McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - National Harbor
The food was delicious. The waiter tried very hard to do a good job.
Absolutely terrible service & mediocre food, definitely not worth the price the pay. The only positive aspect is the view (if you happen to get seated at a table with waterfront view)
Service was okay. Waited for about 30 min to get our appetizers, there wasn’t any silverware for one person. Bread came out late. The food had a great taste but for the portion of it wasn’t worth the money. I loved the wine. Thanks to the host who helped me picked that wine.
The hostess and wait staff were pleasant enough but the place was a zoo. We were a party of six with a Saturday night reservation. After being seated at 8:10, it took awhile to get water, a longer while to place our orders and we had to chase down wait staff to get our glasses of wine and food. Our entrees were finally delivered at 9:40! Wow! The place was crowded with large noisy parties. Not a wonderful evening.
Greeted right away at the door and took about 2 mins to get sat even though very busy. I did make a reservation which helped tremendously. Food- Chicken was very dry, had to dip it in sauce! Service- Waiter was very nice but I believe he may have been a bit busy, it took about 14 mins before I was greeted and that’s because I asked a server walking by who was my server. Overall I still enjoy this place and will return again but order a different meal.
To clarify, the noise was mostly due to it being a very busy Saturday evening in an area with high foot traffic.
Very good experience! Kenya was an excellent server. He ensured that my hubby & I were satisfied with our drinks. The M&S iced tea had too much sour mix in it. He took them back & bought out the Kentucky Smash & a Bone Crusher...please know & understand that A Bone Crusher isn’t part of their menu. The bartender & Kenya researched it & I was pleased!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽thanks again fellas
I was celebrating my 22nd anniversary with my wife. She enjoyed and if she enjoyed so did I! A happy wife makes a happy life!! I will definitely visit again.
The bar staff seemed very overwhelmed, understaffed. The waiters (one in training) were both very good. The appetizer (ahi tuna) was good but overpriced. It took an hour to receive our entrees. The music inside the restaurant was too loud which then made all the customers talking extremely loud to talk over it. I don’t recommend music playing at peak times.
Our drinks from the bar were below average. We spoke to the manager and he mentioned there were changes going on and he was only 2 weeks in.
For the options you have at the harbor, this should not be your first choice. The steak was excellent, and the people were nice, but there were too many issues with the food to overlook. We had shell pieces in our oysters, the scallops were overcooked, the sides lacked flavor and there was cork floating in the wine. They have some work to do.
Everything was wonderful for our group of 8. Many nice comments to us for choosing this restaurant.
The food was delicious. I loved the salmon. The service was great; our server was polite and helpful.
Very pleasant experience everytime I visit one of Landry's Restaurants.
Family came in from Calif
It took a while for a server to come. Once he was assigned to us, the service was excellent. (I feel bad that I forgot his name). My dish was fine; my girlfriend’s vegetables were too salty. When we mentioned it, they prepared another batch for her. She liked it.
No urgency from anyone. Operated like a low cost chain not a higher end seafood place. Waitress got our order wrong and failed to bring drinks requested. Not a good experience at all at this location.
We always enjoy the food and service.
Excellent!! Had a really good server, Brandy!! She gave suggestions & checked on us frequently. Good was good as always!! M & S never disappoints!
The service has gone down considerably and I have been a patron of this restaurant since they opened. Everything and I mean everything took a long time. The place wasn't even crowded and other guests were complaining. Our bread came out with the appetizer, dinner took an even longer time and I was told at first after ordering my meal, eating our appetizer that my main course was not available. I had to order something else, I asked if my husband and son's food was ready, they said yes. I said okay, please bring it out so that they can at least begin eating. After waiting some more, I was told that in fact they did have my meal and apologized for the error. Mind you, this is after waiting 20 minutes, and my son's food STILL had not been brought out. They finally bring all of the food out, everything tastes good, although the potatoes that came with my food could have been warmer, it was room temperature. We had to catch the server whenever we could to get drink refills and then we ordered dessert. MISTAKE! It was another long wait, long enough that I got up and told her to cancel it. I then talked with a manager who was extremely nice and apologetic. He offered to give us free desserts to take home but I declined because we didn't want to wait any further. Overall, not a great experience for a restaurant that had been a pleasure to visit.
Food is good and, with the location right on the water, the ambience is great. That said, this is the second time I’ve been where I’ve had to wait 10 minutes or more for someone to start with my drink order (or bring me water) or AT LEAST tell me my waiters name and advise that they’re on the way. God bless Kenya for noticing that I hadn’t been served and taking it on himself. If he hadn’t provided excellent service, I’d have given a lower rating.
This restaurant is really upping their game! I had not eaten at this location for over 18 months because I felt that they weren’t doing a good job. But I have been there several times in the past few months and they are really good. They have cool new specials and their standard items are even better thank before. Woo Hoo! I am a fan again!
The food was good and the service was outstanding.
Needs to be a little quieter so you can hear what people are saying at the table, It could be a little more well lit
Food was good. Service was not great. Waiter was slow. Will think again before I visit.
It was ok nothing special to talk about or to refer a friend or family
Booked from the U K fora special birthday treat. We made the reservation for 7.30 arrived at 7.20 and were told to come back at the allotted time in a very unfriendly manner.
The service was terrible and the food very average. One of our party had a fly in her water and the manager was not interested or particularly apologetic.
We will not be returning.
I went with the familiar chain to ensure a a good experience, but sadly, McCormick & Schmick's is not consistent and offers a much better dining experience at its OTHER DC locations. Menu selection at this location is stripped down to only a handful of options, which generally speeds up service, but at National Harbor, it is still woefully slow. Bar drinks arrived after appetizers, and entrees were served nearly an hour after we ordered. Orzo was overcooked and mushy, and the fire-roasted corn salsa on the crab cakes was about 10 kernels of corn (less than a teaspoon). 10 minutes after ordering dessert, we were told they were out of one option. The only time things went quickly was when we asked for the check. While our server was generally nice, I think the general operations in the kitchen and the bar had him well-rehearsed with the "will be right out" lines. Skip this location if you have other options.
Service and food quality have diminished over a short period of time. Better options available in National Harbor.
My wife and I have been here on numerous occasions, but Saturday's visit was by far one of our worse experiences eating there. Let me start by saying the service was not the problem. Our waitress was excellent in providing us comfortable customer service. The issue was the food. My wife's meal was over cooked, to the point of me just taking it from her and me eating it (I'm not that fussy, but Tuna should not be cooked to a point of well done like a burger). It was the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna* The asterisk is there as a caution about raw to uncooked meat. Well, my wife is accustom to sushi quality tuna. This tuna was like a well done burger. I switch my Fish & Chips for her to eat and I ate the tuna. She could barely finish the F&C due to the salt content. We were also shocked at the cost. $26 for the Tuna?? My wife and I just came back from a cruise in Europe. Not one European meal we ate came to that price and the taste and quality was top notch compared to Saturday's meal. Would we return? I would hope this visit was a fluke. One one try and hopefully better results to help us continue to return.
Made an reservation and requested an outdoor seat. Once we arrived we were told that outdoor seating was sat separately. Meaning our reservation would not be accepted for outside seating.
There is no open table reservation for outside seating.
We take the inside table because we didn't want to wait an additional hour for outside seating.
I start to look at the menu and was wondering where all of the food was. The server informed us that there was a different menu on the weekends so things were not available.
This was unfortunate, we were not aware of this. We were already seated on a busy Saturday night. No time to go anywhere else and didn't want to get up and leave.
Service was slow and we had to repeatedly ask the waiter for items that he forgot to bring to the table.
Best ribeye I ever had in my life
The food was good and fresh. Service was a little slow. We noticed two tables were served who came after us and after we had ordered. Nice ambiance and my guests did enjoy the meal.
The hostess were very accommodating and friendly. We decided that we wanted to be seated outside and they were able to make it happen with ease.
We ate outside on the patio for a special occasion lunch and expected great things. Our server took 20 minutes to get us water and our cocktails, asked if we wanted our soup before or after our entrees, came to let us know one of the menu items was not available (fish and chips), and came back twice to let us know two of the wine selections we chose were not available. By the time we got our third wine choice we had almost finished our meal. We did receive a complimentary dessert for the special occasion but it didn't make up for the other mishaps. It's not at the top of my list.
One of the best meals, I've had in a long time... From start to finish. My only comment would be the noise level was very loud for a high end restaurant. Service was excellent, Carlton was very attentive without being intrusive, steak barely even needed a knife, crab cake was all meat, truffle Mac & cheese was the perfect side dish. All good!!!!!
It was a good setting but the ac wasn’t working properly.
We sat early and then the place filled up. Terrible wine list by the glass and overpriced by the bottle. Took 20 mins for first drink to arrive even though no one was there when we sat down.Food was adequate, but not for the price. Graces was far better the next night.
