. My beet app was brought after my main dish. The cocktails were undrinkable. And we were freezing sitting by the window. The view was great but I was embarrassed having taken my out of town gifts there and spending $300 for poor food and service. Maybe if we had sat outside and only had wine it would have been ok.
Amazing view. Great ambience. Delicious food with beautiful presentations.
Only con, outrageous prices!! Unfortunately this might limit many from going back!!
The place is amazing. Perfect spot for dates, anniversaries, birthdays, get together and other special occasions. Also has an astonishing view of the city of Seattle (day and night) that makes the place more attractive. The food are very delicious, especially the flat iron steak with red wine (loved it). Definitely will come back!!
Great food, great view.
Love this place! The views. Service was a bit off until Sassy came on-she was amazing.
It was a nice view of Seattle. Not many food options and drinks were okay. Service was average at best somewhat snobbish staff.
It was my birthday.
We went to MBar to celebrate an anniversary with a few friends. Our server was wonderful and the drinks were great. We sat out on the Patio to take in the view and scene. Music was a bit too lound and the food is not as good as the restaurant. I think the food menu needs to be thought out again. We love the food at Mamnoon, the sister resturant, which is always consistant. Octopus dish was cold and the texture and seasoning could have been better. Lamb riblets were delish. Dessert was very good. Our server even brought us a special bowl of the chlled cherries and chocolate dessert with a candle for our anniversary. Our server made our evening. He had great drink suggestions and was attentive and personable.
I was really excited to try this restaurant out, but it ended up being kind of a let down. We were seated without enough menus for our party of four. Mentioned in the reservation that we were there for a special occasion. (Birthday) and nothing was ever acknowledged or asked about, while our neighbors were brought birthday dessert.
The food was decent but a bit over priced for what it was. The service was so so. You’re paying for the view.
Don’t feel like I need to go back. Experienced it once- that’s enough.
Location, décor and food was excellent. The negative was the poor management oversight and training of the staff. The waitress poured the customary taste of the newly opened wine bottle and promptly disappeared. Normally you confirm the wine is good and your glasses are filled. Next time around she hastily poured a glass of wine withdrawing the bottle before letting it get upright and spilled the wine on the table and my wife's clothes. Doesn't the management teach the staff how to attend a customer and properly serve and pour wine? While the food was very good, the timing was way off and both my appetizer and main plates arrived long after my wife had finished hers. These are details the management should be on top of.
Meeting up with a friend
Really nice views of the city, but you can only order food from the bar menu if seated outside. You must have reservations!
Very small portions, pricey. I left hungry, but it's mostly a place for great views.
They made a mistake with our reservation because another person with the same first name had another reservation. So they had to seat us at another table. Then they asked us to move. Not a big deal, but now I’m being told by open table that we didn’t show up for our reservation? Strange. It just happen all the time, that people have the same first name.
I had the most amazing birthday ever.
Especially coming from France and had a really special service [thank you Seth 🙌🏻], creative cocktails, great menu, wonderful deserts !
And above all one of the best view of Seattle 💘
Mbar is the place to be !
They may have had an off night. It was a full 30 minutes before anyone took our drink order and then one dish arrived prior to drinks (so nearly an hour before drinks actually came). The rest of the meal arrived in stages but we decided to share and make the best of it. Ultimately, they comped our drinks and a dish without our having to even say anything about how late it all was. It’s a busy restaurant, very happening, good quality food and OK wine by the glass (they could do better to feature local wine). Make a reservation or forget it!
It's hard to give this place a review. At a high-level, it's wildly inconsistent. The way to get up is quite a bit pretentious, which I wouldn't mind if the rest of the restaurant actually executed on the experience it set out to have. The elevator leads to a corridor that doesn't have very much in it and is very warehouse-like. Kind of weird in my mind.
We had a reservation on the patio because it was a nutty booza ice cream social. The view is obviously beautiful, and I love the tables and setup of the rooftop. Our server was quite friendly and had a great demeanor. The food was good, too - loved the halloumi and the although the spot prawns could have used some additional accoutrements on the side, they were good too. Liked the nutty booza drinks too.
The trouble came when we asked for the check. They gave us the wrong check and unfortunately the other table had already paid and left. I kid you not we probably waited 15 minutes to get a new check - we finished a drink that was halfway done, sat around, and then stood up because we were waiting for what seemed like way too long. And no small gesture for something that we didn't do.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to friends. I have a hard time saying that because I love the other places they own - Mamnoon and Mamnoon Street. But this place is ridiculously inconsistent, and I'm shocked at what the service is like at this bar given my great experiences at the other places. The number one thing I value at a restaurant is good food, but the next thing I value is a good experience that doesn't keep me guessing in a bad way. I thought the mediocre reviews were just a fluke but now that I've experienced it for myself, I have to agree.
The hostess offered to move us outside without telling us it was communal seating or a different menu. The food took 40 minutes to arrive. The patio is lovely but the music is so loud we had to shout at each other.
We made reservations weeks before our dinner for six people on the patio. I even called after making the reservation to confirm we were set for our dinner. They gave us a table that was really only big enough for four people. When we complained they said they’d look for a bigger table but the hostess never followed up with us so we just stayed at the small table.
We were surprised to learn there wasn’t a full menu on the patio - this wasn’t mentioned when I called to confirm our reservation. Not the end of the world though.
The entrees were ok - but they were served rather carelessly. Two of our party ordered the exact same entree - one of the entrees was clearly double the size of the other entree. When we pointed this out we were told they were the same weight. This was clearly not the case. Overall a disappointing experience.
Reserving a table on the rooftop deck is such a fun way to experience Seattle! Next time I'll know to ask for a standard table or bar table on the deck, and request not to be seated at patio furniture next to a coffee table (I didn't want to eat food from my lap) but luckily they were able to move us to a different table once we were seated! Food was very slow to arrive (about 90 minutes for some menu items we ordered), and some never did arrive and had to be re-ordered about 2 hours into dinner. We didn't mind too much, because our server was hilarious and had diligently warned us the kitchen was backed up, the food is really wonderful and our group of 5 was having a great time and enjoying the view.
The food was badly flavored and way to expensive for what it was. The view was amazing and the drinks were fine. I was surprised that all the glasses were actually plastic.
while they have a lot of rules and restrictions to get in the place and get a table, they still let too many people in and therefor the atmosphere and service suffer.
With a gorgeous view and some tasty dishes, mbar is a must!
Reservation was for the outside patio. View was amazing with lots of seating. However, the menu for outside is mostly small plates and we wanted a more substantial fare. We asked the staff if it was possible to change seating to inside. They were very gracious and accommodated our request even though the restaurant was busy. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Food was great.
Great food and view
While this is great fun to go to service was very very slow. Frozen cherries for desert were only cherries in cold water.
The service was good and very warm.
The bartender made a special cocktail for my wife when she couldn't find something suitable in the drinks list.
Some people get a nice view.
The food feels like the chef went into a middle eastern grocery store but then didn't know what to do with ingredients.
The seating is problematic - most rooftop seats don't have a view and the noise levels that day were so high we asked to move inside.
Prices are high, food amounts are small, bad value for money.
I'd go there for a beer, nothing more.
Didn’t know this going in, but if you sit on the patio, you can’t order off of the full menu. We got a couple appetizers that come with pita bread. They brought the 2 appetizer plates and a third plate with some extra pita which made sense since there was a lot of sauce and not much pita. At the end of the meal we noticed that they put the unordered pita on our bill.
Beautiful place, rooftops are great. Great summer vibe.
The restaurant is beautiful with an amazing view and a must see outdoor area. I was not impressed with food and service (super slow!).
