Great food, lovely interior and nice friendly service.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, nice coffee and all for a good price. Would highly recommend!
Food was amazing. Second to none. Service was terrible. No one to greet us, so stood around like headless chickens for ages. To then be sat on benches for ages despite having a booking and being well on time. Service to come take the order, get anyones attention was awful. There was no air conditioning either so very very hot. Took too long to be served. However, hats off to the chefs. Brilliant food.
Tasty food, great menu, very fresh. Great setting in city centre. Very nice building and hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the street.
Food, vibe, and service were all great. My only concern was about the cleanliness of the one of the latte cups which had lipstick marks on 2 sids of it
An amazingly chilled and relaxing experience with great food 🤗
Was can I say, everything lived up to my expectations, I was not disappointed in anyway, certainly pleased I chose this for my birthday lunch, will definitely be retain the future.
Fantastic place and fantastic staff.food was excellent quality and service was excellent.
Will being going back again and would recommend to friends and family.
Good idea to book ahead as was a queue which is a good sign of a good place.
Maybe we just picked badly but the food wasn’t great. My poached eggs were hard, the grilled cheese sandwich really fatty. Tea was cold - and only came in tiny cups - not enough teapots to even get a pot of hot water.
Pastries and bread delicious, if you have those I’d recommend but the other food was overpriced and we were underwhelmed.
staff were attentive and friendly and helpful. atmosphere is lovely and quirky. food is outstanding...I ordered sausage patty sandwich and we also had a bacon halloumi breakfast with some fried chicken on the side. it really was excellent better than any other brunch place I've eaten. other people around me also ordered stuff that looked great. the bakery is also amazing with huge pastries and you'll be spoilt for choice each item is only 3-4£ each, fantastic value is you see the size of them! I will definitely visit again and reccomend to everyone!
Poor service. It took us over an hour to have coffee and cake. The restaurant was not really that busy, would hate to go when it was!
The nose level is like a school dining room.
Definitely won't be returning.
The avocado toast with spring onion might not be my cup of tea and food arrived 30mins after I sat down.
Lovely venue. Brunch with a unique twist. Lovely freshly baked bread and great food. Excellent takeaway too for later!
Lovely room, great service and excellent food. We really enjoyed our visit.
Lovely place! good food, nice atmosphere would definitely go again!!!
Loved it good and service excellent
Reliably great food , service a little slow but to be expected at busy times . Excellent for breakfast !
Very good food. Veey good quality. Arrived in good time.
Maybe short-staffed? So had to call the waitress for different things instead of them coming to check on us.
Toilet not ideal: only 1 up some very narrow and steep stairs. Difficult to know if someone is up there already or not. But it was clean.
The dining room was very warm and hardly any ventilation apart from the front door which was open bit a long way away.
Really disappointed… from arrival to being rushed out at the end, the whole experience was one that I wouldn’t want to try again. The halloumi brioche came out cold 2/10 at a push for the standard of the food, I was quite surprised at the speed the halloumi dish came out clearly pre-made sat waiting for someone to order. The service was poor, being rushed out at the end as they needed the table.
We queued on a staircase. Cakes and bread were being sold at the top of the stairs and there was continual yelling from the cake seller about social distancing (there are ways to ask politely). We had made a table reservation but there was no information to suggest that we should bypass the staircase queue. After waiting for an interminably long time we decided to walk past the queue - which was, as it turned out, the required move. We then waited further to be greeted and even more waiting whilst our reserved table was cleared and cleaned. The pleasant man who showed us to our table (cant remember his name but he was wearing a Birmingham University mask) turned out to be the best part of our Medicine Bakery experience. He gave us menus but we only required drinks and cakes....no cakes listed on the menu. So we ordered drinks then had to go back to the staircase to choose the cakes from the shouty lady. How ridiculous!!! Drinks arrived, two of us having tea which was served in a cup with the teabags afloat. Teapots?
The cakes, when they eventually arrived, were mediocre. All in all it was an extremely disappointing visit and we definitely won't return.
Although the table was booked for 1:45, they had sold out of most of the vegan options already. The food we did order was very nicely presented but tasted disappointing. I had the vegan all day breakfast, which was oily and bland. The falafels (which I was excited about) tasted like they’d been bought from a supermarket. Glasses were dirty/burning hot from the dishwasher and music was obtrusively loud. All in all an overpriced disappointment although you wouldn’t know it from the insta pics.
Beautiful room and very very tasty and fresh food. A lovely haven in Birmingham city centre.
The food was Amazing and service was fab from our server who was Lovley and offered us to rearrange seating for us to get better seats
Service was slow and Not very accommodating, simple amendment to my order was difficult. Food was tasty and fresh. Nice ambience.
Amazing menu with so many choices that suits many diets. Everything that came out looked amazing. The options we chose were great but definitely want to come back to try more! Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or just a pastry/cake, they looked fantastic too. Will definitely return
The food was amazing and a really comfortable space
One of my favourite places in Birmingham! See you soon again
The food was tasty- pastries delicious - great spot
Cannot wait to go back! Food and staff both amazing and what a beautiful setting.
Everything was amazing! It’s by far the best full English I’ve had at brunch the food came out really quickly, I was so full I couldn’t finish my fries. The buttermilk chicken is unreal! Really attentive service, it’s an open space with great light and a lovely atmosphere. The food is so bright and delicious. The pastries and cakes in the gallery looked so good we had to take some home, the sticky toffee donut was amazing! Will definitely be returning! Thank you !
Brilliant food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, would highly recommend
The space is amazing, filled with natural light and plants. I have been purchasing their sourdough bread and pastries for a long time; they are all absolutely delicious so I thought I would try out the restaurant. The food was very disappointing, I had the sourdough toast with salmon and poached egg... no seasoning or sauce, it was two slices of bread, a bundle of smoked salmon and overcooked poached eggs. A slice of lemon, some sauce/ seasoning and a few leaves would have made this breakfast so much more enjoyable.
The most beautiful and delicious place. The food is divine and the service is nice quick and friendly and all the plants I didn’t want to leave.
Seated quickly and ordered quickly from helpful and kind staff. Food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Would recommend to anyone and shall definitely be coming back.
flexible, great quality. nice people. need more time to check out full range of pastries!
Fabulous cakes, lovely pot of tea, friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
Love this place. Staff are great and attentive and the food is really good. Highly recommend!
Fabulous as always! Never disappoints with its creative menu and delicious coffee!
Amazing brunch food. There is so much choice that we will be returning shortly for round 2.
We popped in for coffee & cake, as there wasn’t a menu for cakes we were advised to view them by were you queue to come in, while we were choosing we were shouted at/told we could not wait where we were standing which I understand due to COVID & social distance but how were we supposed to choose?
Would we really useful to see the cakes available via a menu.
Cake & coffee were delicious
