Our meal and evening was amazing! The staff and food were perfect and very accommodating to my allergies. Can’t wait to return!
Pleasant afternoon tea. Live music was great but a little loud. Beautiful venue.
Lovely evening, great food and service. My only concern was it didn't feel like the covid restrictions were being taken seriously, with larger groups gathering by the Christmas tree for photos and other tables of people who do not live together nearby makes things more uncomfortable than needed.
Birthday. Made to eat starters and mains which we substandard. Attitude was pretty much as you have to eat as stated in the government COVID rules However it appears most people not eating the food served. The Ned seemed to have lost interest in serving their normal high standard. Very disappointed!! The Ned was one of my favourite places.
The Ned is always an amazing experience and Millies makes sure of this. The professionalism of the members of staff is great and everybody is an absolute delight.
The food was incredible and it was great to take my friend here for her first time and she loved it.
Highly recommend Millies and will defo be back!
Good food, beautiful setting, live music. The service was mixed at times - and the restaurant are very untactful when needing table back and should give tables for more than 1.5hrs considering amount of money one spends in there. It feels rushed.
Lovely couple of hours having afternoon tea on Saturday.
Comfy chairs. Fab sandwiches and cakes. I was impressed that refills were offered on the sandwiches and that they asked if we would like to drink our champagne before tea was poured.
Service was excellent.
Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was I felt our table was too near to the bar.
I would definitely recommend and return though.
Great atmosphere really good food. Staff are very attentive.
Took ages to take our order. The mains took ages to come then we are told they needed the table back and we couldn’t order anymore drinks but the two tables next to us, parties of men who has arrived before us were still being served. Then when we asked for the bill it took them ages to take payments.
It was a great afternoon, covid secure, lounge music was wonderful as was our hostess and the food. Can’t recommend enough
The staff were lovely and attentive, fish n chips and the wine great. There was plenty of space, light airy ceilings, live music and a great ambience. We loved our afternoon!
Had dined at The Ned before the restrictions I was pleasantly surprised at how well they’ve adapted still live music which was great food was excellent too !
We had a wonderful afternoon lunch for my husband’s birthday. The staff were very accommodating serving food around our toddler’s nap & even giving her a small piece of cake which she loved! Thank you
Fantastic host, made sure we were looked after. Great ambience and overall a good experience
Always an enjoyable experience, however, I was hoping for a more Christmassy feel.
Terrible service. We were half way through our starters before drinks finally arrived. When we queried response was rude and unhelpful
Let me preface by saying I do love The Ned. I took my boyfriend last weekend for his birthday and we were lucky enough to enjoy the live band who were fantastic. The service as always is very good as well as the general ambience. You walk in, you feel special.
However, I was a little disappointed after telling our waiter it was my boyfriends birthday that we didn’t receive anything complimentary. Most places I’ve been that aren’t anywhere close to The Ned in terms of quality, have provided a glass of bubbly/small cupcake with a candle etc for special occasions so was disappointed not to get anything for the price we’re paying.
However, the most dissatisfying aspect was the almost complete disregard for vegans. You would think most places these days have caught on that veganism is growing at a fast rate and so was really disappointed that they all they had was a plant based burger or soup. Again, for such an opulent venue, one would assume they would have an extensive menu or at least be able to accommodate/make changes which they were not.
Always superb. Strangely nice to have the NED a little quieter; could enjoy the live music even more.
Service took ages, lobster was very poor, nothing Christmassy, chips were not cooked properly.
Service was very poor indeed!
Sat at a table right by where the waiting staff were coming and going!
Been before and it was lovely but this time was very disappointing
Such a lovely place. Food was great, good cocktails and service. Will definitely be back!
Despite the current circumstances it was a lovely visit. Food was good, although the ceasar salad was a little disappointing compared to my last visit. You can never fault the service, decor and atmosphere at The Ned.
Great venue, great food and service. Acclimatised well for COVID-19 rules.
Drinks a little pricey but have to expect that in these difficult times.
Loved the venue and the musicians in the centre. The food and service was great.
Crab starter and Dover sole main, absolutely succulent, both.
Will be back to Millie's kitchen.
Always a wonderful choice for a meal at any time of the day in such a beautiful setting. Guara
Food was lovely as usual. Service was great.
Whilst the Ned is always a bit on the pricey side, the feeling is great.
Had a wonderful afternoon have booked again great service
really good ambience, pancakes were beautiful, would definitely return again
I go every week for breakfast. Food and service always good. Perfect.
The Ned is breathtaking and Millies is lovely accompaniment. Food was fine tasty and overall pleasant. Shame it came with dirty cutlery and also a very aloof standoffish waitress who seemed to be annoyed at our mere presence. She was very off putting which was a real shame to what could've been a great expce. All OK but more style over substance. People go there to be seen, not really for any culinary satisfaction.
The Ned was a great experience even in the mad world we are in
We eat in Millies Lounge really good with great service
Beautiful food with great staff
We stayed the nght at The Ned and the service from all of the staff was second to none. The food in Millie's was very good and the Ned Feast the following day was excellent.
I would not hesitate to recommend.
Amazing experience! It's a beautiful building, lovely ambience and as a bonus there was a jazz singer and band playing in the centre. It felt like just for a moment we could relax! Afternoon tea is good quality - extra sandwiches and tea available with courteous service. I really applaud the staff for their professionalism during this time.
Marvellous breakfast, enjoyed it immensely, it was delicious.
Felt like we could’ve done with a little more light at our table when dining in the evening, it was difficult to see the food on the plate!
Nice afternoon tea. Quality food. Covid secure. Clean
Lovely calm atmosphere and wonderful service, as always.
I visit Millies regularly. This is the best yet.No change to the food or service as these are always superb. However the ambiance much better as fewer clients and so not as noisy and you could actually listen to the performing artist and talk and hear the person next to you.
Excellent service and very pleasant atmosphere. Food and drinks were delicious.
We had a fantastic afternoon tea it was for the wife's birthday treat she had such a lovely afternoon the staff are fantastic here they make you feel special...We will be returning.
I brought my teenage daughters for afternoon tea at The Ned in Millies Lounge as a half term treat. The seating was very comfortable, the setting felt private and the food tasted excellent and was beautifully presented. I deliberately booked one of their later seatings so that we also had live music later on, which was great too. The staff were helpfully attentive and made our visit very special. We had a memorable and lovely relaxed, fun time together. I thought it was good value for money.
