Exquisite food in an exceptional setting. Probably our best vegetarian quality meal ever. I cannot fault the variety of tastes and textures and the attention to detail. Front of house were knowledgeable and considerate. The cooking staff worked in view behind a glass screen keeping both noise and smells to a minimum.. perfect

We now come to Midsomer House for the lunchtime tasting menu every year because the Classic food provided is excellent both in quality and imagination - it is our annual treat. The beef was its usual incredible combination of flavour and tenderness. Please keep the formula going and don't change anything.

Food was amazing. Service was exceptional. Price a little high but this is a 2 star Michelin restaurant, so this was to be expected. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and all staff made every effort to make us feel welcomed and looked after. This is an experience to be repeated!

This was a return visit following an equally enjoyable experience pre covid in 2019. The food was interesting with many amazing flavours. The service was excellent and each course was superbly presented by the brilliant staff. Highly recommended

Stunning, very impressed with each dish. service was impeccable. The knowledge of the wines to accompany the tasting menu was great. Nice personal touch with a birthday card on the table for my husbands 40th. Upstairs lounge was also a lovely place to finish off with a relaxing vibe. Would highly recommend visiting.

The service was superb, really enjoyed it love the wine pairing, really accentuating every taste of the course salmon is definitely the highlight of the light, so tender and flavourful venison is a bit interesting, didnt expect it to taste like liver anyway 5 out 5 really recommend it

There are in my opinion, a handful of restaurants around the country that are truly in a different league when it comes to fine dining . E'enclume , Michael Caines at Lympstone are a couple that immediately fall into this special catagory. We visited Midsummer House yesterday for the first time and its up there with the best!! We were blown away by the food. It always looks great but it tastes even better!! remarkable stuff....and great staff and service.

As you would expect from a 2 stat Michelin rated restaurant, the food was amazing! We opted for the 4 course lunch and I am so glad we did. With the additional canapes and amuse bouches, we left completely satisfied and any more would have been too much. The flavours were familiar but done in surprising ways. The staff were delightful and knowledgeable. The ambience was warm and respectful. We thoroughly enjoyed our gastronomic experience.

Amazing experience. The food was right up there with the very best restaurants we have visited. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough. We even got a tour of the kitchens after service had finished by head chef mark and met a young chef doing mise en place by the name of Daniel Clifford. Really made my wife’s birthday extra special. Thanks again

Beware the meal is £150 per person, and that the most expensive drink on the menu costs over £16,000! Also there are some expensive extras that can catch you off guard. Otherwise a delightful meal.

Interesting combination of flavours and substances with beautiful presentation. Staff fully committed to sharing their knowledge of the dishes. Tiny portions made it possible to enjoy all the dishes. I thought the alcohol was overpriced. However, the experience for me was spoiled by having to go out in the rain to a shed which housed the accessible loo. As a wheelchair user I always ask if the loo is completely accessible and was told it was. However, there was a step which I found very difficult and meant I had to leave my chair out in the rain. I like to be independent so when there is a fuss and I have to be given help I feel like a second class citizen.

Our third visit to Midsummer House and it was as always outstanding. The staff were delightful and the ambiance relaxing and comfortable. The attention to detail in service made a celebratory dinner exceptional. And the food? Quite wonderful. Exciting and unusual flavour combinations and depth of taste. Exquisite presentation. Wonderful produce/ingredients. Bravo Chef!

Truthfully can't say more about Midsummer House other than it is an amazing experience. Food was immaculately served and absolutely delicious. The wine pairings were lovely, even coming from someone who's not a wine fanatic. And the service was top notch from everyone involved, our main waiter, Arthur, was very friendly, clear, concise, knowledgeable and everyone made us feel at home. My only regret is not being able to dine there every week.

Hands down, one of the loveliest places we have ever eaten! Everything about our lunch experience was outstanding. The venue is so unassuming but has some beautiful touches inside (the tree sculpture out of cutlery is stunning!), the staff were helpful, smiley and knowledgable. Being able to see the chefs making our food was fascinating. The menu, oh my goodness, sheer genius! The wine pairing was perfect but by far the greatest fun was the non alcoholic pairing- those drinks blew my mind and was an incredibly special and thoughtful touch! Exceptional!

Our first visit to Midsummer House. We were celebrating my son and my husbands birthday. One of the best taster menus I have ever eaten. Every course was a tiny work of art and melted in the mouth. There wasn't anything that wasn't just delicious. As it was a special occasion we opted for the luxury wine pairing and I'm so glad we did it was a really great selection with a few we weren't familiar with. The staff were great and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine. Overall a very special evening. Oh and that basket of beignets at the end! We cant wait to return.

The food was incredible and the service was thorough, professional and friendly. Obviously it IS very expensive, but it is a 2 Michelin star restaurant so only to be expected for high end dining. We do not usually dine out, let alone somewhere so extravagant but it was a saved-up-for birthday treat. However, there were nice little touches such as the QR code to watch a video of chef creating the salmon dish, and we were given 2 little carrot cakes to take home. The attention to detail on every single dish was outstanding and it was difficult to pick a favourite. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the food and wine, explaining each element in great detail. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxing and all in all we had a fantastic time. Little tip for diners like me - don’t bite into the amuse bouche in an attempt to be polite. Shove it all in otherwise you make a mess on the table cloth!!

There is a reason for two stars not one: the food at MH is simply exceptional. Every course beautifully balanced and full of excitement and memorable bursts of flavour. The butternut squash, cod and salmon courses were each differentiatingly good on an already outstanding tasting menu. Service was excellent, inc great sommelier, happy to guide away from the (surreal) mid to upper price echelons. Nothing about the evening was low cost, but it is a different level of food to anything else for miles around, apart from the very best in London. Outstanding wine list (bar the prices!) with interesting wines from all around the world as well as the classics and a deeply knowledgeable and charming not patronising sommelier. The decor is a bit odd for such an exceptional restaurant (it always was!) with bright lighting rather than flowers and candles etc (not looking for a cliché, but if you go you will know what I mean). But an exceptional meal and wonderfully enjoyable evening. A great treat.
