my dinner had a small pool of oil on the plate from the vege cooked in oil; didn't finish my dinner.
Our server was great. I think his name was Roberto. Very kind and helpful and attentive without being overbearing.
Negative is that when we arrived we were seated in a quiet area. The entire restaurant was empty except for one other couple clear across the large room. After about 15 minutes a table of 10 was seated right next to us when the entire restaurant was open. Would have been nice for the staff to be aware of seating of larger loud parties especially when the whole restaurant was available for seating.
Also- we were provided a validation ticket (scan code) but when we exited the parking lot and used our validation code it said the code was already used and thus wasn’t valid so we ended up having to pay for parking. Validation codes provided to guests need to be valid. At that point we couldn’t exit our car and walk 5+ minutes back to the restaurant to get a new validation code.
Staff was amazing from hostess, bar and waitress
Center cut steak and sated spinach fabulous
Dessert beautiful and delicious
Good food, great service!
Our server for the night was John...he was attentive, humourous, and kind! Definitely request him when you go to dine. He will take care of you.
The gentlemen (the general manager) whom directed us to our table upon arrival (can't remember his name) was helpful, gracious, and kind, as well. I got that old-school, gentle vibe from him that you don't see around anymore. Food came out promptly, hot, and great portions! Although, our stuffed salmon was undercooked, John corrected that error efficiently. A younger gentleman (didn't catch his name either - another general manager) delivered the better cooked stuffed salmon with honest apologies and help. Great dinner for two adults and their toddler. Thank you for making our first dinner in Anaheim a great one!
It’s such a joy to eat at McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood . They know Seafood and how to prepare properly. We enjoyed the chef’ s special , salmon with crab and shrimp. Great preparation and served wit fresh broccolini and mashed potatoes. Not disappointed with a single thing. Our server was excellent and made evening mote enjoyable without being intrusive. One of our party of 3 had battered fish and fries, perfectly crispy. And always good. We finished with the chocolate box, of course because no meal is finished without chocolate. Great evening.
I went here on a slow MONDAY night. There was only 4 of us and we had a pretty good night ahead of us. We got 3 filets, and a bowl of soup. You would think that filets are pretty easy to make. We got them medium and medium rare. ALL 3 came out WELL. So after taking forever to make, they are wrong so you have to wait another 30-45 minutes. 1/3 wells they didn’t even re make. We got the “we will give you guys dessert” never got it… shocker. No impressed at all with this place. Not coming back here.
worst nightmare of my life! food service very long! the meat was not at its point it was dry! the salmon was dry! very expensive for the quality of service and poor food!
Our server was exceptional and professional ! It was a really pleasant experience
Food is good - although the value seems to be going down. We've been coming to this restaurant for many years now. My wife's filet mignon plate only came with mashed potatoes - every time she orders this plate, it would come with some kind of veggies on the side. The plate was very sparse. We asked where the veggies were and the waiter stated it only came with mashed potatoes. Kind of wondering what happened here. Drinks are good. BEWARE: The booths in the middle are very tight. The tables appears to be too wide. I am not a big person and yet, it's always uncomfortable to sit in them. The table is just too close so your abdomen. I stated on my reservation for a table against the wall - but when we got to the restaurant, we were seated at a booth. Not sure what happened here either. There was one table against the wall available, in the corner, but the hostess hesitated to seat us their - she said it was for a party of 5. Then she went to the kitchen and came back out. My wife and 9 year old son were just left waiting... she finally said "I guess I can sit you there" and gave us the table. No sure what happened here either. My reservation included the table request and my Landary Select Club number... maybe they don't read this information because the waiter did not know I was an LSC member and I had to give him my number when I got the check. The deserts were good, but we had to bring them home because they were so rich.
Allie was our server and she was attentive and prompt with everything. Her recommendations were spot on. The food was excellent, not overdone or over-seasoned.
Awesome! Truly enjoyed our dining experience. Thank you
The host approached me by name as I entered the restaurant. He was witty, friendly and escorted me to the table promptly. The waitress was professional and accommodating. The food was served hot and delectable with satisfying portions. My husband and frequent steakhouses but, I’d gladly recommend McCormick and Schmicks to anyone!
No one greeted us at door or was up front for our reservation. We ended up sitting at the bar on our own.
They are “short staffed” at this time and it took 45 minutes for us to get our drinks and salad.
We will not be back
We take the new year meal and they forget bringing the soup, other then that excellent!!!!
We must have had too high of expectations or management lost good help due to the "Great Resignation". The Host should not be in customer service and especially not the first and last contact with diners. She was so unfriendly and unhelpful. On the way out after dinner, she was sitting on the bench by the host stand catching up on her Facebook and ignored us as we left. She was the first impression and last and it shows how a bitter person can almost ruin an experience.
We started the evening with a drink at the bar to wait for our OT reservation. The bartender was pleasant and helpful. After our OT reservation time had come and gone I had to check with the host and our table was ready. Glad I checked. Our server was nice but didn't have much training as a server. I'm sure she was new and I don't fault her at all because I made all the same rookie mistakes when I was a new server: not clearing the two extra place settings when we sat down as a couple, not knowing chef specials or chef preparations, constantly leaving the table without any pre-bus, bad timing on soup and salad, not including all sauces for oysters, not checking on table etc etc. I think when you pay $40+ a plate your expect a certain level of service. Again I don't fault the server, I fault management.
All in all our dinner at McCormick & Schmicks was nice as I always enjoy dining out with my wife. Ambiance was giid although music didn't seem appropriate, food was good, service could have been better but the host and management needs some work.
We will give McCormick & Schmicks another try, maybe at a different location though.
waiter was not knowledgeable of what was available on the menu. oysters were terrible!
Absolutely horrible from start to finish. Hostess had the personality of a dead fish, Hailey our waitress was rude, slow and unapologetic and the manager on duty James Cruz was the worst manager I’ve ever encountered. Everything was “covid’s fault”, no accountability for the bloody steak, slow sloppy service, etc. save your money and go to Morton’s, or McDonald’s you’d have better service and better tasting food at either! This place should be shut down, it’s an a absolute joke for a steak house. I would give it - 5 stars if that was an option.
Steaks were over cooked and burnt on o e side. Service was mediocre. Not happy at all.
No soap in bathrooms during a pandemic. Someone at the front desk said they were all out of soap
The food was pretty good as was our server but the attitudes of hostess and manager were unacceptable for any restaurant, but especially for a restaurant at this price point. Basic manners are a minimum, especially when it is $75-100, person.
Management here is atrocious. Their attitude has obviously cascaded down to their team, especially the extremely disrespectful hostess who disparaged OpenTable and told me to never use them because they are a "bad app." I arrived on time for my reservation and the doors were locked. I politely knocked on the door and the hostess looked straight at me and then proceeded to pretend I wasn't there. I had to CALL this person in order for her to speak to me. Can you imagine how ridiculous it is to have a conversation with someone that is on the other side of a glass door?! When I asked her why my reservation was cancelled, she said because they close at 9pm and I said that I actually had a reservation at 9pm, so how is that possible? That's when she said I should never use OpenTable because it's a bad app and that's when I asked to speak with a manager. One manager passed by and they were obviously speaking about me since they looked right at me and the manager gave her a fist bump and then walked away. Another manager came to the door and sighed "come in" with such an awful attitude that I would have gone elsewhere had it not been Christmas night with not much else to choose from. He seemed so annoyed that he had to honor our reservation so I asked him if there is any way he can reach out to OpenTable to discuss having the correct closing time posted. He said "if you show up before 9pm, there's no problem." If my reservation is at 9pm, then I expect a restaurant to honor my reservation at 9pm. I'm assuming the hostess lied to the manager and said we were late, even though we have the parking lot ticket to prove what time we arrived. We stayed, against our better judgement, and tolerated the poor quality of food we were served. The prime rib I had was almost inedible and the filet my partner ordered was bland and tough. There was also a woman in the back screaming "turn that shi* off!" The one saving grace was the level of service we received from our server, Roberto.
Pretty awful service. We were there for 2 hours before we got bread. We order nice bottles of wine and vintages were off on both despite the menu being printed that day. The server did not present the wine before pouring. I could go on and on but overall it was pretty terrible.
Our Christmas dinner was delicious. The food wasn't hot when brought to the table. Service was spotty. It was obvious that the servers were overwhelmed. We had to keep asking for things we needed. My cocktail was forgotten until I mentioned it again to the server. We had eaten Thanksgiving dinner there too and both nights the food took forever to arrive. The dining room wasn't as beautiful as last year. Last year there was a big, gorgeous Christmas tree. It lent so much to the festivities. It's difficult to recommend.
The fish was a bit tough, which was surprising. We've had fish there before, but this one was disappointing.
For being Christmas, it was great! This was the third year in a row, we have come to McCormick's. The food was terrific, and the service was GREAT! Our server Rich made some recommendations that everyone loved. His description and taste of some of the fish, were spot on! The food was cooked to perfection. If you're not careful, you will leave fully stuffed! The restaurant was pretty quiet, except one table, they were pretty noisy with their laughing. Oh wait, that was us! The restaurant was doing pretty well at following COVID protocols. I only have one kind of petty complaint, the server forgot to ask if I was a Landry's Rewards member. We plan to go back next Christmas!
Sarah was very attentive and dinner was delicious!
We came for the dessert- the chocolate bag but the food was delicious too!
Loved the food. Fish and shrimp was cooked perfect, absolutely wonderful steak. Salads were very tasty and plentiful. Service was beyond horrible. Recommended that the manager help his server and even the manager fell short of satisfactory. The restaurant was about 10% full. I will get five stars for the food and less than one star for the service. And the waiter could care less as well as a manager
Sad that we seemed to get really poor service and everyone around us seemed to be served quicker and more pleasantly.. maybe that’s what we get for coming in with crocs on and street clothes BUT bet we still tipped better than the fancy guests next to us. Please think before judging a book by its cover and providing service based on that. Food is outstanding tho!
I last dined here 2 years ago, and remember a wonderful experience, which encouraged me to reserve again this year for a birthday celebration. Food was fair, not the excellent quality I remember; fish and chicken were dry. Our server was very inattentive; I had to catch her attention for refills. Most disappointing, our pre-arranged birthday celebration went completely unrecognized. So very disappointed with this experience.
took a party of 10 to my reservation for 8, they handled us without problem or complaint. Food was Awesome, exceeded all expectations, Server, Bar tender and front of house, kind funny and energetic. Lovely experience, we will be back!!!!
Nice place, a little loud, but the food is great. The service was courteous , but the food took over forty minutes to arrive. Overall it was pleasant experience.
Its our first time at this M&S and we were very pleased with the food and service. We would recommend coming back.
It took a half hour before our service started from the time we set down. Our waitress was very pleasant but just too busy! There were long lags between our appetizers, salad, and dinner. We were in no rush but we’re there three and half hours! If they got a cocktail to us right away I wouldn’t complain at all. Restaurants should learn this secret to keep customers “happy” while waiting. Overall, the food was very good. Will not go to any restaurants around the Disneyland area again; they are just too busy, and the customers don’t dress for a nice dining experience…..
It took more than 30 minutes to get a drink
Appetizers came out before the drink
The server told us that there was a minimal up charge for spinach instead of potato a 50 cent difference on menu was a five dollar up charge
Told 8 shrimp on Australian lobster really on 2
Dessert took another half an hour
It was just okay
Had our company Christmas dinner at your beautiful restaurant in Anaheim. Party of 10 and our server was great. Lots of drinks , appetizers dinner and desserts and we were well taken care of. Food was outstanding!
