What a wonderful venue! And even though it was very busy in the end, the high ceilings soak up the noise level easily!
We had afternoon tea which was delicious!
I would highly recommend the Ned and will be going again for sure
Great, other than the seating. Wholly inappropriate chairs for dining.
Wonderful food, great service, return regularly for breakfast and lunch meetings.
Food and service excellent. Spoilt entirely by an unacceptable level of noise from live music. Dreadful. You could not have a conversation yet alone a relaxing meal. Apologies from the waiters was of no comfort. I felt sorry for them they were forced to field countless complaints from all areas of the restaurant all evening.
You must decide whether you are a noisy raucous pub or an excellent, gentle relaxing restaurant.. I for one will not return unless / until the decibel level returns to its pre rock levels.
Excellent service and the food was delicious - zero compliants - we love Millie Lounge
Our waitress was Timea who was so lovely, helpful and thoughtful! She made sure we were happy constantly, and even gifted my mum a birthday desert which I was very grateful for. Would definitely recommend and want to point out Timea was the best!
My sister and I had afternoon tea here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant but you could still hear the piano playing in the background. Food was great and nice selection of teas. A great modern take on a traditional dining experience.
Great food, great venue, live music and service was excellent. Going back again.
Asked for a booth for my birthday but I did not get one, the lady who served us was nice and friendly, though overall service was strict and a bit cold.
There’s just something about the Ned which I really enjoy. Only ever been at the weekend (evenings) and so live music which is loud but always a good atmosphere- our waiter was lovely (no pressure and very good service). All different ages/types of people. Food at Millie’s Lounge was good and just enough. I will return.
Great atmosphere in the new restaurant. Food excellent with a great choice. Quite noisy with live music
Fantastic atmosphere helped by a wonderful service from the staff. Everyone was very polite and helpful. I found that the chips that came with my steak were a little oily (perhaps a personal preference, my friend found them fine) but one of our desserts were removed from the bill by way of an apology (without us disputing anything)! Made me feel very valued. The food, on the whole, was brilliant.
The Ned overall is one of the greatest places to be. The live band in the centre of the magnificent hall have a brilliant presence, while the music is never quite loud enough to be intrusive to conversation. I couldn't recommend Millie's Lounge enough!
Dining at Millies is always a lovely experience - the staff are a delight and the food is delicious. Jack and his team are doing a wonderful job.
Amazing staff! Very Polite, considerate and aware!
Always a great place to go, whether it be drinks or food.
This was absolutely the best dining experience that I’ve had.
I would 100% recommend the Ned -overall was lovely evening-only one small thing g from being perfect was that the lemon some wasnt filletted and couldnt be!
We were seated right beside the bar where some very noisy men were talking. Difficult to hear ourselves speak! Otherwise, a very enjoyable afternoon tea.
For the price I have had much, much better. The £10 upgrade for a small glass of champagne is not at all worth it either. I'm sure what our extra charges were for. The best thing is the building and decor. Average at best. I won't go there again. Other positives though- nice staff and clean loos.
Gluten free options (bread) and were given a lovely breakfast 'shot' (apple and kale) only complaint really was that we were given a low table/chairs and would rather have a proper table to eat at and chair support (I did request this on my booking as well as telling them I was gluten free but this wasnt acknowledged when i got there )
Even I had an appointment, they were trying to take it away as I am gonna have drinks and some snacks ( we did order main and some starters after all). The point was, the reception at became really defensive all of sudden
Great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, nice selection of afternoon tea treats
Jack and Timea were amazing - excellent service and both extremely friendly and professional. Thank you!
Lovely staff who moved our table to a nicer spot on request. Good food and drink but expensive for what it is. Worth it for the surroundings.
My wife and I had afternoon tea, it was incredible. Service was great, food was great, highly recommended
Really lovely place for breakfast. Reasonably priced and such a beautiful venue. Staff were very attentive. My food was a little cold when it came out, but other than that highly recommended.
great ambiance especially with the live music, amidst the craziness of the lobby. Chairs are a bit tricky to sit back on when you’re not tall. Lovely waiter (wished we asked his name) but clueless Barman. Asked for the bill, he brought the menus then said he’s not the person to get the bill telling us to find our waiter. Horrible service from him but rest of the experience was great. Just don’t ask the useless people at the bar with white coats. Couldn’t tell if he was a bar person or the food runner. Needs training!
I have had afternoon tea at Milllie;s on a few occasions and really enjoyed it. Bringing customers for lunch I was disappointed by the quality of the food. Roast potatoes were hard, obviously too long under hot lamp, chicken was nice, but absolutly no veg served with the meal. Just meat and potatoes.
The service was amazing, every single member of staff was so lovely and polite. We went on a monday so there was live music, I will say it was loud but for only short intervals. The whole place had a really good atmosphere, and we can not wait to go again!
We were celebrating a golden wedding anniversary whilst at The Ned but unfortunately they thought we were celebrating a 50th birthday (even though I had mentioned the current event when booking)- all in all slightly embarrassing!
On ordering drinks before we commenced with the afternoon tea, the lady arrived at the table with the wrong order.
The afternoon tea did look nicely presented at first glance. But some of the sandwiches let it down. The ham and cheese ones, looked poorly put together.
Then during the afternoon, one of the cake plates (which was balanced at an angle) fell and knocked the milk jug all over my dress. I’ve now had to incur the dry cleaning bill.
The last straw, was on looking to the bill at the end, we had been charged for the extra chocolate cakes we ordered. It wasn’t made clear that we would be charged for these. We decided not to make a fuss as it was a treat for my godmother, but I was disappointed as we had already spent (in our minds) a large sum of money.
Fantastic service, beautiful venue, incredible food. Overall, a wonderful dining experience...
Really blissful birthday dinner
Thought the food and the ambiance ,plus the band was excellent .The champagne was poor ,none of the names we were familiar with ,a good couple of known brands and we would not left half the bottle and probable ordered another .
Great bar service and advice from staff. Great Table choice not rushed delicious food. Extra treat for the birthday girl. highly recommend
Fabulous location for afternoon tea, great atmosphere and service and good value ... venue is very impressive and much more exciting than the original purpose of the building as a banking hall ! Well done Sioho House and Sydell Grouo for the outstanding and sympathetic redesign of this remarkable building
Overall it was ok as the cocktail at the bar was delicious. However, the lounge is so big it feels like you are in an airport. The noise level matches that too, despite the live music. The afternoon tea sandwiches are tasty, but I wasn't overly impressed with the flat small scones and the battenberg cake is a bit naff, maybe it's supposed to be trendy, as retro. I didn't like the table (for 2) we were given as the chairs are quite low so you need to use the cushions to feel comfortable. The side tables with pink seating look much better. The bar seating is comfortable.
Attitude of reception when noted my afternoon tea had been diarised as lunch and it afternoon tea was not great. Other service was fantastic.
The presentation of the sandwiches could be improved.
Would be better to have a choice of jams for the scones.
Ambiance is great.
Food not overly amazing and service but slow
