mBar Ratings and Reviews
The Bartender Chad, was not your normal bartender.....he was schooled in classic drinks, and the ingredients that make them great, as well as knew each dish that was being served, as we ate at the bar....hence, he did double duty, and did it exceptionally well.
Had such a spectacular experience at mBar! We visited on a more quiet night and received a lot of special attention as a result. The service was professional, warm, but never too much. We laughed with the servers and were able to ask questions about the food and restaurant. The decor is gorgeous and the food spectacular. We had the salad olivieh (something I make at home) with a twist on the featured ingredients. The rabbit tasted as if it were poached in lemon juice - couldn't get enough! We also had the quail and I can't imagine a more perfect way it could be cooked. I ordered for the table our server, Seth, without having to ask, brought share plates for each course. Such a subtle thing for him to notice and much appreciated by us. I imagine this place gets crazy in the summertime with the deck and view, so take advantage of these cold, rainy nights and a more relaxed atmosphere! Will definitely be putting mBar on my tried and true Seattle list!
mBar was one of the best meals of our life! We were a little worried that the restaurant would rely on the view and mail it in on the food, but we were quite happy to be proven wrong. From the pumpkin soup (which was surprisingly spicy) to the short rib pasta (one of the better dishes I've ever had) we had an amazing meal. To top it off, our waitress was fantastic.
My friend ordered the gnocchi, I ordered the rigatoni and my friend order the salmon special and two other friends ordered the prawns with pasta. We all loved our dishes, you could tell it was made fresh and I loved my rigatoni with crab. They surely did not skimp on crab meat in the pasta. It was a perfect proportion for each bite I took between the pasta and crab. I ate a few pieces of crab that was not shredded. The crab was fresh, my family was in the seafood business for 16 years and I always had more seafood than meat at home. I can tell when the seafood is fresh or not. This dish definitely was fresh as it comes. I tried my friend’s’ prawn pasta dish and it was lemony yet rich; another dish I’d recommend. I also tried a piece of gnocchi and loved that as well! The last few times I tried it was chewy, this plate here you bite into it and it breaks apart in your mouth and made it easy to chew and just melts perfectly. We also ordered three starters and they were good too. I don’t have anything really bad to say about this place but the sound reasonating inside is fairly loud because it’s just a big open space. I think this is one restaurant that there should be long wait times for people to try! Definitely worth the money. Oh! And the focaccia bread they give us to munch on, that was so soft and eat to bite into rather than many other focaccia breads I’ve tried.
The food is absolutely spectacular. Love the trout, quail, special bread, everything is just superb. But then, the view is the best for any restaurant/bar Seattle with the exception of the Space Needle. Mbar is a foodie indulgence with a stunning views! I do not live in Seattle but I go here every time I visit, my favorite along with their sister restaurant, Mamnoon.
The mBar was a great place for date night as it had a wonderful and tasty selection of food paired with an immaculate view of the city. Sunsets are perfect on this rooftop resteraunt and bar. The wait for our food seemed to be much longer and pricey than it should've been. However I highly recommend trying this place out.
Took my girlfriend there for her birthday. I reserved outdoor seating without realizing the menu outside was a smaller version of the menu compared to the indoor seating. So I asked the server if we could move inside which wasn't a problem. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall the food was very good. We had the octopus, quail and the trout. Prior to ordering, I warned my girlfriend about having to navigate all the little bones with the quail while eating which she found frustrating, but she still enjoyed to food. Only food hiccup was the dessert which had a very medicinal tasting sauce, which now I wished to have told them in person because the meal was very good. But I can't find the dessert on their current menu, so maybe they removed it already. It was around $200 for the two of us with cocktails, apps, meal, and dessert. You can get a nice pic of you dining with the space needle in the background. I don't drop that much for meals on the regular, so I would say this is a nice place for special occasions.
mbar was an elegant, modern and delicious experience. Loved all the art and details from serving vessels to the furniture. The outdoor patio view is stunning; so fun to sit there and just enjoy our beautiful city. The Tuna Crudo might be the best raw fish dish I've had all year. We will be back!
This is an awesome experience Seattle!
Get in this place fast cause as the skyline of the city
Changes, the vistas that this place offers will disappear. Dining from the Space needle is a great way look down on the city but you don't get a great view of the Space Needle from the Space Needle.
The patio menu differs from the dinning room so 2
Trips are really needed to judge this place on food,
So I'll just say it was good. I paid 80$ less here for dinner and cocktails for 2 than at ivars. As you enter
The bar you feel transported into a James Bond movie as you need to ride a private elevator up to the bar. This really is a hoppin place.
After reading mixed reviews, I was a little worried celebrating a 6 year anniversary at MBar Seattle ... However, the weather was great and decided to take advantage of the spectacular view! Perhaps expecting the worse, I was pleasantly surprised - starting with the downstairs hostess, our experience was a great one ... the Team was pleasant, attentive, friendly, and took great care of us. The patio menu was limited - but the food (and drinks) were excellent! We will be back!
We made reservations for the outdoor patio and brought out of town friends. We loved the unescorted elevator ride to the 14th floor. The patio after a few monutes of a gorgeous 360 degree view of Seattle was a bit too vibrant for conversation, so the hostess easily moved us into the upstairs bar where we had a fantastic dinner shared among all 4 of us. The food, service, cocktails and ambience were fun and unique. One of our new great places to eat in Seattle.
As a chef, it's difficult to eat out, and be "wowed," and mBar DID! Food, service, atmosphere - all just about perfect. Do note that, if you make a reservation for the outdoor deck, that the menu is very limited, and the cocktail menu is different than the one inside! Both cocktail menu and food menu are both fabulous and sophisticated inside. Have a drink outside - then go inside. We sat at the bar, and bartender Sarah was THE BEST ! ! !
A perfect way to celebrate our son's 21st birthday.
Our waiter was just wonderful. (I wish we had taken his name!) He was upbeat and greeted us warmly. Attentive, without being overly so. And he had a great sense of humor!
We were at the bar early - 5:45 - and were seated overlooking South Lake Union. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed the food - especially good was the grilled albacore with avocado, sumac, labneh, and fenugreek - and the heirloom tomatoes (also with sumac).
