Lunch: Tuesday- Sunday: 12-3pm
Dinner: Tuesday- Friday: 6.30pm-10.30pm
Terrific and innovative menu, great staff and always enjoyable. Favourite restaurant in London
Perfect as ever We sat outside and enjoyed the weather, excellent food and great wine.
The crab raviolo is just the best
If we are coming to London usually for an Art exhibition we usually go to Medlar,s for lunch and nearly always choose the same things crab ravioli and Guinea fowl so cannot give an overview of the food it I am sure all the dishes are just as good as ours! Very nice ambience _ not stuffy but smart with efficient service. Pleasant all round and lunch is a bargain
Went for my husband's birthday after seeing other great reviews. were not disappointed AT ALL. They promptly responded via email to my enquiry about a vegetarian tasting menu & remembered me through the booking so presented both the tasting course options as well as the main menu. The service was wonderful, friendly and professional at the same time. The atmosphere was great, relaxed and slightly shabby chic and lots of space between the tables. My husband had the meat-eater tasting menu, and they were really flexible about changing one of the courses (he does not eat duck). Nothing was an issue. The food was fantastic, the veggie tasting menu one of the best I have had, tasty, fresh, beautifully presented and a bit different to the usual. We also had the wine flight with it . This was tailored to our specific tastes & was generous! I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation if you want to feel spoilt and looked after and like an individual.
French Cuisine, but not as nice as an everyday bistro in regional France and about twice the price. The roadside was busy and noisy. Great wine list but very expensive. Great service. Though a 12.5% “discretionary” service charge on 100 quid bottle of wine and 106 quid fixed price meals is as ever annoying and illogical (as the service is not proportional to the cost).
Another outstanding meal at my favourite restaurant in London. Delicious food, outstanding wine, excellent service and a lovely room.
Food was generally good with the exception of one dish, and at this price I expect every dish to be excellent. The rabbit main course I had was bland, watery and under seasoned - very poor. Sadly paying £32 for a substandard main course doesn’t leave one with a positive experience. Also the booth seating is some of the most uncomfortable and unsupportive I’ve experienced at a high end restaurant. Outside of those criticisms everything else was excellent.
Absolutely incredible food at an unbelievable price! These guys deserve a Michelin star.
Service was excellent, friendly and relaxing. The food was very well cooked, delicious and very enjoyable. This was my third visit, and I would definitely recommend Medlar to my friends.
Really excellent - delicious and inventive cuisine, and much enjoyed
My dining experience at Medlar's was truly a pleasure. The food was delicious. I had the roast lamb plus the potatoes with sauce. I asked for a recommendation on wine and was treated to an delightful red. The service was exceptional, too.
A wonderful meal as always. Polite and attentive staff, delicious food and a wonderful wine selection as well. I highly recommend the mushroom arancini to start, amazing!!
I am happy to report that Medlar is excellent in every respect. The food was, literally, flawless. We had the tasting menu, and every course was as good as I've eaten anywhere. The service was impeccable - very friendly and attentive but not at all intrusive. The sommelier did an excellent job with his recommendations. I honestly can't praise Medlar highly enough - it really is that good!
We enjoyed our dinner with friends and would certainly recommend this exclusive address 👍🏻
I requested a nice table for a birthday celebration but we were stuck in the middle, neither next to the window nor in the attractive rear area of the restaurant. It felt like we were in a cafe; there was no ambience. We had just two courses and 2 x 50ml carafes of wine but the bill was steep. We did receive some birthday ice-cream! The service was good and the food also but we wouldn't rush to go again.
Very enjoyable birthday lunch. Food was delicious and service excellent.
We liked it very much but did not get the 100 points open table afterwards. Coud you please check
We travelled up from Devon for the Chelsea Flower Show and booked Medlar to round the day off - recommended in one of the Broadsheets . We were not disappointed, we are used to eating high quality locally sourced food in Devon . The menu was an exciting offering of seasonal foods ; flavours and quality were faultless. The service was excellent and a lovely ambience, we will certainly return
Three of the dishes had too many flavours that didn't go well together. The other dish was instead a little boring, with no innovative flavours. I feel as if the chef was trying to create an exciting menu, but failed with the flavours. It sounded good on the menu, but I wasn't excited when I ate it, as I usually am when going to a restaurant recommended by Guide Michelin. The texture of everything was perfect though, with fresh ingredients. Others would probably appreciate it, I have very high standards.
The wine was of very good quality and the service was good.
This is a rare find. It is all about the food in a completely relaxed and unpretentious manner. Very knowledgeable sommelier as well. Just perfect.
Always great, best meal I have had for a while. Every course, bang on the money. Excellent!
A delight from start to finish. Professional and friendly staff, amazing food, extensive (but rather pricy) wine list. Crab raviolo a firm favourite and great to see rabbit on the menu. Fantastic cheeseboard. We will be back for next years birthday celebrations !
excellent as always. Delicious dinner and very good service.
We try to ensure that we have one meal at Medlars, each time that we are in the UK and are visiting London. Quality food and wine, a nice atmosphere and good service.
Can’t fault - excellent
Food and service superb and ambiance is very romantic under the tree.
Great overall experience as always!
We had a family get together over a late lunch. it was possible to have a proper conversation, without having to talk over background noise, music etc. The service was very good and not intrusive, other than necessary for serving. We all thought the food was lovely, and reasonably priced.
We were very disappointed with the sommelier. He was unhelpful, uninterested and off-putting. We have been to Medlar several times before and are not likely to be back.
Constantly excellent, I have been always pleased by the food and wine.
So lovely place ! Perfect french food, perfect evening
Perfect as always
Great food and wine with excellent service and humour
We went to Medlar for a birthday meal and it was a great experience. The food was wonderful but it was the service that impressed us. It was a very warm evening and our first drink was warm when we asked for it to be cooled down it was done immediately without fuss and the staff then without being asked swopped the bottle of wine which was in the ice bucket for another one.
It was my partner's birthday and I hadn't told the restaurant this but the staff must have heard me wishing him happy birthday, as they brought him a creme brulee with a candle in it at the end of our our meal which was a very nice touch.
We're looking for a new cause for a treat so we can go again.
A delightful restaurant on the Kings Road. We loved the food, wine list and excellent service.
Nice food, well presented. Beignets were fantastic!
I booked Medlar for a late leisurely lunch with 3 friends on a Sunday and we were not disappointed.
Its rare that i spend a solid 20 mins deciding what the choose off a menu but literally every option sounded delicious and what we eventually ordered did not disappoint.
All three courses (plus the extras which were a nice surprise) were delicious and the wine list although extensive had choices for all tastes and budgets.
I would seriously recommend the crab starter and the passion fruit beignets - they literally were to die for.
at £35 for 3 courses this really is a restaurant worth visiting!
We plan to be back very soon to try the rest of the Menu.
Medlar's is not cheap but the food is exceptional and the waiting staff knowledgeable and friendly. The wine list is extensive but might benefit from one or two cheaper 'house' wines. South America, especially Chile is under-represented on the list.
We went there for my husband's birthday and had a fantastic time. Excellent food and impeccable service. We had the tasting menu which I would recommend. We will definitely be back!
So good..... we went for Sunday lunch. What a fantastic find. I met the owner’s parents in Australia who told me to go, thank you for the super recommendation - we will be back!
