The food is superb - I’ve been a few times but never ate so well before. Meatball starter is in a sublime tomato sauce, fresh crusty bread, creamy burrata etc, all the starters were yummy. Had the truffle macaroni as main and it was lovely too. Thanks for a great meal.
I have been to Male E Pere before and really enjoy it because the food is good and reasonable and it has a good atmosphere. The staff are warm and helpful. A good casual place to go with friends and family.
Homely Italian cooking, done with quality and style. No pretentiousness, just good honest food and wine.
All ways great pleasure to eat here
Came here initially on the Sunday for a birthday lunch and enjoyed it so much I came back again this week for more! On Sunday, there was a huge group of us, and we had an amazing value Sunday set menu, 4 courses for £25...what a treat! Every dish was perfect, the staff handled our messy group with humour and patience! On my return, this time I dined off the al la carte menu and it did not disappoint. A great Soho option for quality food and great service. Will be back (again!)
Worst risotto ever, poor service. Never eating here again.
Absolute terrible service..waited for an hour for a bottle of wine and asked for this on 5 separate occasions. Staff were not polite or friendly. The main course, a pasta dish, was cold, hard and bitter.
We will definitely not be returning..
I was very excited to have diner in this restaurant where I took my friend for her birthday. Flavors were a bit odd, some dishes were delicious (the cauliflower) but the burrata on brussel sprouts... kills it. I was overall disappointed in the experience and still can’t belive these guys put olive oil on cheese.
The food was amazing great service!
Whilst the food we ordered was as per the fixed price three course menu, the food was pretty ordinary. I think you can up your game.
we come twice a year as a reunion. always good and nice staff. fabulous value
I am always happy to take out of town guests here for a quality yet value priced 3-course meal with a glass of bubbles for £20. And you can book it, which is very helpful in central London.
As always we had a tasty and varied meal and my guests enjoyed it. Pietro provided excellent service.
This is usually my favourite Italian restaurant, but for the first time since I've been going here the service wasn't good at all. I understand they were busy, but we seemed to be forgotten on a table at the back - our drinks (just a bottle of wine) took over half an hour to arrive, and our starters weren't cleared for a long time after we'd finished. Disappointing as my friends and I normally love this restaurant.
Always great food and lovely service. Great atmosphere on a Friday night, service quick but we weren’t rushed to leave which was appreciated.
Good food, good cocktails. Shame we weren't offered the deal that we opted for on OpenTable. Otherwise, a perfectly acceptable restaurant
Food was lovely, service was super slow we didn’t even get a chance to have our desert as they took so long in taking our order and getting our drinks
My second visit to Mele e Pere, and my last. Service was awful. We had to stand up and wave our arms in order to be served after 45 minutes of sitting at our table. We saw at least 3 other parties be seated and subsequently leave because they hadn’t been served. The food was average at best. Pleased we only went on the set menu, it definitely wouldn’t be worth it at full price (the prices are extortionate-just go to Cecconi’s)
The food was below mediocre. When lunch was served, a whole bunch of (what I perceived to be) flies swarmed us. The lobster pasta was extremely disappointing. The only decent thing that tasted good was the tiramasu and the water.
Unfortunately, I took a client there for a business lunch. I'm behind embarrassed at this point. Guess next time, I'll do a better job reviewing others feedback or simply let her choose.
It is listed at the guide michelin guide so i thought I might give it a try. Itwas a pre theatre dinner so the place was empty and there is nothing to say about ambiance.
The food was mediocre. Fair gnocchi. Overcooked bistecca fiorentina.
Sum up : Nothing to write home about.
Nice place, good food, generous portions. Accommodated 2 extra guests that turned up last minute with no fuss.
Thank you.
Nice hidden space of a restaurant with good food and good service.
I ve been there twice and it s a shame I just discovered this place after 5 years living there! I definitely recommend it, very nice Italian food, tagliatelle bolognese were outstanding and staff very friendly and attentive
I love this place. I often go here for a pre-theater meal, but this time I was in no hurry. The food was great, beautiful flavors and combinations. The service was very friendly, but it took them a while before they came over to ask if we wanted to drink something
Very cosy place with friendly and helpful staff. We booked set menu and we shared few available options, all really good! Delicious burrata as a started was the best choice, excellent pork Belly as a main! Definitely can recommend for family meetings of friends gatherings.
Very good service. The food is good. It is a nice everyday resturant to pop into to get a meal.
We sat at the bar. Excellent suggested pairing of vermouth with meal, but bartender could be more outgoing. We were obvious in our attempt to learn more about vermouth, and could have been sold more if bartender was more talkative.
We had a group of 10. The food turned out pretty good but they were very slow. They were about 80% full but the service was terrible. Our server was unfriendly, it turns out she was the manager!
I really like this restaurant and have no hesitation recommending it. On this occasion however I had to mark it down. It was a Monday night and I don't think they were expecting many people but suddenly there were, and with only two floor staff there were some serious service challenges. It won't stop me going back though.
We had a table of 8 and it was all spot on. Delicious!
Conveniently located in Piccadilly Circus - overpriced menu, rude inattentive staff (particularly a guy with a lousy moustache and glasses). Food was average but overpriced for what it was. Cocktails were not bad. Save your money, go to Kiln down the road.
Great ambience, food and service. Great value especially £29 menu
Fine example of classy Italian bistro in buzzing Soho. Fresh pasta compliments imaginative cuisine. Outstanding service
Used to be nice in the past. Now- cafe standard food at restaurant price. Won’t be coming back.
The ambience wasn’t very existent, luckily I was out with a great friend so didn’t matter so much as she had me laughing.
We ordered and our meal was out within about 3 minutes, must have been microwaves?
The desert also was very odd - cold set meringue with cold custard.
Would have been nice if there were better choices on the set menu as there’s wasn’t much to chose from.
Took advantage of the £20 3 courses + glass of prosecco and had the Burratta, Tagliatelle with beef ragu and the pink meringue dessert. Very good value for money for £20, but you do get what you pay for. The meals were pretty standard Italian fare, with nothing special. Service was quite slow as it was a busy Saturday night, but portions were good and the price even better! Perfect if you want a filling, reasonably priced meal, but nothing really special here. The place was bustling with a good atmosphere. I would come back.
We had a table downstairs but decided to remain upstairs because there seemed to be too much noise emanating from the dining area. The service people were good and attentive. The food on their "prix fixe" menue was limited but good and we chose that food. The Buratta was excellent. We weren't expecting the moon and we did well nonetheless. A good soho location.
Great service, great team serving - will go back.
Our service and food was amazing.
Food was very tasty and the vibe is great.
Only downside was that the restaurant was understaffed so it was tricky to get a waiter’s attention, despite asking numerous times.
Staff was nice but the service was super slow, then the risotto was served tepid. I would possibly recommend as the quality of the food was good, but definitely not at busy times.
