Very nice experience. Good quality of ingredient. Food service. Menu was good.
Bearing in mind this was the last night before lockdown 2 and it was as busy as could be within the social distancing guidelines, they did a good job. Looking forward to returning as soon as they are open again.
We were fairly disappointed considering the great reviews on Trip Adviser.
The restaurant was really cold.
The starters of croquettes and crispy squid were very good, particularly the squid.
We had to remind the staff to bring our wine, we had finished one sharing starter and had started the second one and the wine still hadn’t been served. Then the waiter forgot to bring the wine cooler.
The seafood risotto main had very little seafood in it. The pork main was slightly tough and lacking in flavour.
Fantastic meal. Great food and service. Thoroughly recommend it.
Lovely authentic tapas restaurant, definitely on the pricey side, but well worth the cost. The food was fantastic.
Very nice place for dinner. They have a wide variety of the Spanish cuisine.
Really friendly staff and environment.
I only missed vegan options (I'm Spanish and I know loads of typical dishes that are actually vegan or you can make them vegan)
The veggie rice was ok, but I think it can be highly improved if they change the pickled artichokes (they were kind of sour) and the aubergine ( it doesn't fit with Valencian rice). They could add other veggies as peppers, green onions, green beans, chickpeas, regular artichokes... Just my opinion.
Starters were absolutely amazing, bravas were so well done (I missed some vegan all I oli).
The rice from Huelva was really good as well as the wine we ordered.
About the desserts, we couldn't ask for any as they don't offer any vegan option. Again, easy Spanish-vegan desserts exist.
It is kind of a pitty because the restaurant and staff is lovely, I cannot recommend enough this place...
But I think the menu doesn't offer enough dishes for all the people (gluten free, vegan, vegetarian...). So that they cannot enjoy the full experience
Staff were amazing, very knowledgable and lovely to speak to. Drinks were also great. Food was disappointing, didn't have a ton of flavour.
Really lovely place to have my birthday party 🥳 with my family 💕
Tables uncomfortably close for social distancing. Staff were lovely but the food disappointing, especially considering the price. Wouldn't go back
Returning customer and the menu is evolving with some brilliant new additions and a varied specials board . Razors clams , Queen scallops and Prawn croquettes all glorious for a shared starter .
Excellent Lemon Sole for the wife and a gorgeous Arroz Negra . Black rice with octopus and prawns .
Already booked in 2 weeks time .
Great food and lovely service! Would definitely recommend to others
Fabulous food, with great range of fresh fish and seafood to choose from. Everything was perfectly cooked and the service was really friendly. It’s also got great decor.
Great dinner at Mercado Central. Having lived in Spain, it is great to have such an authentic Spanish restaurant in Cambridge. The fish and seafood is fresh and delicious. The service very good. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon!
I absolutely loved Mercado Central. I'm Spanish and it really felt like eating at mum's. The food is super fresh and the flavours amazing. I would definitely recommend to everyone to go there and I'll definitely be a regular!
High quality, authentic Spanish food - would highly recommend!
Excellent food and a lively atmosphere. Back again soon I hope!
Lovely food, lovely sangria, the atmosphere was good and the service was very fast and attentive. Very reasonably priced too!
Lovely and very authentic spanish food. Reslly nice staff and great ambiance.
Had dinner on a Friday night. Restaurant was very busy. Social distancing was not observed. I ordered a shared started, the fried calamari was nice. For a main I ordered the sole and my guest ordered the seafood paella. The sole had no flavor whatsoever and while it was moist it was not worth the £27 I was charged for it. The paella had only a few small pieces of sea food and tasted “ok”. The sangria was also less than enjoyable. During our meal the waiter only checked on us once and never offered or brought drink refills. I don’t feel that this experience is representative of this establishment and I am confident that it has been difficult dealing with COVID restrictions. However, I was dissatisfied with the food, especially given the price, and also very unhappy with the service.
Delicious, fresh and inventive food, excellent wine. Charming service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Will definitely return.
The food was good, the service was lovely, this is our favourite place to eat in Cambridge!
Mercado Central is a really nice place and it has good quality food. I loved the croquetas and the octopus the most and the fish counter too (difficult to find in Uk). I recommend it for a nice dinner with friends or with your partner to celebrate something.
My main concern was with the social distancing not respected ...we were very close to other tables and so people and because of lot of people in a small place the noise level was very high. Almost impossible to hear my friends. I would then advice to review this. Also, some plates are a bit expensive.
Delicious food and great staff. Can’t wait to return again !
Great Tapas - we had selection of prawns, squid, sausage. Perfect bread to dip. Loved everything about Mercado
Such a lovely evening. The food was insane, lovely and helpful staff
Absolutely amazing! The pics don't make justice to how great the restaurant looks. The food was fantastic and service did not disappoint. Would recommend and We will be back for sure. We had a great time, it was a very special one year anniversary.
Amazing food, perfect service and lovely atmosphere. The octopus was outstanding!!
Friendly service and helpful service. Delciously prepared, freshly cooked food. A very enjoyable lunch, requiring a return visit!
Fantastic food, authentic Spanish with very high quality food and service. Highlights were the octopus, Jamon Iberico and the delicious croquetas. Highly recommended for a special lunch.
Excellent food, Service and ambiance. Easily one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in town.
When you walk in and see fresh seafood in an ice tray, just like a fishmonger, sitting, socially distanced, on the counter, you only hope they'll cook it well. In fact ours was cooked to perfection. We've been twice in a week. Enough said!
Excellent authentic food made from great produce. Staff really looked after us and the general vibe made eating out a real pleasure in these uncertain strange times. Can’t wait for my next visit!!!
Brilliant food well prepared and good service. Will definitely be visiting again.
A real gem. The best Spanish food I have ever experienced outside of Spain. The pork was tender and beautifully flavoured and the octopus and black rice equally delicious. The patatas brava were the best I have ever eaten anywhere. The puddings were gorgeous too. The restaurant is really well situated and the service was excellent. It’s not inexpensive but then food of this standard is rarely cheap. Highly recommended.
Amazon on every level, freshly cooked food, great wine list and friendly efficient service’
Tables were not appropriately distanced for dining during covid.
Delicious food, good wine and great service. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and I will go back.
Amazing as always. Fresh fish so good. Tomato salad. Bravas. Iberico hams .
