It's time to say “Hola” to Mezcal Glasgow, ¡Ay-ay-ay! Mezcal, opening this September on Hope Street will serve up contemporary Mexican inspired street food - and of course, a wide range of cocktails from Margarita’s to Horchata! Food was bland. Service was decent but nothing special. Place looks cool but lacking substance.

First time trying Mezcal, I will definitely return. The staff were friendly, knew there menu and had a bit of patter which was in tone with the canteen style. Tried a variety from the menu and must say all was excellent, fresh and tasty. Food and drink reasonably priced.

Excellent food. The beef tacos were brilliant. Service was attentive but not over the top and the margaritas were very good! Can’t wait to go again!

Everything was great, except the loud music in the smaller space made it really difficult to hear eachother over dinner. Would have liked it a bit quieter.

I was expecting a host of different flavours. But was left disappointed. Maybe it was the vegan tortillas they use which in my opinion took over the flavour of the food. I rarely leave a bad review but in this case I need to. The ambiance wasn't good.

Was alright, food all tasted a bit samey and there are other Mexican restaurants in city centre which I go back to first. Frozen cocktails were good, the draft beer seemed a reasonable price for a pint but it turned out to be small glass which I thought was a bit sneaky!

Got together with family and there is no better place than an informal Mexican Street food meal at Mezcal.
We tried just about everything between the 4 of us, plus beers, cocktails, and flights. Food was great, drinks, a good selection, service was attentive and relaxed. Would have stayed longer except Scotland were due their annual beating by England at rugby.

Fantastic food and service! Staff could not have been more helpful and were fab encouraging the kids to colour in. There wasn't a single bad dish with a range of tacos, burritos, quesadillas and sides tried. Our new favourite Mexican restaurant in Glasgow!

I loved celebrating my birthday in Mezcal. As a Mexican I think that the atmosphere, drinks and food are quite authentic and pays great tribute to Mexican culture. The staff is always very friendly and they gave me a special treatment on my birthday, I really felt a little closer to home. I hope that some food recommendations we talked about appear soon on the menu. Looking forward to go back very soon to tomar dos. 😘

Restaurant interior is gorgeous, but quite compact. For our large party bench seating was provided with nowhere to hang coats etc. Staff member when asked provided an empty chair in the corner to put our things on, which solved the issue but seemed to be a hassle. In fact the service staff whilst pleasant did appear to be generally ruffled as the restaurant was busy. Food is great and well priced but some dishes lacked a bit of spice (make sure you get a selection of hot sauces if not already on your table). Also worth mentioning the music is played loud here.

Second visit to Mezcal in a month, great first time even better this time.
We were sat at a table for 4 for the 2 of us, if that makes sense. Much more room to serve the several plates and great drinks. Last time a table for 2 was a little small, and we seemed to be getting buzzed around by the waiting staff, not so relaxed.
Food was even better, it’s so authentic Mexican street food, so fresh and flavoursome. Just kept adding the variety of hot sauces and soured cream to the taco, burrito, quesadilla......... It was fun casual eating with great attentive service.
Oh! Please try the Pico Mezcal, it’s a creat addition to cut through the spicy food.
5 stars, well done Mezcal, and brilliant food chef.
