Absolutely shocking - such a shame on my daughter’s birthday. Half the things on the menu weren’t available; we had to wait over 35 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant wasn’t even quarter full; and the food that came was stale (kettle chips - from a packet!), disgusting (pizzetta and blue cheese sauce) or very disappointing (ice creams). The only nice thing was the burger. Even with the things that were awful taken off, the bill was still £120 for four - and they had the cheek to add a service charge, even though the service was dreadful. Don’t waste your time or money going here.
Open Table allowed me to book for this venue even though it was closed at the time of arrival.
Overall a poor and below par experience. Having been a customer of the booking office for many years, this was a huge disappointment. A very un-attentive and disorganised staff and overcooked poor quality food. I would not recommend. Hopefully the booking office shall return soon and this second rate alternative will be closed.
Very quiet due to Covid but waiting staff couldn't have been more welcoming and lovely. Would go again and recommend highly to friends for the staff alone.
The hotel itself is so beautiful, as you walk through you are prepared for a rooftop version of what you go through. The staff were lovely to us.
You are right beside the trains though, in a not-so-fancy area of the venue.
Hand washing and sanitisation all great, loos beautiful too.
We stayed to take photos in the much nicer areas in the hotel lobby, and staff were unphased and professional.
Food took forever to arrive, then the order was wrong. Extortionate prices (especially for a Childs sandwich. Glass of fizz was warm. Complete rip off! Won't be coming again.
Only Renaissance restaurant open. Menu small, coffee good but breakfast menu limited.
Had a great evening at the Booking Office restaurant with lovely food and cocktails !
We had the sunday lunch it was the best ever
Busy, buzzing restaurant on a Friday evening. Excellent service and very good food, wine and beer. Not cramped either with a very decent amount of room between us and nearby diners. Will definitely go again.
Beautiful building. Lively bar. Tables and seating can be odd. We could not fit our legs under the table, so we had drinks instead of staying for dinner. Excellent service.
Lovely atmosphere, amazing food and drinks...and most important amazing staff
Stunning venue, great ambiance, good service and excellent food. Expensive but so worth it!
Having dined here before on a few occasions, we were looking forward to another treat.
The meal was mainly very good but the restaurant let itself down badly by serving a lukewarm savoury pie, which was returned to be reheated. Despite assurances from the staff that the pie would soon arrive, it was at least 20 minutes before, what can only be called an apology for a pie, was presented . One of the stated pie ingredients was mushrooms but there was a distinct lack of these. In the meantime, those of us who were happy with their mains, had finished eating.
In fairness, the manager did offer us puddings on the house.
Hopefully this was a one off, as we would like to come again.
Service somewhat inattentive. Coffee average quality and tepid. Poor value for money. Ambience good
Starters and mains were gorgeous, pudding was disappointing.
Waiter and his knowledge was brilliant.
Great food and especially fantastic server !
Good service, menu choice is good and the ambience was just right. The short rib burgers were very tasty
Booked online, 1 day before was phoned and reconfirmed my booking, 45 minutes before my booking was informed the restaurant had cancelled my booking for no reason. Immediately phone the restaurant and reconfirmed/rebooked. Arrived at the restaurant and told that my booking had been cancelled. utterly hopeless. Did get a table, in the end, regretted it but the food was overpriced and disappointing.
We had a booking. It took some time to get attention. Service slow, no avocados and poached eggs available. Kedgeree very good.
Very annoying habit of ringing you up to confirm booking. Why do restaurants do this? You have made the booking for a purpose.
very nice Sunday Roast, big portions and delicious.
Good deal for the 2 course Sunday meal with a Sunday roast as the main course! The food was tasty and portions were generous! The venue looks a bit old fashioned and dark and lacks atmosphere... needs a modern revamp!
I arrived on Friday evening at 6:30 with 4 friends. Ordered our meal at 7:00. Starters arrived at 8:00, after we complained. Main course arrived at 9:00 with 2 of the 5 dishes cold. We complained to the Manager, only to be offered some chips. Shocking service and food.
Food and service was excellent. The only criticism is really that some of the tables are fundamentally flawed. Some of the square tables are too low to even sit underneath them. Me and my party couldn’t slide under the table (and I definitely am small siZed). I ate uncomfortably with my chest 350mm away from the table edge and had a aching back. Please change some of the tables and make sure customers can actually sit at the tables properly. Surely someone has reported this before me
Very good service - need more mushy peas :)
The meal itself was perfectly okay but nothing to write home about. However, the restaurant itself was very conveniently situated and in a beautiful building. We could not fault the staff, all of whom were exceedingly helpful, polite and professional. Service was prompt but not rushed. All in all, a very pleasant place to eat, especially in a station!
Excellent service. Amazing food. Could not fault anything.
Great food. Great services. Great atmosphere. Perfect
I went there to surprise my woman for San Valentine.
Got served by Lee. Amazing service from her and an Italian guy with long hair.
Be back again soon!
The extremely load music spoiled our meal completely. What was a tolerable volume increased over the next two hours. We left after our main courses.
We had to wait much time to order, get starters, our wine and finally our mains: the only thing that came fast was the bill.
Half our food was too salty (mussels) and the rest was acceptable albeit expensive.
No. The food is very expensive and not very special. The soup was a miniscule amount and not that hot. The bread roll was almost stale and could have been warmed but wasn't. The baby octopus was not crispy and the taramasalata was just salty, no flavour. My partner was not that impressed with her short rib croquette either.
On the plus side, the service was friendly. It was drafty in there, but then it is a restored ticket hall with very high ceilings, so I suppose I should expect that.
I was there at lunchtime. My own food was good but my guest's was very pedestrian - in fact, pedestrian is the word I would use about the menu.
The service though was excellent.
Wine was good too.
I think the venue is an acquired taste - the Victorian architecture and the high ceilings are lovely but I am not sure if they make a good place to eat.
My feeling is that the Booking Office is very expensive for what is a mixed bag.
Excellent service and food ,definitely worth a visit,
This place is among my top favourite places in London and this time I've chosen it for my birthday. Great choice as always, amazing service offered my Emmanuelle and an amazing chocolate cake which came complimentary for this occasion. Loved it this time as well!
Great food (steak and chips) and service, highly recommended.
Great food but slow service. Overall good experience.
Very nice hotel bar atmosphere. The cappuccino is a must, small little chocolate disc on top, beautifully frothed milk and delicate shortbread to go with it.
Just disappointed in lack of food provision - not as stated on menu - vegetarian roast was a veg pie & didn’t provide the mashed potatoes or cranberry jelly - had to ask for horseradish for roast beef !! All left us feeling slightly disappointed with the visit - will not be rushing back anytime soon
Great evening out, no complaints whatsoever! Just make sure you have a earlier table as there was a very limited menu for us to choose from. The waiter had to take our order twice due to a lot of our original requests not being available any longer!
