Say outside, quietly watching the sun set across the river. Staff was very welcoming & attentive. Food came quickly and served hot and was very good. My fish & chips cooked perfectly, wife’s chicken sandwich was huge. Great dinner, will return.
Waitress was rude and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Rolled her eyes at every question and request- we didn’t ask for much at all. That was the only issue.
Food is not the best but beautiful location.
Went when not very busy. Ordered the chicken sandwich and the bread was stale. Still ok. The server was attentive in the least. Never came to check on us when passing by we asked for dessert menu and he never came back. Asked another server for check and left.
The food is amazing. Our server was not always available, but we truly had a great meal and it was a beautiful view. Lobster Mac and cheese waffle cone was incredible! Will go back for that for sure!
Took forever to get food.
Very disappointing. We had 7:45 reservations and received a text at 6:00 pm that our table was ready. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly but then largely ignored. Once the waitress came over, we ordered everything at once because we didn’t know if she would come back! Unfortunately, they brought all of our appetizers and entrees at the same time. Our small table couldn’t handle the plates. No one ever came back to get us more drinks or to ask if we wanted dessert. They lost a lot of money on us. I chased someone down for water and we chased someone else down for a check.
The location on the water is the best thing they can offer.
Superb server. View is terrific. Avocado fries amazing!!!
Service was very friendly and helpful; food was served quickly , was hot and good
Only go here for the view because you’ll be disappointed by the food and service.
Good food, well overpriced. Great view. Enjoyed my time their but will not go back
Great food, great staff, and great view
Food was nothing spectacular. Had the shrimp scampi and my friend had the cauliflower steak. She felt the steak was in a small plate and hard to eat since the plate was so small. The scampi was ok but a bit watery. They definitely wanted to turn our table once we were done, no time to linger.
5 mosquito bites from Indoor dining
Excellent service. Food was great. A bit hot outside with minimal shade. That would be our only complaint.
The trees blocked the scenery and the avocado fries had more mayonnaise than aioli and no wasabi
Great place and beautiful views
Made us feel welcome! It was a wonderful experience and I thank the company for making my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend so special.
Wanted to treat my mother that was in town on her last night to a sunset dinner and found this place on OpenTable. Let's just say ... 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. The service was horrible! We were seated and waited 10+ mins to be given water when the rest of the party joined us we waited another 10+ mins to take our drink order ( 4 of us and 3 of us ordered the same drink. ) The drinks took 20 Mins to come out. it was only after we said something did anyone inform us that they were down a bartender and drinks were running slow (we had already been at the table for upwards of 30 mins and the table next to us didn't seem to have any troubles getting their drinks out.)
When the food finally arrived only 3 of the 4 meals arrived with no indication of when the 4th meal would arrive ( of course it was my mother's meal that was delayed) so again we waited 5 mins and no food it's only when I got up to get us silverware ( we had been sitting for close to 50 mins t this point and no silverware) and inquire about the meal was I told that it takes a little longer to prepare than the other dishes. SO WHY NOT START THAT ONE FIRST???????? Honestly, it's my worst pet peeve when a table doesn't get their food delivered together only to be told that XYZ takes longer to make, like umm I am not in the kitchen, I don't know that! so either time it right to make it come out with the other food OR let me know so perhaps I might make another food selection.
no one ever asked us if we wanted another drink, no one asked us if we wanted a dessert. eve though I mentioned on the reservation that we were there for a special occasion. tried to get a to-go box, given the wrong lids for the boxes. lol it was just a night full of errors.
so all in all, I won't return. And this is coming from a person that used to work as a server and still works in the hospitality industry. ( and 2 others at the table do too, so trust we are all VERY forgiving but this was just a bit ridiculous.)
It was a birthday weekend celebration. Night before restaurant (different restaurant) made family feel welcomed, special, acknowledged the occasion etc. Not the case at all here which is okay, but certainly a contrast. Seating was quick but slow after that. Had to ask for dessert menu, then the check, then again to take our check so we could finally be on our way. Completely understand places are short staffed and packed our patience. But there were several empty tables and workers were just standing around talking to each other. Food was okay. View was beautiful!
One of the best water view restaurants in Manhattan. Simple menu but all things we had were very good.
Great spot with The view ! Food is fresh, and tasty , friendly staff. Just wish they had more vegetarian options.
Nice place for a relaxed lunch on a Saturday (although we were surprised that only the brunch menu was available at 2:30pm). Table ready when we go there. Attentive waitress, good quality food (Ceasar's salad, burger and lobster roll) at decent prices. Had a table next to the window with a great view of the river and NJ skyline, with even a peek to the Statue of Liberty.
Great casual bistro fair
The waiter approached my friend several times inappropriately and made advancements towards her. Gave her extra shots in the drink and whispered in her ear. She got so nervous and uncomfortable that she needed an escort to the bathroom. Definitely a place for a girl’s night out, not.
It was very good overall . We had a lovely time , food was all good .
You pay do the location/view more than anything.
Wait staff was inattentive.
The service was horrible. Waitress had to ask the manager about everything, place was dirty, staff was dropping and breaking glass everywhere multiple times/yelling at one another, we had to ask for staff to clear our plates. Even the customers to the table next to us were so annoyed about the entire experience they complained to us without us even mentioning anything.
Food was fair at best and value was overpriced due to the location being on the water. Our salad was missing part of the order and the staff never checked up on us to see how things were going. Management needs to address service and assure proper service is being provided to customers.
A somewhat limited menu but there was enough to choose from. Enjoyed the salmon entree. Server may have been new. Our apps came the same time as the entrees which is really annoying however the overall experience was good and would give it another try when in the area again.
Burger was great!
Waiter was attentive!
The Froze was amazing, the service was great. Will definitely go again.
What a charming place! Not overly large, great outdoor seating with beautiful views and casual enough for everyday. Even better was a great menu with a diverse variety of options and substantial cocktail and wine list.
The dearest loved his burger and the fish & chips were sublime.
It was our first time dining out since before the pandemic and our 1 year wedding anniversary.
The host made sure we were at a corner outdoor table, very far from others, all the waiters wore masks, and we had full coverage from a large umbrella; throughout several downpours of rain, we remained dry.
The service was excellent, the waiter and bussers were lovely.
We will definitely be back!
Fabulous views of the Hudson!
Beautiful view and delicious food! Will be back!
Smaller place than I thought. Table was near exit door with draft from incoming patrons. Overall food was good, service very friendly and the view of the river and sunset over NJ was gorgeous
Great location, great atmosphere, great food. A very nice way to spend an evening.
We dine at Merchant's in the past. On father's day we ate there and it was very disappointing. The salmon my husband ordered was cold and undercooked. My salmon was just ok- nothing to go back to the restaurant for. My daughter's mac and cheese was also not hot and not very tasty. We ordered the Octopus apptized and that was fine.
While the views are nice, I would not recommend the restaurant for anything other than a burger. The entrees were disappointing. I don't know why the quality of the food has declined versus other visits but if you are hungry, it's risky to eat there.
The restaurant is relatively small but is in a great location along the water. There is a limited menu but the food was tasty. I recommend getting the lobster cone. The wait staff was pleasant. I recommend getting a table outside just make sure the umbrella is not in direct sunlight or it can still be hot on sitting out there when the temperature is at its peak. Would definitely go again.
Fish and Chips were very good. Great for river views.
