Great menu, unusual food pairings makes for a fantastic choice. Love the outdoor dining area with an ambiance of the Design District. Such a Quant restaurant.
great food and service as always, thank you
Love Michael’s Genuine...just particularly slow service
I have been to Michael’s many times but the very lack of Plant Based meals has turned me off. The menu has turned the wrong way for me.
Superb food. Ordering a number of small plates made it possible to try many different dishes. All were unique and wonderful
This is a nice place. Service was excellent. Some of our food was also excellent but someone dumped way too much salt into my duck confit. Our chief complaint was the noise level— the music level was punishing. We went through a period like this in NYC—fortunately over. I would bet no one would complain if you turned it down.
We were asked to wait 15 mins for an outdoor table that took at least 25 mins. We were asked to wait in the bar. It took 23 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink. Bartender shook hands with a customer and carried on working without washing hands during Covid 19 outbreak. It took ages to take our food order. Starter did not arrive so they delivered it later and took it off the bill. Food itself was mostly good but steak had to be redone as it was excessively salty - waiter said yes that sometimes happens. All in all not what I expect from a James Beard winning chef. Unlikely to return.
Best lunch in town. Nothing even come close.
always the food is excellent, the service and the ambience fantastic , it is a gem
Excellent as always. The food is always great and dependability is super important to me.
I wish they had their brunch items on more than just Sunday – love their brunch menu.
When I made the reservation I would have liked to have been told that there was a very limited menu after 3:00. The appetizers were very good, as usual as well as my tomato and mozzarella, however, my husbands turkey sandwich was fair, at best. The bread was too flimsy to hold the sandwich and it was far too overstuffed with turkey and fell apart after the first bite. The turkey was just so so and the bacon overcooked and hard, not crispy. We ended up ordering the Italian bread and he broke up the sandwich and used that bread. A restaurant like MG could certainly do better with a simple turkey, avocado and bacon sandwich!
Fabulous food, mussels were exceptional. Also seek out the Viognier wine if you like a fuller white wine
Thank you for your visit and review. We appreciate your feedback and would love to hear more about your experience and what we can do better. We aim for a five star experience very time. Please send me your contact info so I can hear from you what we can improve for your next visit. Kindly, Nicole
The food was amazing and staff was very friendly & always checking on us.
I loved the octopus!
Excellent food and atmosphere!
Saturday night, it was full, vibe was energetic. We did not wait to be seated. We sat outside, it was cool but did not matter because they have heat lamps. Very casual - do not need to dress up. Took a while to order and get drinks. After that, service was perfect. Food very creative and really delicious.
Favorite was grilled and roasted octopus. We ordered too much, 6 things for two people, but a lot were small items. Still too much. The only thing we did not like was the chili oil on the tuna crudo. Too spicy and covered up the delicate tuna. Just a touch would have been good, but there was a lot on the plate.
Waiter seemed a bit slammed, but there was a gal walking around, making sure things were ok, I assume she was the manager. That was a good thing.
The valet parking took a long time to bring our car, so if you hate waiting (like 10-15 min) try to park on the street, yourself.
Would go back again - would like to try other items on the menu - so many interesting choices.
We go there often because we usually have very good service & the food is delicious!!! I don't know what happened this time. It took 1:15 to get our food, we complained to the manager , all she did was make excuses. I don't know that we will be returning any time soon.
We arrived at Michael’s on a chilly day with a reservation, but we had to eat outside because the inside was closed for a private function. We agreed to sit outside as long as the heater would be turned on, but that took over fifteen minutes. We ordered our lunch, and two of us got our lunches in a normal amount of time, but the third took an extra 20 minutes to arrive. I think we all agree that we should all be served together....The food was delicious, as always. We had the strawberry salad, the pesto pizza, and a turkey sandwich. Even the beverages were delicious. We had coffee and peach tea.
I was a big fan of this place, been there many times. Last Friday was extremely disappointing. Took forever to get the food. Food was mediocre at best, not what I was expecting. I was really embarrassed with my out of town guests.
I really love this place. Always fresh food, original recipes organic ingredients. Tomato’s are amazing and main highlight is wood oven for whole snapper or chicken.
Michaels is always very good. We have been for lunch many times. One issue and I don’t know if this is good or bad but they seem to run out of things each time we come. We will be back and it’s out go to place in the design district. Love the salads with choices like wood Fired fish Great combos and good pizzas
Wonderful menu, outstanding staff, and fabulous food!
Wonderful environment, service and cuisine. Wine sommelier offered superbly detailed assistance.
I love the food at Michael's BUT, your service staff needs work. Many issues over the evening and our server was no where to be found. It did not make for a great night out.
Great food and ambiance.
Great food, horrible service
Another great time at Michael's Genuine. Excellent food, great service.
Nice outdoor courtyard for lunch. Eclectic menu with lots of options.
Food and atmosphere are wonderful! Always consistent!
We were disappointed by the salad and salad he steak au poivre. The past was fine
This was our second time dining a MGFD, and was as exceptional an experience as the first time. The wood roasted octopus was the best we’ve ever had, and the rest of our meal lived up to this special appetizer. Although completely full for lunch (we made reservations s week in advance) the wait staff was attentive and service was top notch. We will be back the nest time we visit Miami.
Good food intimate ambiance
Food is delicious and service very professional
I have been a patron since this restaurant opened. The service on our last visit was subpar. We waited an extremely long time before anyone acknowledged us after we were seated and served water. Not sure what was going on, but the restaurant did not appear very busy (6pm on a Wednesday). The food was excellent as usual, but the experience was marred by the poor service. The manager did comp our wine as an acknowledgement of the slow server response.
Great lunch! Nice ambiance. Friendly service
These people understood wine and the food was amazing. Incredibly impressed and texted my Cleveland friends they should try the other location!
Busy and buzzing. A classic spot in the design district and always a solid choice.
Found this place in Departures Miami city guide. Had the brussel sprouts and deviled eggs to start, both excellent. Pastrami sandwich and short rib panini were outstanding. Highly recommend.
It’s worth going just for the bread! And the deviled eggs and I could name a half dozen good things. GO!
