Very disappointing drink and meal at The Stratford. I had specifically booked on a Thursday to enjoy the DJs that would be playing and even called up on the day to double check and was told there would definitely be DJs. When we arrived it was very quiet, no DJs, just background music. We sat down on the sofas for a drink from 6 - 7pm which were perfectly pleasant but certainly not worth the £12 price tag. We then moved to Kitchen E20 for dinner which was a wholly disappointing experience. The food was extremely average and massively over priced. I ordered the lamb, which was overcooked, and my boyfriend ordered the wagyu beef burger, which was also overcooked but they also didn't even ask how he'd like it. The Mac 'n' Cheese had a weird flavour I couldn't put my finger on and the chicken starter just tasted like a smokey fire. To top it all off the music in the restaurant was bizarre and didn't create an enjoyable ambience. All in all it was very disappointing but expensive experience and I wouldn't recommend going.
Was surprised that the bar was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon. But we had no complaints as we had delicious cocktails. Also, the empty seats made us feel relaxed and safe too. Definitely will be back.
We had 3 cocktails and one was an espresso martini. This wasn’t on the menu but they assured us they were happy to make it. When it arrived it did not taste like an espresso martini and had some kind of Sambuca in it. We did ask them and they explained that they do their own twist on it. They did then change it for us. We were there for around 45 minutes and in that time we had one drink as no one asked if we wanted any more or checked on us. When I finally got the attention of the bar staff I asked for the bill. They automatically added a 12.5% service charge which would usually be fine but given the extremely average experience we didn’t feel we should pay it. When we paid they actually asked us why we didn’t want to pay the service charge and said they have to ask why! It was very uncomfortable for us and such a shame as all of the other aspects of the hotel and restaurant were nice. The cocktails were very average and over priced.
Thank you for your review. Your feedback is really appreciated and I will address it with our team to improve the service. Hope to see you again.
Lovely ambiance, I had the tropical ice tea, it was nice, could have been stronger. Nice range of alternative cocktails (did not order any food)
Went with girlfriends, was a lovely experience. It’s beautiful inside and they had a live singer, who was very good, but not overbearing. Cocktails was great, staff were polite and attentive. Would definitely go again.
The drinks are really top notch - The "M" Martini being a standout. A great atmosphere made even better by the wonderful staff whom are entertaining, knowledgeable and attentive.
There for drinks, which were great. Staff attentive for the most part and really friendly. Had a great vibe and a DJ which made it a little loud but not enough that we couldn't talk as a group! Our new favourite spot!
Such a great evening! We loved the Drag Bingo. The cocktails were great and the food tasty too. But the best was the staff that looked after us with great care, attention and passion. Thank you all so much
