Great food and service
Been looking for something up here then taco shops.
Wonderful food. It is probably some of the best Mexican food I’ve had…
We started with a 15 minutes wait, but it went fast as there was some live music. After we were seated, it all started well and we were greatest quickly with home made chips. The salsa was not great, but we finished the chips quickly and we even had another basket. This is where it all started going in a terrible direction. We found a (very long) hair in the chips. We called the manager, he quickly apologized and said he would talk to the chef. He never came back after. Our appetizers came reasonably on time, but we had to wait for another 10 minutes just to get our drinks. The entrees were super slow. We waited for more than 50 minutes. We were at least hoping it would be worth the wait, but it was average quality and not worth the price. Finally, we got a dessert on the house, but it was average and we did not finish it.
Advice to Management : please invest in better service and better food quality before investing in music (which was very loud, by the way). We will never come back here.
Food and drinks were great! (Though they ran out of the drink i originally wanted). The waiter told us that they were really busy and that the food might take a little longer. Appreciated that heads up. Chips and salsa were brought to our table, were also good! It was Friday night, there was live music, which was awesome! It was pretty loud for the small space though(they couldn’t turned it down just a tiny bit), we couldn’t talk to each other too much. But overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back.
Took long time for the food to come out. Then it's not as hot as expected... waiter is not attentive.
Excellent service. It was a great place for a girls night out, sitting in the patio area. However, we waited over 30 minutes for our entrees to arrive, even without ordering appetizers. Super friendly server! His drink recommendation was on point.
Food is just ok imho
It took over an hour and a half to get the food after placing the order.
As much as we’ve always liked Mextizo our last visit was a bit disappointing. Service was off as was some of the food. Our waiter said they were short handed. Patio seating is very nice and we will try again.
Amazing ambiance, wonderful service. Severely understaffed due to Covid and long wait for food. Give them a few weeks to get into the swing of a full restaurant full of people before you try!
Great dining experience!!
This was a great place. It was our first time going. Really good food and amazing drinks!! Highly recommend it!!
Good experience. Wait staff and bar staff seemed shorthanded. Caused delays in serving. They did the best they could given the circumstances.
We had a great dinner here. My first time here and I enjoyed the salmon enchiladas and the calamari appetizer. The variety of seafood tacos was also excellent. The red wine sangria was good and so was the blood orange drink. Service was great and I’m sure I’ll be back soon.
The table service was friendly and attentive but it took 2 hours to get our food. The tables were appropriately spaced and the food was fine.
Our server Adriana was great! She took our order right away and brought our drinks. There was an error on one of beverages which she realized and comped the error even though we were OK with the beverage. Food was good, slightly salty for me but I don't expect restaurants to keep the sodium down to what I'm used to at home. Ambiance was great and outdoor patio perfect! Would definitely go back.
very happy with the quality of the menu and the food especially the guac and the enchilada suizas. portions were on the larger size.
will return soon.
Our 1st time for my birthday. Food took so long almost 1 hour 45 min since we seated. Our reservation was 6pm, we got seated 6:30pm
food was served 8:30pm!!
All were busy, steaks were not ascexpected for a $ 38 n asado tacos too small 3 pcs. for $ 18!
Drinks too were 1/3 wine glass for $ 12!
NOT GOING BACK!!!
Not greeted me nor no complimentary bday dessert neither!!
The person who checked us in wasn’t very nice, the rest of the experience was great
Food was excellent. Service from the bar was slow as the patio had music and was really busy. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, staff was friendly. It was just weird sitting so far away from others, but was glad to be able to eat indoors. It was a little cold indoors likely due to increased ventilation. It was good enough to say I'll be back!
Took 40 minutes for our drink order to be taken down and about 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, our food order was taken after but thankfully our food order only took about 15 minutes to get out to us, they said because they only had one bartender mind you we had only ordered shots. The waitress was amazing and this review does not reflect on her but on a Saturday night I was expecting better.
Excellent food and service. Brought colleagues for a team building dinner. Perfect setting!
Loved this restaurant! Great outside seating...The food was excellent and the drinks delicious! Service was top-notch. We are definitely going back!
First time dining out in 2021. Food and service were very good.
Good food, great Cocktails, attentive service. This is the Blue Door Restaurant re-done as Mextizo. The re-do is very successful.
Overall, everything was just OK. The food was decent, the service was slow, they missed a few things (forgot a drink order, charged us for the drink order, took silverware away, didn't bring back a new set), but overall just an OK experience. Not bad, not great, just OK.
Very understaffed. Our server was quite pleasant and enjoyable, but everything was extremely slow. Drink orders, during delivery, food orders, food delivery, chip refills, all unacceptably slow. They have just changed the format of the restaurant, so hopefully these things will get worked out. We will try again, probably six months down the road.
I had high hopes for this restaurant since we traveled 45 mins to have dinner there. Ambiance was nice and the music was fantastic but we waited OVER AN HOUR to get our meals. Also the waiter got our appetizers wrong but it was okay because the guacamole was bomb. Maybe they had a lot of their staff call off because almost everyone sitting near us got their food an hour later as well. The waiters were nice though and apologized for the wait so we are willing to try it again if we just end up in San Jose for some reason.
Took almost 2 hours for food to come out and then it wasn't even good. Drinks were good but would pass on this place.
Good food. Great cocktails. Very pleasant wait staff.
Entire staff was great; welcoming and friendly. Food came out fast and delicious!
Great service Jiger was our server he was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the salmon Yucatán. I am coming back for it again!!
We waited over an hour to get our food. The waiter barely checked on us and we had to ask a different waiter to help us. We were even celebrating my husbands birthday but the service wasn’t there. We’ve been here before and it was so much better the first time. Pretty disappointed.
Mextizo has become our local favorite. We eat there about once a week. Everything is fresh and tasty. The enchiladas suizas, carne asada tacos, and fried fish tacos are cravable favorites. The queso makes a wonderful appetizer and tortilla soup is perfect for lunch or lighter dinner choice. The best thing about their food is that they make the tortillas fresh. The service is always outstanding. The decor is comfortable and the noise level is enough to not be boring but not so much you can’t visit with those at your table. Overall, if you haven’t been here, you’re missing out!
Great atmosphere and amazing service!
Long wait, terrible service, overpriced food and selection is limited.
They were taking reservations for days they were closed.....
Great atmosphere, service, food, and drinks! Their outdoor area was so welcoming too.
Outstanding service and wonderful food. Will definitely go back again and again.
The ideal place to meet up with friends. Wonderful service with great food.
