Excellent but modestly sized menu which means what food they make, is very well done. Great starters and the pasta dishes are all great. Their Vermouth drinks are well worth going for too.
The staff were extremely welcoming, attentive, offered help on choosing from the menu. The food was amazing all round, none of us had a complaint. A beautiful restaurant that I would recommend and definitely go back to.
Good wasn’t great. Fair that was only 20 pounds a head with starter and main but quality of food wasn’t great
To start with I cannot fault the service. The waiter was really friendly, efficient and helpful - it’s the food that really let things down. Starters were fine. They were tasty and did what they said on the tin. The main courses were the real disappointment. The pasta dishes were incredibly bland and very very watery and the pizzas were bland and very doughy. Steak looked like it had been cooked in a fry pan. Overall, 7 fairly unfussy eaters left full but no one said their meal was good. The wines and the cocktails were very nice but £17 for a glass of chianti classico is also a bit on the steep side.
Overall, I would say it’s a good place to go for a drink and some nibbles but don’t go for dinner. Italian is supposed to be simple food done really well. This was simple but not great.
An amazing experience! I recently took my girlfriend here for a date night and it ticked all the boxes. The downstairs has a great ambience and Ilenia was an incredible server who chose the best vermouths for our tastings. I'll be bringing clients and partners here in the future.
Been many times. Love the ambience. Nice food, good service.
Very expensive for what we actually received- portion sizes far too small (this is meant to be an authentic Italian restaurant..!). Even the waiter agreed with us- they said they had already passed on the same feedback from other diners. Food quality was ok. Drinks very expensive for what they are. Ambience was ok. Not the experience we were looking for after not being able to dine out for so long.
Not much choice on the menu.
Lovely atmosphere, excellent staff. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Honestly was lovely, very professional staff and waiters were so easy on the eye. Would def go back
Good ambience and we sat outdoors in pleasant weather. However, very limited menu, good starters, but the mains and dessert, while certainly handmade pasta and tiramisu, wasn't that great on the day.
Fun place and yummy food. Great room too.
Amazing waiter service and good quality
Love it here. Delicious. Fab service. Great atmosphere
Incredible food experience, the food was so clearly authentic and freshly prepared, and we had some of the best martinis we’ve had in London. The service was also impeccable and the staff were so friendly and accommodating to our requests. Will definitely be coming back when the indoor dining reopens!
Amazing menu, very friendly staff
The food was very mediocre, the service was okay. The venue its self is very nice and thats about it
Food was a bit basic, but the offer we had was good.
The service was great, the energy was great. The restaurant was busy, but it still felt safe and comfortable.
Would definitely come back again.
I can still taste the lobster. The burrata was amazing and the sweet glazed broccoli. I’ll be back. Grazie a tutti
Great service & good value
Great food and refined plates
Incredible value for money considering 3 course and a glass of prosecco were £20 in soho. Michelin recommended for a fraction of the price. All the staff are lovely and super attentive
One of my favourites in london
We had a wonderful evening at Mele E Pere. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco for our anniversary too which was a lovely touch. Definitely recommend the goats cheese ice cream! We’ll definitely be back!
Went for the 3 course set meal at £20. Good quality food, nothing outstanding but tasty and good portion size and hence good value. The pecorino cheese included in the set meal option was a nice touch.
Ambience was good, music not too loud so easy to converse.
Food quality was good but everything was so unpleasantly salty - the calamari, tagliatelle and gnudi. Spoke to some friends after who had been before and they also said it was the same when they went.
Great value set course menu, nice ambience too- thanks!
This is my fourth visit to Mele e Pere and each time, it seems to get better and better! We were celebrating a birthday, so I chose the brilliant 3 course set menu with a glass of bubbles. All courses were delicious and we were offered a free drink on the house as it was for a birthday which was such a treat and much appreciated.
Social distancing and hygiene were taken seriously and me and my friend felt very comfortable with our dining experience during these weird times.
All in all, it was a great lunch and I will be finding another excuse to eat here soon!
What a nice surprise in the heart of Soho! We had a delicious meal on a cold Friday night, the service was impeccable and the food really fresh and tasty! The Vermouth bar was fun, we discovered a few new ones before dining. Despite the street level bar being empty, there was a nice ambiance in the restaurant downstairs which was nearly at capacity. Grazie mille!
Good food, atmosphere and value in central London.
Very good evening as always here. But the set menu and a la carte offered a wide choice of excellent Italian food which was well presented. Wine list has choices to suit all pockets. Highly recommended
We had a pre-theatre meal both from the set menu. We liked the basement decor and ambience. Service was good - quick and friendly. Menu is a little limited but I think it preferable to offer fewer really good quality dishes, and that seems to be what they do. Our food was lovely. The dishes were relatively simple traditional Italien staples but very well executed and quality of ingredients shone through. Good sized portions too! Prices are very reasonable and you cannot fault the restaurant on value for money. Overall an impressive first experience.
Delicious food, really good prices for authentic Italian food
We have been to Mele and Pere for a pre-theatre dinner - service was really efficient, the food was served rapidly and the tiramisu, excellent! Definitely recommend it for this kind of occasion!
Early evening visit to Mele e Pere to meet a friend. Fairly quiet at 5:15pm, but very busy by the time we left at 6:50. Food and service were both to the usual high standards, and the three course set menu with a glass of bubbles is simply amazing value. As always, highly recommended.
My go-to Italian in Soho - the set menu is great value and the food is delicious and authentic. There is always a great vibe there - and not too loud. Would definitely recommend!
Great starters very good indeed. Below average service from staff. 15 mins sat down until we could catch anyone’s attention. Truffle pasta definitely not a good choice! Very watery without flavour and floating congealed oil. Ragu better! Good portions. Stick with your starters and try to go with the slow service and you’ll be ok!
Great service and value for money
Family came into town and the lady be Italian as was going to theatre did a quick search and this popped up. Never noticed b4 nor would have just walked in due to its street presence BUT what a gem.
Extremely good food and excellent service. Portions are generous.
I really enjoyed my dinner here. The food was adequate. Good value. the only complaint I have is that the restaurant is very vibrant - for some may be too noisy. So it depends on if you like places with the load atmosphere or not. The service was good and the servers were attentive. Overall happy with my dinner here, would come again
Artisan style restaurant and fresh pasta. Felt ‘real’ and not touristy. Lovely friendly staff and cosy atmosphere downstairs. Would recommend.
