Mimmo La Bufala
Mozzarella, strong broccoli Napoletani, fresh sausage with a hint of chilli
With veal mince, home made besciamella sauce, bufala mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce and parmesan cheese
Calamari in a fresh tomato sauce with black olives, capers and a touch of chilli
It was a busy night Saturday and hectic service but the food was excellent and great value and we very much look forward to coming back again
Had lunch with friends outside on a sunny day overlooking the heath. Had various dishes - parmigiana, spaghetti with clams, orecchiette a la sofia and lasagne followed by chocolate tortino, home made ice cream .All the dishes were plentiful, authentic and tasty
Service was cheerful and attentive with plenty of time to enjoy a lingering lunch. Nice not to be rushed. The staff worked hard and were obviously new to the job but this appears normal in this climate of hospitality staff shortages. However this did not affect our enjoyment.
Will definitely be returning soon
Worst meal out I’ve had. We were ignored for 15 mins to be seated and then sat in the rain. I had to go inside and ask for and then get the menus myself off the shelf! Didn’t get a drinks order for a further 30 mins. Our main courses were forgotten about even after we reminded them twice, the food undercooked and then made to pay for the whole meal. The guy was incredibly rude there, no apology and said sitting in the rain was fine. We were told ‘we won’t charge you for what you didn’t receive’..... and made to pay for the rest. I have never complained at a restaurant but everyone there was outraged! There was one woman who served us who was really sweet and apologetic however.
Did not get a table
They overbooked so we had to grab some takeaway food nearby
Great authentic food. Especially minestrone. And pasta. Great character waiter. Real italian style. V Nice location.
Excellent food. Friendly service. Great to be out in a restaurant in the evening agin, but we were unlucky not to get a heater and it was cold!
Great pics however doesn’t always equate to good food or service with things going downhill on arrival. Having booked the restaurant for a set time when giving my name I was told they were fully booked and to come back in an hour only for me to point on his list and show my name and the confirmation from the opentable app. We were abruptly moved from the table we had settled in after ordering drinks, the outdoor heater stopped working, my arancini balls starter wasn’t hot, the mains weren’t brought out at the same time with the other half waiting over 20minutes longer for his which was a Pizza (I had tuna steak) and had it not been noticed over charging on wine took place. Thankfully after that was spotted I managed to get a refund on the amount overcharged for the wine. Though there were a catalogue of errors and apologises it was still nice to finally be out even if the restaurant is not to be recommended or will be back returning to.
We had a great time and Giuseppe, our waiter was brill!
Not open! Accepted booking but was closed upon arrival!
Very authentic food, great service, good location, and they had taken great pains to make the restaurant accommodating for the current situation.
We booked on open table a week prior. Arrived about 5 minutes before our booking, and after standing around for 25 minutes trying to get the attention of the waiter at the entrance, got told that they don’t have our booking (even after I showed him our confirmation) and we were asked to leave. Really disappointing service and handling. Would not recommend
Ate here first weekend out of lockdown. Restaurant was overbooked and took 20 mins to be seated.
"Calamari in a fresh tomato sauce with black olives, capers and a touch of chilli"
Was actually frozen calamari, no olives, no capers, no sauce, instead some prepacked unseasoned salad with a lemon wedge.
"Scallops sat atop a garlic crouton with asparagus spears and a spicy
No asparagus, no crouton, scallops were nice but on toasted french bread.
Risotto mains were nice though.
Overall, £90 for that and two glasses of wine when the food was nothing to shout about and a misleading menu, pretty poor to be honest. Nice waiters and they were doing the best they could, but this feels like a rip off. The food doesn't look anything like the fancy stuff on their website. Would not come here again.
We walked away after waiting for 2 hours for a dish of fettuccine. Worthless
The worst place I have been to: we were waiting for 15 min to be seated no matter we came on time, for 2,5 h we were waiting for the main dish to be served. Never ever will come back again
Very very busy, so over booked that the restaurant was too full. Deliveroo drivers waiting for ages and standing around your tables. Waited 1.5 hours for main course.
Came at 8pm and got out pasta at 9:15!!! Horrible service, food was cold !!
The restaurant has made no provision for COVID at all. Staff wore masks under their noses and the tables were unbelievably close. The place was very busy and it took 90 minutes before our starter and main courses arrived and they arrived separately. When they arrived the griilled fish was dried out. Overall not a good evening and unlikely to go back.
lovely place, great find, best pizza in London, good and reasonable wine list
Great service and food. Enjoyed it very very much!
Amazing service, food- exquisite! Would definitely recommend and definitely revisiting.
It has been a few years since I have had the chance to revisit and I swear it was better this visit. Attentive and professional service (thank you), well planned for covid dining, & good menu options. All our dishes were tasty, but for me my seafood paccheri was divine and had me smiling hours later. Happily I discovered I can order from Mimmo La Bufala on Deliveroo so now to try their Tagliolini Mimo and Lasagna :)
Excellent food. Kids really liked the pizzas. My pasta was a little too salty but still very good
Excellent menu, plenty of choice, good wine list too.
Very overcrowded and cramped with tables very close to each other. Had to end up in the area behind pizza oven, which was extremely hot and noisy as waiters congregated there. Music was too loud with regular playing of the same advert for Nexum indigestion tablets - not the most reassuring message to hear from a restaurant. The food was good and the pricing is fair.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere but service a little slow.
Great food, service and ambience. Highly recommend the papardelle with prawns and mushrooms!
Decent food - swordfish slightly overcooked, but romanesco sauce really good. Loud and rather crowded inside, oh and very hot inside for an October evening...couldn't wait to leave and find a pub!
We attended one of our favourite restaurants in North London and as usual the food and setting was spectacular. The service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. They are informative- for example I wasn't sure whether to go for the tagliata steak dish or seabass. The waiter took the time to speak to the chef and came back with the seabass recommendation. Please see below for photos.
The only spoiler was that we arrived at 8.30pm and by the time our bottle and first course arrived it was already 9. 25pm. We were half way through our meal when a stressed out employee plonked the bill down and told us that we had to get out as it was 10pm (in accordance to government guidelines).
We felt rushed and this was disappointing as it had be a spectacular evening up until this point.
I would urge the restaurant to consider a cut off point when booking tables so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Otherwise a simply brilliant evening and I can't recommend this place enough.
Hands down the best pizza I have had in London!! Will definitely be revisiting the restaurant for more margarita dop
Did not feel Covid secure at all. We were out on a small table in a crowded restaurant next to an extremely loud group of six who did not wear masks when walking around. Could not hear eachother speak. Did not close at 10pm.
Absolutely lovely food but unfortunately let down by very bad service. Our waiter initially served us incorrect drinks which took a further 40 mins to rectify. This should have been rectified immediately. We ordered our food which took over 1hr45 to arrive. We also saw other diners complaining about the long wait for the food. We kept trying to flag down the waiter to ask for more drinks/to ask how long the food would be but he kept ignoring us. It took us a further 30 mins to grab someone’s attention by which point we were very thirsty and hungry. Very good food but personally the whole experience was ruined for us as we literally spent the whole meal trying to get the attention of the waiter. My advice, get takeaway but don’t dine in.
We came for two courses for a friend's birthday, the starters were nice and arrived promptly. However, our starter plates took an hour to be cleared and the mains took long over an hour to arrive. This was done once we reminded them (twice) to check on our mains. Once we complained again, after our recieving our mains two hours after sitting down, we were told that in Italian culture, this is how food is served. Unfortunately, I do not believe this is the case. While the dining experience may be different in Italy, I don't believe any Italian person would wait for over an hour between courses.
A final note will add that the restaurant was far too busy to be abiding by social distancing rules. It was at full capacity with tables far less than a metre apart which made us feel uncomfortable, especially considering how long we waited.
Overall the experience was extremely disappointing, but it's possible that we caught them on the wrong day... Nevertheless, we're unlikely to return, mostly owing to the fact that our complaint was met with such insolence.
Amazing food a great service. Maybe location need improvement but I would definitely come back! And I’m saying this as Italian!
We went to the restaurant to find it closed.
Great food and fantastic service.
Party of four all enjoyed.
The food was very good. The service was a bit slow and it wasn’t particularly busy on the day.
Lovely except for the endless stream of ‘alien’ delivery people coming in and out
