Medlar is our favourite restaurant. The service is always so friendly and accommodating. Their generosity of spirit is always so evident, something that can be missing in many fine dining restaurants. The food is warm and comforting rather than innovative or challenging, however, the skill, quality of ingredients, and overall presentation is second to none. We always leave groaning under the weight of consumption with smiles on our faces. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you Medlar!
You know you're in a good restaurant when they just do things right. Everything about Medlar, from the moment you walk in, gives you a reassuring sense that these people know what they're doing. The decor is light and flowery, the staff know when to come to the table, the food is exquisite and perfectly balanced. The one quibble is the extraordinary mark-up on the wines; a three-times mark-up is generally considered fair enough, but I was seeing wines that had been marked up five to six times the retail value. Other than that, a great experience and I'll be back (but sticking to the cheaper wines!)
We have been dining at Medlar several times in the last couple of years but this was our first visit since they have reopened. We were not disappointed. Staff are very attentive and the food is still very good.
The food was the best french cuisine I’ve ever had. The crab raviolo was out of this world and the suckling pig was absolutely delicious. I did not want it to end.
The staff were lovely and were more than happy to make a “congratulations” dessert for one of our party.
Go. You won’t regret it.
We made the mistake of arriving very early and the restaurant filled only slowly which is why I have given a relatively lower mark for ambience.
Absolutely delicious meal, very subtle flavours and interesting menu. Book in advance, may know off this Chelsea jewel.
We had a good time, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good, could have had an option for 4 course. Three courses could be a bit limited.
Superb ambience. Overall a wonderful dinner
I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning.
Our first time and we travelled across to visit. A pleasant evening out, overall. The food was nice but it didn't excite. At times, flavour of the dishes didn't stand out. The service was very good.
Wonderful! Consistently excellent food and service. We love coming here.
Great restaurant in Chelsea.
I love the concept and, when you feel like you want to taste everything on the menu, you know they are doing it right.
The wine list is nice as well and offers a good variety to chose from at a different price range.
Look for Melania, the head sommelier!
She will help you to pair wines and food impeccably, if you need help. She looked after us and was just amazing.
Thank you, we will be back!
Literally some of the best food I have eaten all year. And the fixed price lunch menu means that you can’t eat better for the money anywhere in London.
Great menu with a wide variety. We had the crab raviolo, arancini, beef filet and pork belly which were all exceptional. The sommelier was charming and advised on wines that were delicious but not hugely expensive. The food and service were lovely but the restaurant is quite formal and the clientele are older. Worthwhile for a special occasion.
Wonderful and the team are so warm and friendly. The food as stunning as ever.
Excellent experience. Fine cuisine, warm and friendly service.
Excellent food, the corn veloute was outstanding
I have been here for at least 4-5 times and it has always met my expectations. Good quality price menu and wine list.
The food was delicious and complex without being overworked so tasted fresh and exciting on the palate. The service was very good and our particular dietary needs were well accommodated. The ambience is good and as it picked up with more diners arriving the noise level went up as you would expect which some will enjoy as an energised environment. I would highly recommend a visit here as it feels like a wonderful yet tastefully understated treat. X
We haven't been to Medlar since March, when it was an excellent meal, and Sunday lunch was also fantastic and enjoyed by everyone.
Medlar is one of our favourite restuarants and we shall be regular diners going forward.
Exceptional as ever, and so great to see them busy. They have very cleverly stalled Covid screens that match the decor, so are unobtrusive. Great wine pairing suggestions.
Amazing French modern menu. Could get a Michelin star easily. Warm ambiance and elegant service yet relaxed. No wonder why it is always fully booked.
Superb from start to finish. You can’t help yourself to keep coming back.
We love it! The food was delicious and as ever the service was fabulous! Can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you !
Another outstanding dinner at one of my favourite neighbourhood restaurants. The arancini was a fantastic start to three delicious courses.
The sommelier helped us to navigate the impressive wine list and to select a sublime Italian white. We always manage to find something new to try and every time, the wine selected suits my palette.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. There is a lovely atmosphere at Medlar which is full of groups of friends meeting up after long months apart.
We had an excellent evening at Medlar service was superb and food and wine very good
The new decor retains the original ambience of the restaurant. The sommelier was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The service was as usual perfect. The food was supreme as expected.
Absolutely brilliant, David and his team seem so close knit and it shows, absolute gem!!!
