MERE is husband and wife team, Monica and David Galetti's first restaurant.
Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.
The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

Mere Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely excellent food. Some unusual ideas but the quality and the taste, first class. We had the 7 course taster menu so that we could get the feel and style of the restaurant and we weren't disappointed!! I would recommend this approach but with the recommended drinks for each course. We were out the night before on an xmas bash and not ready for too much booze but looking at the suggested wines and port it looked the biz.
Fantastic food, the 6 course taster was great value and allowed you to try more of the food but smaller portions, the waiting staff very well prepped on the food and what wines complimented each dish, overall brilliant experience and of course Monica comes out and speaks to her customers. Love it, 😄
This was my second visit to Mere, and it was a sheer pleasure to be able to dine here again. All staff genuinely appear to love what they do and it shows.
The menu is a wonderful combination of flavours, textures and cooked to perfection. I especially recommend the lobster.
Had a great meal at Mere and would definitely recommend it. Staff were pleasant and served well. If I had one small criticism, we would have liked the sommelier to have engaged more and explained the wine choices as they went with the taster menu. I often find this helps me appreciate the food more. However all the staff were very pleasant and atmosphere was relaxed. Food was excellent.
Had the pleasure of meeting the owner on exit and he was very pleasant and happy to chat. (Although my wife had really hoped it would be Monica she would meet for a bit of hero worship!)
All in all a great night out.
The Galettis have been let off the leash and, free from the constraints of the resolutely French le Gavroche, they are free to indulge their creativity on both the menu and the wine list. The tasting menu and accompanying wine offered some highly unusual but nonetheless successful pairings (Monica is a great chef but all credit to David who is one heck of a master of wine and, as we learned at le Gavroche, his wine suggestions make the food positively sing). The deceptively simple menu belied the skill and subtlety required to deliver such delicious flavours. Both Monica and David appeared to be very hands on and welcomed diners with genuine warmth. That set the tone for the rest of service which was utterly professional but not at all stuffy or pretentious. I cannot believe this place wasnt even half full when we went. Go - you will not be disappointed!
The tasting menu was big on flavour but not too heavy with courses being light and well balanced. What I really loved was the wine pairings - really innovative and unusual choices picked on compatibility rather than classical reputation. Finally one big note of thanks to the staff for being so accommodating and friendly with our 15 month old daughter. Fine dining and parenthood are gladly not mutually exclusive propositions at Mere
Exceptional cooking and service. Monica and David have taken their experience and created something of their own. The tasting menu and wine flight shows off what they can do. Possibly, indeed probably, the best fine dining experience we have had. We had 'the works' and paid the price but it looked possible to be less extravagant and still have a great time. As it was exceptional perhaps I should give 5 stars across the board but if saying 4 on VFM does not detract I feel more comfortable with that. Other diners might think 5 stars is justified and I would not argue.
I went to Mere with four friends. We enjoyed being able to sit and have a drink at the bar and the fact that we weren't hurried to our table. The food was amazing - it was well presented, interesting and above all delicious. My one regret was that I didn't have enough room for dessert (although the tastes I had from other people's plates was delicious!). There was an excellent wine list and the menu was varied enough to cater to all tastes. Special mention must go to the attentive staff who ensured we were all very well looked after. I would definitely go back.
We visited Mere to celebrate our son's 21st birthday and had a very enjoyable evening. We had pre dinner drinks in the upstairs bar and there was a great choice of cocktails, something for everyone. Throughout the evening the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, without being intrusive. The food was superb, the octopus and monkfish being particular favourites of our party. The atmosphere in the restaurant was comfortable and friendly and we won't hesitate to return there. A hand written note to our son from Monica and David was a lovely touch at the end of the meal, and much appreciated.
Without question a must visit restaurant . Simply cannot fault it. Everything that a top class restaurant should be. From the minute we opened the door to leaving utterly spoilt be great service, gorgeous food, fabulous wine pairing , amazingly attentive staff. 2 hours of utter bliss !
We had a lovely evening at mere on Saturday. The service was outstanding- professional, friendly, pleasant and genuine. The decor and atmosphere are both very good and due to clever design, it doesn’t feel like the restaurant is in the basement. Interesting wine list and very good food, with some clever combinations. Nice little extra touches too.
Our second time here and a chance to taste the new season’s menu. A few changes with a couple of new welcome meat & fish variations.
Adam the barman upstairs kept us very entertained and there was no pressure for us to be seated at our booking time. A lovely experience once again with delightful flavours and I have to say some of the best wine pairing I’ve experienced.
