This restaurant looks like it is a serene separate room from the photos but is in fact one of several eating areas in the main hall each with a bar that anyone can use. The result is that you are dining in a zoo with average food (nothing arrives hot) and drinkers falling into your table. Staff are great but can't compensate for the challenges this space poses. Very disappointing.
Incredible food and atmosphere. Excellent service.
Cant wait to go again!
Really great service nice place and enjoyed ourselves
Great food and nice atmosphere
Great service and fantastic place!
I just quirky ssud on arrival I wanted a nice table as it was my friends birthday and not only was our table fab but they brought a muffin with a candle in at the end of our breakfast. Such a thoughtful touch and it makes you realise what good staff The Ned have. Many thanks for making my friends b day breakfast extra special .
Arrived ten minutes late to our reservation for breakfast, but table was still not ready, and we where asked to wait. After another ten minutes of waiting, we where seated at a small table cramped in between other small tables. I have no trouble sitting tight, but then my experience is also at the discretion of my fellow guests sitting next to me. Sadly this time at my side was a young man eating loudly, shouting for service and honestly was about to ruin our date. We where sitting for about ten minutes, without any service, before we decided to get up and leave. I might have been very unlucky with this visit, but other than the beautiful building, there’s no reason for me to return to this restaurant.
We had a lovely evening, although the gluten free options were minimal and the waiting staff were not very clued up on what was available for a celiac, which was disappointing for this sort of venue. But late drinks and general ambiance was fab. Would recommend and sure we will come back!
Always a pleasurable experience.
Service is very good & attentive
Food second to none.
Wonderful as always. I was tasked with showing an American friend a quintessentially British experience of afternoon tea and Millie’s more than delivered. Gorgeous food, lovely live music and brilliantly attentive service. Would highly recommend - a real treat!
The overall experience was very good, it was only hindered by the opentable booking process. I asked for the afternoon tea option and it gave me the times of 13:15 and 16:00. I opted for 13:15 and was excited to arrive there, however when I did one of the staff told me afternoon tea wasn’t until 2. They said we could start at 2 but needed the table back for 3. She wasn’t very helpful, however I told her about the open table problem and she was quite rude and said it was basically my fault. However the staff proceeded to show us to our table and our waiting staff were more than helpful and made us feel very comfortable. We then swiftly ate and paid by 15:00 which was genuinely more than enough time - the waiting staff then told us they had a cancellation and we could stay for an extra hour. Only one of the ladies was quite difficult but the rest of the staff were amazing - food was decent and the venue is stunning. Be careful when you book via this website but overall I would 100% recommend the Ned.
Service - charming but not particularly attentive. Took ages to get anyone's attention. Once we did, the food and drinks arrived quickly and accurately. Food was so-so and very expensive. £17 for an average burger is a try on. Although the location is quite far from the band it is still very loud and difficult to have a conversation across the table. The live music adds nothing positive to the ambience.
Favourite restaurant in The Ned. Date night with husband and was there day previous for work lunch. Very comfortable seating. View of grand piano and band is excellent. Great atmosphere any time of the day.
LOVE the Ned - great vibes and especially the service from the Italian waiter JJ. Our fave mid week hangout!
Menu choices were varied- although a little fish heavy. The portion of the Fish and Chips was a good size, but the other menu items may need additional sides ordered to make a full meal.
Quite pricey but the surroundings ensure its worth the price.
Really nice ambience as there were live bands, service was OK but not great. We had cocktails and dinner there but the seats were quite slouchy and it wasn't that comfortable when eating our food. The large tables with the pink couches might have been more suitable for eating but we were on the smaller tables for 2.
Had a Tea for Two. Great venue, friendly professional staff. Vibrant and buzzing. Live music. The harpist was wonderful. Will definitely return.
Food great, good portions and totally delicious.
Went for Saturday Brunch, staff lovely, and didn’t feel rushed at all. Will 100% be returning
Lovely breakfast at Millie’s, The Ned. Would 100% recommend. Great food and service and good price!
I always enjoy the Ned (Millie’s) but on the last occasion our table was too close to the Band so the noise level was far too high and we had to shout when conversing. The dressed crab starter was nice but not a very big portion and the cod (main dish) was tasty but cold! So a bit off putting. Our Bakewell tart dessert was very good.
Prior to the booking I received 2 emails and 1 phone call to check our attendance. We did arrive early hoping for a drink before taking our table. We were told we were early ! and told to go to the bar. However the large stools which were all occupied prevented us from standing at the bar as certain areas are off limits. The service staff and food redeemed the situation. Some thought should be given to aggressive securing of business and space avaliable for customers and their experience
Very pleasant and efficient service, a good British classic cuisine, a bit noisy but this is also the overall experience of the Ned. Prices are city standard but acceptable value .
Good experience and straightforward service. Good ambiance
An excellent evening with great food and very attentive service! I went here for my anniversary
Great venue for a business lunch, good service, quiet and nice food.
Really enjoyable would recommend it! The food and service was outstanding! Thank you I had a fantastic birthday breakfast.
Lovely setting for a date, friendly service and delicious food! The steak is to die for
Was a fav evening, the lemon sole is so delicious!! And great music playing Also in the background !
The service was very lack lustre and. It worth the 12.5% service charge but the food was very good
Food was great as always. Service was a little slow but we were enjoying company so didn’t matter too much.
We had a lovely afternoon tea here - it's more about the fun and lively atmosphere than the food. Both the egg and the salmon sandwiches were good, but the bread of the ham and cheese sandwiches was a bit hard. The scones were fine - slightly too dense, but not too bad. Desserts were done well. Service was friendly. The only letdown was a mix-up with the tea, which happened twice. The assam tea was presented as silver needle tea and vice versa. When we had the tea refills, lapsang suchong was brought instead of the requested silver needle tea, but these were quickly corrected. Overall, a good experience and I would return.
The Afternoon Tea was outstanding and so was the ambience and service. I have recommended this place to all my friends and I'll definitively come back more than once.
unfortunately upon my arrival the table I was seated at had a sharp hanging piece of metal that sliced through my trousers. We were moved once I complained and the table was also removed. Our food was delicious the staff were attentive and made superb recommendations. The management also appeared to be very apologetic and removed the charge of our drinks which I thought was considerate. However I’d say I was still slightly disappointed that they didn’t provide their details as promised. I think they feel they may have fairly compensated me by removing the drinks charge; which I would say isn’t sufficient. I didn’t make a fuss as I was in a great mood and with the live band and great ambience it’s difficult to stay grumpy.
Overall I’d definitely recommend Millie’s Lounge and I’d potentially return if I was wearing an outfit I don’t mine losing 😄
I’d also suggest having a nice tip ready as the staff deserve a service charge- which isn’t included btw!
Good location and décor, quite grand. But noisy, and sofa make sitting at the table not very comfortable to hold conversation.
We had an amazing lunch, fantastic service (thank you Bianca) and the decor and atmosphere was second to none. Highly recommended.
Lovely breakfast, my poached eggs were cooked beautifully. I wasn’t keen on the toast which I felt was substandard and a little dry. Brilliant service, I really enjoy the little ‘shots’ of juice they bring around to try!
Cool place, especially on Sunday Swing evening!
Good food, and nice service.
Saw the buffet from Ned's feast and it looked impressive but was already closed.
Breakfast at Millie's Lounge at The Ned was the perfect way to start (or end Sunday) following an overnight charity marathon walk around London, very attentive service and a good value breakfast including a suitably spicy Bloody Mary in beautiful comfortable surroundings.
Great experience! We loved absolutely the ambience, quality of the food and helpfulness of the staff.
Fantastic ambience where the decor, live music add a touch of class to the wonderful food. The service was outstanding which made the evening all the more pleasurable. Thank you Millies.
We had breakfast with friends who all work in the city on Friday morning, and the entire meal was a joke from beginning to end. They started with getting 2 of the 4 drinks orders incorrect, which took them multiple attempts to correct. The food then arrived and all of the sides were wrong, and the majority of the food was cold. We sent the food back, which was revoked quickly, but the new food was still cold and they also then got one of the orders wrong. The waitress in question who was serving us was rude and seemed irritated suggesting that we had confused her when really it was a simple breakfast order in a restraunt which should be able to deal with lots of people. I have eaten here before and never had a complaint, but the meal on Friday has completely put me of returning. They were also not prepared to remove the service and the final bill was incorrect. Overall a really poor experience
