Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.

The restaurant itself serves european dishes that have been delicately created by Monica and Alberto our Head Chef.
Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, managed by our Mixologist Glenn, which serves an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David , is in charge of the Front of House at Mere with his Restaurant Manager Nicola, and using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Alexandre that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

    Took tasting menu All courses excellent Venison was the highlight Outstanding The dessert course was a bit skimpy It was delicious but I would estimate about an eighth of the a la carte serving Wine list was very good and the sommelier was very helpful A very good experience

    The food was original and inventive but the portions were rather large and some of flavours got lost. The service was attentive but a loud man in the corner talked incessantly to his female companion who looked rather bored. It was quite hard work to speak to each other and only improved when the room filled up. He seemed a regular and the wait staff seemed unwilling to deal with and we didn’t want to spoil our own meal making a scene.

    I love coming back here - always delivers and a little gem within Fitzrovia. The food is elegant and opulent without being overbearing. We had two vegetarians with us and were delighted to see so much on offer for them. I had the lobster and it was superb.

    The food was fantastic, we had the tasting menu. Service good, not many people there for a Saturday lunchtime so ambience a little lacking. Bits of tatty paintwork on some walls and cobwebs on some lights. The noise from the kitchen was awful! If this restaurant is going for a Michelin star, kitchen noise and decor would need to be greatly improved. However, the food was fantastic as I said and we enjoyed all of the courses.

    It was absolutely outstanding in every single way, including a visit to our table from monica herself which was just the cherry on top!!! Service was exceptional, food and wine out of this world. All in all I would definitely recommend !!!

    We arrived at Mere and had a couple of delicious cocktails at the bar. A waiter took our A La Carte order while we were there. We were taken down to our table and after our wine arrived the food came almost immediately. We found the food a bit hit and miss unfortunately, some was delicious, some underwhelming. For example the monkfish was beautifully cooked but the liquorice flavour too subtle perhaps, the lemon a bit medicinal tasting and it seemed under seasoned to me. My wife loved her lobster dish though. The meal was very quick and it felt so hyper-efficient that it seemed like we were being rushed through. Our table was booked for 7pm and we'd finished our three course meal by 7.50! We were served two "amuse bouche's" and some bread before our starter and I would have preferred it if the whole meal was spaced out and they were served in between courses (as they do at No6 Padstow) so we had more time to digest our courses before the next one. All in all it was very nice but not as great as we'd hoped.

    Fabulous food. Appreciated flexibility on the tasting menu swapping one of the meat dishes for one from veggie tasting menu. Sommelier Alex very knowledgeable & interesting & wine flight was the perfect accompaniment. Perfect meal!

    Our booking was for 18:00. We arrived 10 mins before but as Mere doesn’t open until 18:00, we had to wait a little (I think they let us in a couple of minutes early). I had hoped that it would be open to float in a bit sooner but my expectation wasn’t the reality there so I cannot fault it for my own make believe. As soon as the doors opened, it was like walking into a space of calm. Muted colours, attractive lighting and a perfume in the air. Our coats were whisked away and we took our place at the bar for cocktails and a moment to muse the surroundings. We moved to the dining area which was serine and comfortable. We had the tasting menu, discovery wine pairings and asked for an additional starter to begin with as we’d never tried sweetbreads and promised we would if we came across it on a menu somewhere. What came next was course after course of pure joy. Beautiful, flavourful and so good looking. We ended up a little giggly from the wine. The people working there were at ease and lovely, extremely efficient at their work. We’ve only been to maybe three different 1 Michelin starred restaurants before hand but I don’t see what they had that this restaurant doesn’t. Such a pleasure. Thank you Mere

    Very good from start to finish. The service was attentive without being obtrusive and everyone we can into contact was friendly. The courses were some of the best we have had in London and would definitely return or recommend to friends for a special occasion.

    Lovely tasting menu. Wine match was great too. It was busy and we waited a while for our amuse bouches and first drinks at our table, but it was worth it. Would recommend.

    It was a real shame that we did not have the expected experience, we had booked our visit to Mere a year ago and we were very excited. The welcome was exceptional and the staff in the bar were really lovely but once we got to our table the service wasn’t great, we understand that there are staff shortages but there did seem to be a lot of staff, we ordered the tasting menu with the more expensive wine option, the food took ages to arrive and we had finished our wine on 2 occasions before our food had come. I am sad to leave this negative review but the amount we paid, which we had saved; did not reflect what we received. We should have said something to our waiter at the time.
