I went to Michael Nadra with my husband and another couple as we had been recommended it.
The food was delicious and really beautifully presented. The ambiance was great and the restaurant very trendy.
However, the service was terribly slow. It took 90 minutes to be served our main course. I believe there was a problem in the kitchen although we were only told about it after the 3rd time we asked the waiter why the food was taking so long.
The waiter kindly offered us all deserts and coffees on the house which we appreciated.
I must emphasise that the food was lovely and I would definitely go back, despite the slow service (in a while, when I’ve forgotten about it!). I would recommend Michael Nadra for a special occasion.
A memorable evening of perfectly presented tasty food. Great wine pairings and almost faultless service topped off our meal.
The food as ever was excellent. We both had fish for the mains which was cooked to perfection. The cocktails and wines were good and the service attentive. A lovely venue for a summers evening.
The food and service was excellent. Well done
A lovely local Primrose Hill gem! Would highly recommend the tasting menu!
Outdoor patio was lovely but quite noisy from trains and people passing by. Next time we would eat inside. Service was generally very professional at all levels but seemed very slow between courses and not always attentive to wine and water needs. Otherwise an enjoyable evening with good friends and wonderful food.
Tastey food, good portions and lovely staff . We cant wait until our next meal there .
The food was superb. Imaginative, tasty and proper size portions. I would recommend the restaurant without reservation for a special occasion.
Diverse menu - food was excellent and service was exceptional!
Excellent service and food.
I would actually give this a 4.5 star rating if it were possible. I would give it a 5 and my wife a 4. We both enjoyed it very much and loved the food. But she got the less creative steak option whereas I got the pasta option so she thought it a bit more "standard" than I found the food. The manager was our waiter and excellent, and friendly. The vegetable sides on each of our plates were excellent. The appetizers of the sashimi and crab (my wife) and mine of pork belly were excellent and the desserts of sorbet and the cheesecake globs were also very good. Since we are living in the neighborhood for 2 months and the restaurant is only 6 miles away we will be back several times.
This restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away in Primrose Hill. The decor is lovely and the staff are polite and friendly. Unfortunately, despite there being diners at only 2 other tables, the service was painfully slow. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and an hour before our hors d’oeuvres arrived.
The portions were small but perfect in size, and the presentation and taste were superb.
Our friend’s beef - requested as “medium” - arrives almost mooing, which was a shame. But the server took it back to finish cooking it and returned it as quickly as possible.
The sorbet flavours were weird but wonderful and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was not cheap - £123 per couple for 2 courses plus 2 dessserts between 4 of us, 3 alcoholic drinks and 1 non-alcoholic cocktail and a couple of mint teas- but it was delicious and we will definitely return.
Great food and a really good wine list. Service was also great.
A friendly welcome, interesting menu and beautifully prepared food. The salmon ceviche starter is fabulous! Cocktails also good and well presented. Slightly lacking in atmosphere as not many clients dining alongside us but it did mean the service was excellent.
Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - the food is fantastic value, beautifully presented and so delicious. The venue is funky, modern with a lovely bar and Michael, the chef and owner, often comes to say hi and check diners are enjoying the food, which is a really great personal touch.
The freshly baked rolls are worth a special mention and the guinea fowl lasagne with leeks and truffled mushrooms is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten - anywhere!
Try it - you won’t be disappointed!
Good all across and genuine good service... Would definitely choose the tasting menu again, but not with the pairing wine... There are better on the wine list ;-)
Third time for us at Michael Nadra. Friendly reception. Restaurant nearly empty, very very quiet atmosphere... a little too quiet. House champagne average. Bottle Côte Rotie excellent. Meat very well cooked. Vegs al dente. Bread not good: quality to be improved asap. It was snowing outside (fortunately) and quite freezing in the restaurant.
Had an absolutely fabulous meal and experience. Very attentive but, not intrusive service and the highest quality food in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Excellent drinks, wine pairings too. For all of that, you would expect to pay a lot and we did but, I really feel like it was money well spent and would go back when I return to London.
Excellent service, Excellent food.
My husband came here for his Stag August 2016 & highly recommended it. I was not disappointed. Great quality, good portion size and incredible flavour.
The staff were attentive & would recommend & return.
Pleasant place with pleasant food but not particularly special. The staff were good humoured.
Every one of our dishes (4 people, 6 dishes) was exciting, appetising & flawlessly presented. We loved it
The food is always superb, the service cannot be faulted and the dining area is pleasantly spacious. The lunch menu is extraordinarily good value. Definitely worth a visit.
The food was excellent and the service really poor.
Poor service : the waitresses were arguing several time , quite loudly , not far from our table.
The first round of drinks arrived after the food and the second round when we had almost finished eating . Some plates/drinks were served passing in front of us , instead of being served from the side.
Delicious food for a reasonable price.
So this is a pity and hopefully in the future the service will improved.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal here, with charming attentive service. There was a very friendly vibe, even though the place was fairly empty. Our food was very well presented, full of flavour and made with good fresh ingredients - especially the tuna sashimi - always a good test! We were offered wine tastings to help us make our decision on our wine choice, which arrived in an elegant 'dumpy' decanter. My partner was also given a special birthday dessert with a candle - a very kind gesture. All in a we had a delightful evening. Thank you. Looking forward to a return visit.
Our 4th visit and remains one of our favourite restaurants worldwide. The quality of the food and cooking together with the professional but relaxed service are consistently excellent. The prices are very reasonable and a fraction of what one would expect to pay on the West End. The fact that the restaurant accepts open table dining cheques is a bonus as many restaurants don't!
Found this restaurant online when I was looking for a place to have lunch with a friend not to far from Camden. So glad I did.
The restaurant was quiet when I arrived and throughout lunch, after having my coat suited, I waited for my friend at the bar and had one of the best Negronis I've ever had. Superb.
We ordered from the fixed menu (2 courses for £23), no desserts or wine.
First courses - my friend has a (very) green soup with broccoli and kale, he said it was good, but not great. On the other hand, my salmon cevicce with octopus and citrus touches was sublime. Fresh and tasty.
For mains my friend had the fillet steak which he loved and I had steamed seabass with truffle crisps - again, divine.
Throughout the meal the service was fantastic, just the right balance of professionalism and friendliness. The restaurant is laid out nicely, basically split into 3 rooms, one of which would be perfect for a group event.
Overall, had an amazing time and would definitely return.
PS - sorry I didn't take any photos
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. The kids loved their meal too, saying that it was the best fish and chips ever. The staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. Altogether, a great restaurant and the lunch menu is good value for high quality food. The only let down is that the dining room is a rather soulless, basement room.
The go to restaurant in London. A hidden gem. All staff friendly and very knowledgable. Treated my guests and I like royalty. Michael Nadra the chef made a special dairy free dessert just for me. He is approachable and came to our table. Everyone very happy and will be coming back. Will always be my favourite restaurant.
The food is excellent and the ambience can be enjoyed in a variety of occasions.
The food was so delicious and the service was professional yet relaxed and charming ,
we had a lovely Sunday afternoon at Michael Nadra , Primrose Hill .
Excellent food. Great experience. Lovely neighbourhood place
This is my first ever review I have written on Open Table and I am doing it only because Michael Nadra went far beyond my expectations in every respect.
I picked it for a special occasion and had a wonderful date with my girlfriend. The venue was intimate and well-decorated, the background music was just right, and we spent 3.5 hours dining and enjoying ourselves over cocktails, wine and food.
The food was truly outstanding and good value at that. My girlfriend had the Wagyu steak (which I stole a bit of and it pretty much melted in my mouth), and I would honestly give it a 10/10. I went for the lamb (also top-notch). The starter and desert I ordered (ceviche and cheesecake, respectively) were both innovatively and beautifully presented as well as being delicious.
I had one question and followed up with the restaurant after, and Michael personally answered in a prompt and professional manner and made me feel like he really did care about all aspects of the customer experience. From him all the way down to the waiters, the service was first-rate, attentive and helpful.
I am going to recommend this restaurant to absolutely everyone I know - I really do believe that it, and Michael, do an outstanding job and deserve praise and recognition.
A really pleasant surprise north of Regents Park. Nice environment and decor, creative menu, food beautifully prepared and really nice wine and cocktail list. A first class dining experience. Two minor quibbles but for the restaurant: (1) lose the rotating colored light show in the dining room - it’s a bit tacky and not reflective of the quality dining experience, and (2) one of our servers was clearly sick (stuffy nose and sniffly), and sick people should not be interacting with customers or serving food. These were the only things that kept this from being an all-around 5-star experience.
We booked NYE dinner as it was close to the park where we wanted to see the fireworks from. The food was exceptional! The same with the ambience. Only let down were the waiting staff who were running around all the time, clearly stressed out and quite inexperienced. We got bread with no butter, dirty wine glass and they did not know their wines. Would definitely go back for the quality of food but felt a bit short changed at £100 a head for the service we received.
We had an excellent New Year’s Eve meal! The food was absolutely delicious, with a well-balanced and beautifully presented tasting menu. Our waitress was delightful - extremely cheerful and helpful. Although we are fairly regular diners here we will be back again soon!
Top notch in all respects and a great way to end 2017
We’ve been going to Michael Nadra Primrose Hill for some time, but on this occasion found it disappointing. The welcome by the young manageress we hadn’t seen before seemed synthetic, the Greek waiter we hadn’t seen before couldn’t despite repeated attempts connect with the idea that the wine we wanted was the Barolo, even though it’s a widely known name, the food was so so and less good value for the price than before, and altogether, even though we think Michael Nadra himself is a very good chef with interesting ideas and an engaging host when he’s at the place, and have always wanted his Primrose Hill restaurant, which seems to have been struggling, to succeed, the experience left us wondering about coming again.
Enjoyable dining pleasure - plenty of choice - will come back again
Lovely restaurant- great staff - friendly and delicious food. Will be back! :-)
As usual, the food was superb. Michael Nadra even came from the kitchen to listen to our requirements.
However, the standard of service was very poor. Waiters appeared ignorant of the menu and even presented food to the wrong tables. Off-hand attitude to diners and lack of training was disappointing. Food superb and the service here is usually very good - so this was dissappointing.
