Not particularly cosy or ambient but amazing authentic Italian food - you can see the chef at work also - a real find in busy Kings Cross we will be back
Service was slow, waitress didn’t understand all our order , language barrier , food was really tasty but my colleagues pork was a little on the small side .

We were staying at the Megaro Hotel and my family of 4 decided to have steak for dinner. We read that the Megaro Eatery served fiorentina steak, and decided to try it. We shared the burrata cheese and artichokes for starters, with the seafood paccherri pasta and fiorentina steak. Everything tasted good, especially the mains! Although we were on vacation, I have tried a few of the Italian restaurants in the area, and would say that the Megaro eatery serves up more authentic Italian cuisine at value-for-money prices.
It is not pleasant to give a bad review but, but here i simply feel the please does not know what it is! Trident bar vibe with gastro dining prices for very basic food! The servers were lovely but nothing really worked!
Our party left the restaurant within a few minutes of arriving. Our table had not been reserved, despite a booking that was made weeks before, and confirmed by phone three days before and email confirmation received of an extra person joining us. I also called twice to discuss a nut allergy and was told it would not be a problem if specific items off the menu were selected. On arrival the staff were very uncertain that they could cater for a severe nut allergy. It was extremely embarrassing for me as I had booked the restaurant for our company lunch and I was meeting most people for the first time, as well as welcoming our new staff member who had the nut allergy. We felt unwelcome and had to phone around to make a last minute booking for 8 people once outside the restaurant. Very disappointing indeed.
Very kind and accommodating staff. They tailor made my coffee (hazelnut latte, really good) and my friend's dish (as she has quite a few allergies), and gave us a large table so her child had space to play. Really liked the Full Italian Breakfast too.
The place was sadly empty apart from us but the place was clean and food really tasty. Service was good and waitress offered recommendations.
I booked an 11am table on bank holiday for me and a group of friends for brunch. When we got there we were informed they don’t serve brunch and that I shouldn’t have booked a table for that time. Was turned away with no compensation and there is no information on the website that they don’t take bookings for that time. Really disappointed.
Food is fairly decent, but was very slow to arrive. We were pretty much the only table dining in the restaurant yet our mains took about half an hour. Too expensive for the portion sizes. Service friendly.
OpenTable offer times for breakfast that the restaurant no longer caters for. Fortunately the staff were still willing to extend breakfast hours.

We booked in for a late brunch but were told the website was out of date and there wasn't a brunch menu after 11am. The menu itself was extremely limited and certainly on the pricey side. I ended up ordering 2 x small plates (the left hand side are all small plates) at £9 each and my friend ordered the turbot at £24. The food itself was delicious, but at £66.00 for a one course lunch with no alcohol, it was probably too expensive to make it a regular haunt! The decor is great, however, and the place is light, airy and spotlessly clean. Just not what was sold on their website and somewhere for a treat not a quick bite to eat.
Food was exceptional, the wait staff were really helpful and provided great recommendations. Will be returning!

This place was honestly terrible. Tapas style menu but way too small and expensive for what we got. Food had zero flavour and we ordered a main dish consisting of cauliflower and received a quarter of a half cooked cauliflower soaked in vinegar for £13. Would not recommend at all for dinner
We had a great meal at Megaro! The service was friendly and fantastic- one of our party has a lot of serious allergies and they were very accommodating (and unlike many places, took her seriously). The food was wonderful, and we will absolutely be back.
The food we had was fine and no complaints, but the menu is odd with nothing like bread or olives to start with, which was not appreciated by our group. Menu needs work.

Excellent service. The Turbot was an outstanding dish. Took a couple of American friends there on the 4th of July. Needed a restaurant close to St. Pancras. Could not have done better. Strongly recommended.
Great selection of food, convenient location, and great service. Hit or miss on the food quality. For example, the buratta toast, seasoned cauliflower, and the strawberries and cream were a hit, the pumpkin gnocchi were a miss (chewy and lacking in flavor)
Fabulous experience would do again in a heartbeat - brunch with unlimited fizz - staff were lovely x
We had two good meals at the Megaro last year which is why we went for another meal recently and found the food very disappointing. It may be they were having an off night but the meal seemed to have been assembled from catering packs rather than cooked from fresh by the chef. We would not go back

A bit disappointed, burger and salmon were good but served with literally nothing else in the plate. Service slow and needed to ask for additional things multiple times, we gave up on asking for ketchup after the 2nd attempt! Shame as the place decor is trendy and light.
2 burgers were undercooked, blood running on plate. No chips! What restaurant runs out of chips at 7.30 on a Friday evening. More burgers were offered but we were left with the side orders so these were eaten separately as they were getting cold. Not what we expect on a night out. Smell if drains in restaurant, waitress said it was the plants. Bill reduced for 1 burger. Not really good enough. Staff were polite as we were with them.
The food was fine and the space was nice, albiet very quiet. I think the evening would have ended on a better note if I hadn't had to negotiate for a discount after a number of issues. I found it odd that of the one salad on the menu the chef "forgot" to add some of the ingredients and then waiter spilt an entire cocktail on me! Just very strange and disappointing evening.

Change of menu since we were last there. A shift towards Italian - but very good italian.

I went to the opening of this restaurant when it opened as Karpo. It’s hard to find. Highly recommended. The chef takes pride in his food.
Brunch with my friend eating the best nana caramel pancakes I have ever eaten in my life!
The design of the restaurant is gorgeous it has this nature and lots of natural wood finishing.
The staff were amazing and tentative.
My friend had one of their Bellini’s and it tasted so good.
Even the bathroom is fabulous.

My friend and I visited on Sunday brunch, having heard great reviews of this place. Unfortunately, our experience was not.
We were seated upstairs, which was OK, but lost some of the atmosphere. When we went downstairs to pay, the employee (sorry I didn't get her name) behind the bar was texting "her supervisor" on her phone. As I work in hospitality myself, I do appreciate that these things are sometime necessary, but either take it to the staff office or wait until after the busy Sunday shift has finished.
The worst was the food, I am afraid. I ordered the Complete Italomanic. The food didn't taste fresh (particularly the rockets and salad on the side), the bread was greasy, and the beans were flavourless. They looked like they had been stewing on the side of the kitchen for several days . Sorry if this is not the case, just my experience. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict. It lacked flavour again, and the portions were really small.
It was a real disappointment; we left feeling that we had a unpleasant experience. It is a shame as we were really looking forward it. Maybe it was just a bad shift?
Our food was very mediocre in taste, and also was the presentation. (Eggs Benedict meant Eggs Benedict - the plate looked empty and dry). The establishment appeared to be experiencing disorder, at 8:15 in the morning. Our server was a delightful young women from Spain, we had a little bit of communications breakdown, but we lightly figured it out, and she was so delightful and fun. THE Big issue: when we were leaving around 9:00 am, a women came in, apparently their supervisor/owner, and started reading the staff the riot act . She did this in front of all of the customeres, we were about three tables from the door, everyone in there heard her. We had already realized that their was some disorder going on, but not a problem for us - things happen. Don't know who she was, but she made our breakfast experience very unpleasant. She could have taken it to a back room, instead of subjecting the customers to her fury. She should rethink what her customer relations position should be, or maybe, The Megaro could help her with this - Bottom Line: She won't help your business, whoever she is. The employees before she arrived appeared to make it work, although experiencing disorder. Again, our young women from Spain, was wonderful.

The service was rude and quite matter of fact. We had a vegan dietary request on our table and we asked for any vegan dishes.
