   Great neighborhood eatery. Outstanding meal, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A local favorite away from the touristy glitz. A little energetic but not so noisy that you could still have a good conversation. If we were staying another day in Edinburgh we would come back.

   Loved my first visit here. My husband and I enjoyed lunch in one of the ski gondolas which were super cute! Food was delicious and the place is beautiful. Will be back!

   Service tonight was awful - friendly enough but just not enough of it. It took 30 mins after sitting down to get a drink and order food. It was a total of 1hr 20 mins to get food delivered to us. We watched families arrive and leave after 40 mins having failed to get any service. Mclaren’s needs an extra outside waiter/waitress during the summer months. We are fans of McLarens but last night was not up to scratch at all.

    Unfortunately our experience at McLarens was poor. After ordering drinks they took at least ten minutes to arrive. Our friends arrived and also ordered drinks and finally had to approach a waitress and ask her to serve the drinks which were sitting on the bar. The place was not busy. Also I thought the drinks were very expensive- a gin and tonic, a pint of beer and two large glasses of wine for £38.50!!

    Lovely menu and decent portions. Pie of the day was great accompanied by fresh veg. Trio of sliders was tasty too. The haggis chips with peppercorn sauce is a must!

    The food was very disappointing. There was no indication of unwanted strong, hot spice in quinoa salad and the deep fried haddock had undercooked centre. Nobody went away thinking it had been an enjoyable meal.

    This was my first time at McLarens and it did not disappoint. We had a fantastic waiter who provided excellent customer service. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency, but the half portion of the main course which I had was lovely! Can't wait to return.

    We got off to a bad start last night. Staff training we were assured was just about to finish was still going after we had been at our table 15 mins. They were right next to us about 15 people and the man presenting the training was so loud, we could not chat or concentrate and even make a decision about our order. It was so distracting! My dad, after 15 mins got up and complained and the trainer was rude to him. This was completely out of order and not the experience and service we normally receive at McLarens. But what was the floor manager thinking letting this continue in front of customers for so long, completely unacceptable customer service.

We regularly hold training sessions in the live environment for staff to best learn about our business, on this occasion the latter part of the meeting and training was about wine and spirits and there were no tables in the back area of the business until yours arrived. We regret that this impacted your experience and are disappointed and concerned that the trainer was rude to you.

    Meal was lovely and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed the evening but the only fault was the chairs. We were at a table next to the window which was fine but the cinema style chairs were so uncomfortable and set back from the actual table so I felt that I was sitting forward the whole night to reach my meal The booths looked much more comfortable but overall we had a lovely evening

    My steak was inedible and had to be sent back which was changed without problem. For £28 didn’t expect frozen chips.None of the starters were to our liking. Wine was good

    Delicious food and lovely time sitting outside with friends. Service was rather slow, especially coffee and dessert which took a good 20 minutes or so to arrive

    Service very good and it is a very comfortable environment (we were inside). Mixed experience with food - from excellent (salmon) to over spiced (chicken) - but the waitress did warn us. Wine expensive but we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon despite that.

    Noise level would have been fine except an exceptionally noisy table close to us was occupied by women who screeched rather than spoke. Even the small baby with them looked fed up.

    Great location and class ambiance. Good service and lovely waitstaff. Excellent steak, while in contrast Ceasar salad was poor and expensive. Good local beers but only lager and IPA, no choice of real scottish ale. Quite expensive but you pay the class ambience as well.

    The hospitality staff were very friendly and professional. The food was tasty but a bit expensive. We were seated outside (our choice!)…appreciated that woolly wraps were provided as the weather was a bit cooler today.

    Limited lunch menu if you’re just wanting a light bite ( sandwich etc) as other than soup there only seems to be main meals on offer. Service was slow but possibly because we were sitting in the shade and away from the main terrace. Looks pretty inside.

    The girl on the door who showed us to our table was lovely and a credit to the company. Our waitress was very off hand. She mentioned there were specials and I asked were any vegetarian/vegan she then read them all out with a few questions over the beef or cod ! We ordered a vegetarian burger and a vegan burger - neither my husband or myself could eat the burger as they were meat replacement burgers and not plant based ie/chickpea or falafel based - could I suggest that this is made clear on your menu! The cocktails and coffee were good. The waitress removed the plates in a very off hand manner and we felt we could not actually complain about the burgers but we did feel the waitress should have actually asked was there something wrong with the burger - I had actually removed the burger from the roll so the whole burger was on the plate! We used a voucher that I received as an end of term gift from my Hospitality Management students - I therefore have experience of what to expect with regard to the service and customer experience. I would kindly suggest you look at the wording on your menu and perhaps a bit of refresher training for your waitress staff particularly when the girl at the start was so lovely. Booking date 9/7/22
