Fantastic restaurant. Food was loveky; service attentive. Great value overall.
Excellent food with friendly, attentive service and a relaxing ambience. Full social distancing rules followed with staff wearing masks and cutlery delivered in packaging. A lovely experience overall and excellent value for money with the eat out to help out offer.
The haggis was a bit disappointing for me, not spicy enough. I suppose everyone is different in how they like their haggis.
great food good service and a good job done with the protection screens
Usual high standard from Mharsanta under unusual circumstances. Felt comfortable with the measures that they have put in place.
Booked very last minute and can say we were definatley not dissapointed. Lovely welcome at the front door, very friendly staff with great customer service and the food was delicious. Will certainly be back !!!
Steak and sausage pie was lovely, highly recommend
Food was fantastic and the service have done a wonderul job of covid-proofing everything. 10/10
Lovely food and enough space between the tables. Pleasant, helpful staff
We had a lovely meal and the service was great. Even with the social distancing
Fantastic food, great service will definitely be back again !!
We had a lovely time for our first time coming to the restaurant.
Good food and quick and punctual service which we were very impressed by!
The young lady Alex who was looking after us did a grand job and making sure we were looked after and providing a great service. Well done Alex! She’s a keeper! ☺️
This is my second time going to Mharsanta after going with family the first time I had to recommend it to my friend and we went together also! She has now recommended to her family and they have booked to go too! Food was amazing! Staff were amazing! Couldn’t fault anywhere! Also very happy with the health and safety procedures due to covid! I will be back again!
First time, will be back really nice meal and service.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.
Will definitely be back
First meal out since lockdown, Mharsanta did not let us down. Lunch was great, service was great, good music and ambience. A firm favourite since before lockdown, now observing the safety measures and is a safe place for nervous food lovers!
We went on a Tuesday afternoon for a birthday and it was understandably quiet as not many people are out to eat at this time. The girl that served us was very polite and helpful. The food was amazing and at such a great price! My dad got the mince and tatties with the poached egg (which none of us had heard of) but he was pleasantly surprised and loved it! High quality Scottish food with a twist! Will definitely be back! Thank you.
Superb as always and work done for relaunch has been well executed and appears unobtrusive and in keeping with the rest of the restaurant design.
Nice to be eating out again. Felt very safe and the Covid situation well handled
Good and service to usual high standard.
We have visited on several occasions and will continue to do so.
They did everything possible to make our meal a pleasant one. The menu was brief yet varied. The people were lovely and the service was top class.
Lovely meal lovely restaurant,
Staff very pleasant
Lovely meal out, felt very safe, restaurant very organised for social distancing and safety. Totally recommend a visit.
Lovely meal, friendly service, good prices. Realise just opened up as menu had few choices, will definately return.
Fabulous as always, I wanted 2 starters instead of starter & main at lunch time and they were very accommodating. Food is suberb
From booking to walking in the door was easy. The greeter was pleasant , not demanding and very courteous. The service of an outstanding meal was light unobtrusive but constantly on stand by. The food was perfectly cooked and served with little delay between courses. The Scots menu was a pleasure to select from and , happily, Scots in origin. I will not hesitate to send friends to Mharsanta for food or drinks. I shall be back
Great food and service - would highly recommend !
Really good food- Scottish standards but done a bit differently- and to a good standard. Service was friendly and helpful. Thank you - we’ll be back soon!
Very average food and service. The waitress had zero personality and had clearly not been trained properly, giving us no time to peruse menu, leaning over the table, brought bottle of wine already opened to table and placed it down with two glasses and didn’t pour it or ask if we wanted to try it first! Also, bottles of ketchup and mayo brought to all tables which in the light of corona virus is not a great idea. Food was average at best and overpriced, wine not good, poor service and no atmosphere. We will not be back unfortunately.
Great Scottish food well presented. Menu had a lot of choices at competitive prices. Staff were very helpful & attentive. We had a relaxing meal with no pressure from staff. Would totally recommend.
Great food and great service! Been here a few times and will definitely be back again.
The table service wan't great and was a bit odd. Our cutlery was just dumped on the table rather than set out for us. We had to ask multiple times for drinks that got forgotten although it wasn't really that busy. It seemed like our server didn't know what she was doing. I had the veggie haggis, neaps and tatties which wasn't great. Haggis was a ok but a bit tasteless, neaps were watery, potato was ok. I didn't have the sauce with it, which probably covers a multitude of sins, but I think the food should stand on its own without it. The Host at the door was very friendly and helpful though, but I don't feel I would hurry back.
Booked last minute and wasn’t disappointed service and food was fantastic can’t wait the visit again soon
This is the second time eating here and must say the food is delicious.
Service is good and location fantastic.
My wife has some allergies and was catered for also.
first visit, great restaurant, lovely decor, friendly staff, little too noisy but it was a Saturday night, good pricing, great deals on cocktails. we had haggis which was delish and the chicken balmoral, nice but dry.
Would def recommend and def go back
Thank you for taking time to rate and review us, we do hope to welcome you back again soon.
Food was lovely, good relaxed atmosphere but service was a little slow
Thank you for your comments Lyndsay, we will follow this up with our staff to look into why service was a little slower than what we strive to deliver.
This is a nice restuarant with friendly staff. Good choice of food and tasty. Would recommend it.
Thanks for the good review, we are glad you enjoyed your visit
Lovely food and good value lunch deal. Friendly, attentive staff and good atmosphere. I recommend the fish and chips and the cheesecake. We will return and will recommend to friends.
Dined at Mharsanta 2 nights in a row as it was well located for Celtic Connections festival gigs at City Halls and The Old Fruitmarket. Service was friendly, helpful and quick but not rushed, which suited us well as we didn't have a lot of time before our gigs.
The first night I had the Peterhead haddock and chips. The fish was fresh and beautiful cooked (although I like a bubblier batter). The second night I had the veggie burger topped with veggie haggis, which was tasty and moist - the best veggie burger I've had in a long time. Both nights, my fellow diners were very pleased with their meals (beetroot casserole, stovies, steak & sausage pie and the meat burger). Great value both nights, especially the Pre-Theatre Menu we had on the Friday night.
We were a group of five who had booked a table. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and my daughter's choice wasn't available so had to reorder. It came eventually at the same time as the food. So much for a pre-dinner cocktail. Our chosen wine was also out of stock. Overall service very slow. Very very poor choice of gluten free options. Coeliacs and those on gluten free diets should definitely give it a miss. Overall I was really disappointed.
