Milan Indian Cuisine
Monday - Friday: 12pm - 2:30pm, 6pm - 11:30pm
Saturday: 5:30pm - 11:30pm
12 of us met here for a curry for my stag do. Service was excellent and attentive and the set menu was great for a group, we were going on to the jam house from here so location was perfect.
It was ok. My friend loves this restaurant. But for me there isn't a huge selection and I've had better.
poor quality food, waiter had staring problem.
wish i went to ashas down the road
Nice experience again from Milan Indian Cuisine. Tasty food, friendly and attentive service.
Friendly service and delicious food.
Excellent food, very good and varied menu and service very good. Would definately go again.
Lovely atmosphere, nice interior and good service. The food was lovely, very tasty. Definitely worth another visit now
Excellent food and service.
Toilets require attention
Fantastic food, great service, interior felt a little dated but that's the only fault we could find. Would happily eat there every time we are visiting Birmingham
Just visiting Birmingham. Every time we come to visit our children at the University come to this place for an authentic Indian meal. Good food with smiling service from all the staffs and attention to details. North Indian dishes are the best and this time we indulge ourselves into Indian street food. Excellent**
Milan has a lovely cuisine that does not bloat like other "brand" name Indian restaurants.
The food is well made and has an authentic Indian feel. It has a good variety, but not so extensive as to make you undecided about what to order...
The location is easy to reach in the city and close to other well known Indian restaurants.
The service was very good and friendly.
How could you make it to an outstanding score:
More attention to moving the dinner smoothly.
Gap between starters and main course could be shorter
More comfortable chairs
Vegetarian festival - great for me (veggie) and my three non-veggie friends who all loved it. Class.
The food was, as always, fantastic especially the vegetarian dishes. My colleague had a Chicken TM which was to my taste sweet and bland. Sag paneer and jalfrezi vegetables and dhal all excellent.
Service was a bit pushy, we were asked 4 times if we were ready to order when we were all still clearly engrossed in a conversation.
One of my favourite restaurants
I was visiting the area to attend a concert and wanted a restaurant close to my hotel as I was eating alone.
I found Milan via opentable app and booked a table through the app too.
On arrival, I was warmly welcomed and shown to a table. The server was very polite and engaged me in casual conversation and when I told him it was my birthday, he presented me with a bottle of Prosecco as a gift!
The food was delicious and cooked perfectly and the service was outstanding and I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Found this a very pleasant experience. Excellent food and professional and friendly staff.
Wife and friend's birthday, very nice evening. Will return.
A good evening. Initially cool by the entrance, staff moved us and the evening went very well. Staff were attentive and the food was tasty. Intend to book again. in fact will do it now for a special occasion next December. Hope you can cater for an early booking.
Relaxed atmosphere. Waiters attentive but not annoying. My dish (lamb rogan josh) was a little too salty but the lamb was lovely and tender. Dishes are pricier than other places but you are in the city centre .
The service was second to none and the good wad delicious. Will definitely be back.
We booked a table for our work Christmas meal last Friday. We arrived at about 8pm and were sat down fairly quickly. Our starters did not arrive until 9pm, and our mains didn't turn up until 10:15pm. By the time we were finally done eating, it was almost 11pm and we were keen to get going quickly as some of us had to rush off to catch the last train home - but then it took another 15 minutes just to get the bill! I understand that Christmas periods can be busy and there were other large groups in the restaurant, but we ended up spending most of the evening looking at our watches, and the staff did not seem to care that we'd been waiting so long. We would not come again.
Very nice place, great staff, service and food.
Had a very enjoyable meal here. Prices are very reasonable, menu is varied - recommended.
Fantastic food and very friendly service. Great value food and drink
The music was quite loud and the service was quite slow. All dishes were quite spicy - even the butter chicken. All in all we sat in Milan for three hours! which is way too long for a three-course meal. We had to wait for ages for our drinks, then for someone to take our food order and then for the food itself. The puddings were nice although not very Indian.
Love the atmosphere at Milan's. Calm and quiet. Attentive staff who look after you well.
Returned to an eating ground 4 adults 2 children and were all very pleased with the food and portions. Service could be better as forgot accompaniments and brought spicy curry instead of plain for the children - not a fan of service charge being added though. 7/10
Having not tried Milan I was looking forward to my visit.
I booked a table for 4 people with a confirmation from Open Table and when my husband and friend arrived 5 mins earlier than myself they were told there was no booking. It was only when I arrived and started to retieve my booking from my emails that we were shown to a table.
They were really rude and made us feel uncomfortable during the visit, as if we weren't welcome.
The food was ok but the disappointing service we received means I will return to my usual choice of Indian restaurant where our visit is valued.
The bar man was actually very pleasant. Its a pity the other staff and management do not follow suit.
Surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, but maybe the location is the reason. (Milan is just beyond the city centre pub/bar area). However, we found it well worth the extra 5 minute walk.
A warm welcome was followed by friendly and professional service. The food was very good and enjoyed by all six of us. No overdosing on food colouring or sugar. We had a great evening and will return I've no doubt. Prices were very reasonable
We ordered five different dishes and the food was all very good except the Chilli Paneer chunks were a bit too large and the Mongoose draught beer was more expensive than I realised (£5.25 a pint)
Service was great, decor/art were great and would definitely go again
Went to Milan's for the umpteenth time, it never disappoints. The food was, as always, really tasty, well prepared and great for vegetarian options
Food was really nice, not a big fan of the rice but everything else was excellent. I had a lamb dish which was really tender and tasty.
Milan has been around for a very long time indeed and more recently has become a higher end quality food venue. The menu is varied and has something for everyone, indeed a great variety to choose from. The quality of the food is also extremely high and every bit as good a currently very popular venue close by.
The service is friendly and prompt and it all makes for a very enjoyable dining experience.
This restaurant is a South Indian Cuisine so the menu is a little bit different to what I am used to. My favourite dish is Biriyani and this dish isn't available here. We were a party of 8 and they looked after us well. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had bhajis and chicken pakora to start and lamb rogan josh and Makani dishes for mains.. The food was a little saltier than I would've liked but otherwise tasted good. Expect to pay in the region of £60-70 for a four person family.
Although under the shadow of the 5* Ashas just up the road, the staff at Milans put up a good effort to hold their own. The menu is good the food very good and the staff excellent, especially with our children. They will cater for different tastes if requested and the prices are reasonable for a city restaurant!
Been to Milan many times. It is my favourite Indian restaurant in central Birmingham and never diappoints. Food always excellent.
Nicest Indian food I've had for a long time. The Thaali did beat me, but I gave it my best shot after poppadoms and a starter. Still fit in some gulab jamun in my pudding tummy! Will definitely be back.
Booked here last minute for a stag dinner with 14 people
Staff were really accommodating and friendly - particularly as we were in a rush for the next stag activity
Food itself was very good for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike, with a very diverse menu. Every person in the group was very satisfied.
Would go again
This is a really nice restaurant right in the centre of Birmingham. The menu is extensive and the is very good
Service was of a high standard.
We will definitely go again
Food was ok however the service was terrible.. Took ages to get drinks.. Then an eternity to take our orders.. While waiting a waiter came back and asked to clarify our order again.. Must have not been paying attention in the first place.. Food was brought out it was satisfactory however an extra dish of rice was brought out which I did not order.. Once the meal was finished nobody came to clear up the table I had to go to the bar and ask for the bill because I had had enough.. The bill was given and it was wrong that mysterious rice was on my bill I asked for it to be changed.. Hostile waiters no atmosphere mediocre food awful service.. Worst restaurant I've been to in all of England not jus Birmingham..
I would go as far as saying that this is they best Indian food that I've ever tasted - and I'm really fussy! The waiter was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Overall the bill was very reasonable. If I lived locally we would be visiting regularly.
