Found it a little weird their chicken French has mushrooms and olives in it. Service was a little slow. The whole dining experience took 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Well, it was a lovely atmosphere. They ran out of strip steak-which is fine. However, tables after mine were offered another choice of a filet and I was not and I ended up simply
Eating the salad. Which was ok until I saw the filets come out. The server also forgot to bring my husbands credit card back to the table after payment. I saw it being offered to another couple, who thankfully said it wasn’t theirs. The card was never brought back to our table. I found the card sitting in the wide open on the bar. I picked it up-no one questioning it and then the bartender said “I’m so glad someone came back for it”. How did the restaurant not track that to my reservation considering we were still there? Disappointing.
Was (pleasantly) surprised to find that there was a special Valentine’s menu when we arrived.
Delicious appetizer, salad and dessert to share. And each of us had our choice among 4 entree’s. I had the pan seared monk fish with mussels, while my wife had gnocchi with scallops in a brown butter sauce. Both were outstanding.
First time dining there. Will definitely be back!
Food and service were amazing!! Will definitely be back
Friendly greeting, seating on time, friendly attentive staff. Not rushed, had four courses and stayed 3 hours.
Food was all really good, dessert choices were s bit limited. Covid rules were in effect so felt comfortable.
We used to love Mendon 64 since it was close to home and had nice menu selections to appeal to the whole family. We visited on Saturday night and I was disappointed to see that the menu had changed to Italian (new chef I am told). The service staff seemed overwhelmed and many undertrained. Sorry, but we won't be back for a while...which is a shame.
Our waitress, Karen, was very friendly & attentive. Food was excellent. Would highly recommend.
We come from Batavia , so it’s quite the drive, but it is worth it! The owner is very personable as well as the food always being delicious....
We ate at Mendon64 for New Year’s Eve. They offered a 4 course special menu with plenty of delicious options. The portions were more than generous and everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!
Outstanding. Very friendly waitress and excellent meal. Great atmosphere, loved the decor with quiet music in the background. I highly recommend.
Nice place with great food. The portions are huge
We want Mendon 64 to succeed, as we are local residents. But I wouldn't put money on that outcome, Menu is very limited (the night we were there was 90% Italian), and a bit pricey. Menu shows a list of wines by the glass, but then we're told they don t have those, and you have too buy instead a half bottle. Why isn't this stated on the menu? And, these are low-end brands--at $20 for a half bottle!! No draft beer either. Only bottles and cans. Bread basket was essentially Pepperidge Farm white bread, and was served with no bread plates, so you just put it on your napkin or on the table. They are pretending to be a high-end restaurant, given the demographics of the area, but don't consistently demonstrate the right traits. We made the reservation indicating this was a celebration for my wife's birthday--no acknowledgement of that event, not even "happy birthday" let alone a complimentary drink or dessert. It had been months since we visited there (even though we live 5 miles from it), and, sad to say, we're in no hurry to go back. $95 for 2 Italian pasta meals, no appetizers, no dessert, 1 beer, 1 overpriced half-bottle of wine.
Food was very good. Had French Onion Soup - broth was excellent. Chicken French was perfect.
Excellent dinner. Ambiance was wonderful. There were five of us and everyone loved their dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. The NY Strip was one of the best I've ever had. I will definitely return.
Staff was wonderful
The menu was limited as many places have done during this pandemic. The food however was very good and the service was excellent. We ate at an outdoor table near the firepit and the setting was very nice. I think they are changing the menu often, perhaps weekly. We are looking forward to going back.
The food was very good. Check the menu on facebook before you go.
Nice and quiet and spacious. Food not great. Messed up orders a few time...ran out of chicken for my salad. Not much selection on menu.
Poor experience! The food was incredibly disappointing. Luke warm at best and not very tasty at all. Sat next to freezing cold window. Asked for hot tea that they didn’t have. Asked for bread cause we were hungry, which they didn’t have. The music was pop rock, meanwhile the average age of the patrons was about 50+. Weird. I will not be returning.
Amazing food! One of us eats a plant based diet -they had great options. Will be returning
The meal (burger) was outstanding and was served as ordered, the wine (a generous portion) was reasonably priced, the outdoor ambiance was very comfortable, and the service was exceptional. Thanks again to Tod for making us feel welcome.
The service was excellent and so was the ambiance. The food, however, was just mediocre and very pricey. There were 4 of us dining and we all felt the same.
Ambiance was beautiful on a quiet, clear evening. We sat on the patio, where it was quiet and private. The waiter was friendly, and despite them being a bit understaffed tonight, managed very well. Our food was delicious from their new Oktoberfest menu. For appetizer, we shared the Shrimp dish; it was tasty and not over cooked. For entrees, we had the Cobb salad and the roasted vegetable dish. The fried pork belly diced on the salad was like butter; salty and melted in your mouth. It was a nice contrast to the fresh greens and other elements. The roasted vegetables were tender and slightly caramelized, served in a ring of spaghetti squash. The platings were thoughtful and portions were just right to have room for dessert. Apple cheesecake was the perfect capstone to a lovely meal. It was creamy perfection - not too sweet and thoroughly enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again.
Two of 4 meals had to be sent back because they were stone cold. A third meal should have been sent back. We’re seated for over 1 1/2 hours before entrees were served. Overall very disappointing
We have enjoyed the new chef at Mendon64 in the 2 times we have visited recently. The restaurant has nice outdoor seating either out front or to the side next to a garden.
We had vegetable tempura as an appetizer. It was nicely prepared with just a thin coating of batter. There is at least one interesting vegetarian dish on the menu .
Menu is minimal with few choices. Would probably not go again u til after covid when hopefully and expanded menu is available
WAS ASIAN FUSION. GOOD FOOD. PORTIONS RATHER SMALL.
EACH WEEK A DIFFERENT WORLD FOOD AREA. I WOULD CALL ANDF ASK WHAT FOR THE WEEK. ONLYOPEN FRIDAY AND SAT DUE TO YOU KNOW WHAT!
We had a delightful evening outside on the patio. There was a limited menu but it had a variety of options from shareable plates, salads, to entrees. Very quiet, social distanced tables, and great service.
The food selection was good and really good portions and value. Smaller menu but great options. Had seating out front patio, side igarden and also inside.
We always enjoy Mendon 64. The food is delicious, and servers are gracious. We had a lovely evening out on the patio.
It is always a pleasure to dine here as the menu is varied and the staff cordial and professional.
Good food, decent wine list, seasonal menu. Excellent service.
As always, we had an excellent time at Mendon 64. The food was fresh and the flavors on point. I had the arugula pesto chicken pasta special and you can tell everything is made from scratch and with the best ingredients. Our service was attentive as always. Can’t wait to return!
We attended for a birthday celebration. Everyone chose a different main course and we all enjoyed them very much. Nice place for a celebration!
We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere on a cold winter evening, the lovely harp and flute music (live), and a deliciously prepared meal.
Thank you Hope for your nice review! We will pass your comments on to the musicians and rest of the Mendon 64 team.
Went for Valentines Dinner. Liked the Ambiance. Unfortunately, the two of us had the Price Fix menu which included a "special" beef Wellington. It was far from special. The meet was well done and rubbery, certainly not a prime cut of tenderloin. There was a raspberry Cake for desert that was served partially frozen with frozen Raspberries. While the lead server was pleasant, the service was very choppy. Soups served with out soup spoons, Desert served with no utensils. Had to ask for more water. When first told and shown the overcooked meat, the server said they would take off two cocktails(which were good) the bill from when we first arrived. We ordered a fine cabernet and asked to decant while we enjoyed our cocktail. The server poured the wine into the decanter in record speed and let the sediment pour from the bottle into inside the neck of the decanter. When the lead hostess asked how everything was, we said very disappointing. And we explained the above with some evidence. Regarding the $110.00 bottle of wine, we were told that one of the servers was just filling in as she regularly is a waitress at a sports bar. Regarding the food, the hostess heard others had complained about the beef wellington. And she wanted to hurry back to the kitchen and hopefully avoid any other issues with the desert.
She offered to buy us a round, however, the experience made us just want to leave. Left a full tip. However, there was NO customer copy. Basics.
Knowing how to decant and serve wine is no more that 15 minute lesson with an occasional 5 minute follow up. If you are going to serve fine wine, serve it with respect and care..
Soup spoons and desert forks are another fundamental.
The ambiance is very nice and I hope the establishment succeeds as it has great potential, if they get back to basics. I am not sure the beef wellington should be served as it is a challenging meal that requires a great deal of patience and control.
Hi Sparky, Thank you for your well thought out review and giving us specific points to bring back to the staff for training and improvement. We apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. As the server who poured your wine, I am truly embarrassed that I rushed through such an important part of your dining experience. It is something I have learned from and will always consider in the future. Thank you
we went for Valentines and while it was a little pricey it was expected for a holiday and we will go back as food and service were great
We love coming to Mendon 64. We feel so comfortable and the staff is very friendly and pleasant. Food is delicious and the service is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Hi Rachel, Thank you for the great review and recommendation! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Caring service and delicious food in a pleasant "vintage house" setting. We will definitely return!

First time going to Mendon 64, and it did not disappoint. It was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Nice ambience in a beautifully restored older building. Looking forward to going again and sitting outside. I highly recommend Mendon 64!!
