The restaurant was closed without notice
There was only a note on its door
We ended up finding this place closed during our last visit to London. We had booked weeks ago and we received no info about the fact that it was closed. If we would have known, we would have had the opportunity to book at their other location.
Booked the offer but as menu was so limited ended up ordering from regular menu. I had specified while booking on here that it was our anniversary, that was never mentioned. It’s dark and lacks atmosphere, the staff seems unhappy. The food was tasty but at those prices you expect a decent curry, not special and not as nice as Chutney Mary’s.
Sexy restaurant. Hidden in a basement. We had the price fix. First course was beautiful and delicious. Main and dessert were very gloppy, ordinary Indian, okay.
A wonder retreat to a mod but timeless India beneath busy London. Great food.
Father’s Day dinner. Great space with perfect ambient lighting and beautiful set ups of the tables. We had a party of 10 which they catered for so well. Lovely food menu with an excellent vegetarian option and a wonderful cocktail menu.
Tasty food, different from the usual Indian fare.
Friendly service!!
Nice meal, booked £28 feast menu but had changed it so got 3 courses for £25 - still very nice
Having been spoilt for choice amongst many of the acclaimed Indian restaurants in London, this did not meet all expectations. The food was good, however it was nothing breathtaking compared with Amaya, Veeraswamy or even Masala Zone for Indian palate. Perhaps the expectations were too high...
Anyway, the ambience was that closer to a bar/lounge place where dance anthems were played far too loudly for normal conversation. The service was great and staff very helpful when being asked questions about their wine list.
I would go again, but not for a sophisticated occasion such as a birthday/anniversary. More for general catch ups with friends before stepping out to Piccadilly/Leicester Square which is close by.
The restaurant is located in a great area, the food was excellent however little to expensive. The menu does not offer much of a selection. Everything has to be ordered, no bread or salad included in any plates.
Overall it was okay.
My friends and I went for a meal at the Mint Leaf and tried the street food set menu. The starters were very nice but the rest of the courses were very disappointing and not authentic indian cuisine, the spicy was wrong, no depth to the flavour. The drinks were over priced. Very disappointing.
Mint Leaf Is a bit of a tired version of Indian version of Hakkasan . Fairly busy for Easter Sunday. Food was very tasty though mains were not overly warm. Service a little hit or miss - the bill was produced very quickly without any thanks and no hot/cold towel etc which when you have paid over £150 for two is a little poor
A visit to the Mint Leaf Haymarket for lunch never disappoints, and with their exceptionally well priced Street Food Menu at £12 for two courses and a drink you can’t go wrong.
We had the Masala Bonda (Crab Cakes) and Chicken Kathi Roll to start with (they didn’t have the Avocado and Corn Salad I originally chose), followed by Murgh Jaipuri and Malabar Fish accompanied by steamed basmati rice and garlic naan. This excellent food was washed down with a Cobra beer and a coke, all for under £35 including service. We also enjoyed the addition of a hot towel at the end to round off the enjoyable meal.
You’d struggle to get better food quality vs price anywhere in Central London.
Went here while my boss and his sister was down the road in Pall Mall. I was told about here as some celebrates and royals have been here. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food for the price was exceptional. I would definitely be coming back sometime.
Nice restaurant and good for the winter given that it's in the basement. Not sure I'd go there in the summer. The theming is quite dark, but it's well lit.
They had a pre/post theatre menu which was good value (which wasn't offered. we had to ask for it), but as it didn't really have enough options even for a pescatarian, so we went off of the full a la carte menu.
Food was pretty good, portions were decent but it was over priced.
I'd go again, but only after getting a bonus! ;-)
service was under par!
slow! and the restauarant looked tired and dirty.
Great dining experience, more clarity and help with the menu could have helped in choosing what variety of food to pick.
Really enjoyed our evening meal. Good mix of modern & traditional dishes along with a few good cocktails
We would highly recommend Mint Leaf Haymarket to anyone who values authentic Indian cuisine. Remmie and the team went out of their way to meet our dietary requirements and provide us with an incredible meal filled with variety and extremely tasty. Thank you for a wonderful evening and we will definitely be visiting again.
Mint Leaf does excellent curries. The a la carte is expensive but the service is good and the food is a treat. Never very busy at lunch time, a big space with dark surroundings. A good place to get away from mobile phone signal and enjoy a good lunch in peace. The malabar prawns are a must, as is the malabar fish on the excellent value street food menu, 2 dishes and a drink for £12!
Very good food from street food menu and reasonable price. Drinks over-priced, house wine terrible and service positively hostile.
Meal for 2 and a couple cocktails each will set back around £150....for that price the food is very very average and I mean indian takeaway averay. Fine place if you have zero sophisitcation when it comes to indian food. If you want a load of spices mixed with oil and to pay a premium for that ... then it's fine. Service was nice enough staff were attentive but to reiterate food was edible just about.
Have not visited The Mint Leaf for awhile but I was not disappointed. Ate from the pre theatre menu which was exceptional value. Menu limited but my partner and I both ordered different food and shared all the dishes. The food is beautifully presented, flavours dance magically in the mouth and more than sufficient. The happy hour cocktails added to the treat. The restaurant was fairly quiet as it was only 6pm but it quickly filled up. Decor and ambience is always perfect. The service was not rushed and we had plenty of time to walk down the Strand to the theatre after we had eaten. Will definitely be back.
“Do they do six stars on trip advisor?” , “why haven’t we been here before?” And “you did good dad”
These were comments from my family on a wonderful pre theatre meal for four at the mint leaf
The food was simply delicious, the environment was excellent and the service was very high quality
We will definitely come back
Thank you mint leaf
Considering the location, pretty good. We let them know we were in a hurry and they were helpful. Highly recommend the paneer starter
As this was a pre-theatre meal it was disappointing not to be offered that menu as an option. Although early it soon filled up and had a good vibe. The staff were friendly and efficient. The glasses of wine we had with the meal were not great - usually they are a bit fruity to deal with the spices but these reds were rather dry. The star is the food. The bhel puri was excellent as was the chilli squid and there was a lot on both plates. For mains we had the aubergine and pea dish and it too was very good and the venison. The staff did ask if we were ok with spicy food and we are and we ate this dish but really the heat was just a bit overdone. It was the one thing that detracted a little from the authenticity of the cooking but overall it was a good meal and we had no room for a dessert. We'd visit again.
Birthday of my brother in law
Amazing food, quick and friendly service and a great environment to dine in. We spent New Year's Eve here and will certainly return for another occasion.
Lovely food and cocktails, but service was a little slow.
I booked a table for 3, through Open Table for a friends birthday and got confirmation of the booking. But when we got there, Mint Leaf could not find the booking. So no Special mention of the Birthday either. Very Expensive Meal for a Very Average Meal. Our local Takeaway food is much tastier and less than 1/4 of the price.
We really enjoyed it. Loved the chicken tikka rolls to start. Everything was really tasty
Mint Leaf is one of my favourite spots, great food, drinks and services
Not many places at this time of year that can cater for a table of 13 with no fuss, no pre-ordering and no set menus unless you want them. The waiter helped with the ordering and it was just right. Food very good, nice atmosphere. Good bar area for cocktails before. Overall a very good night. Thank you.
Lovely food and great cocktails! Highly recommend the pre/post theatre menu as it’s great value for money. It made a catch up with friends even more enjoyable.
Elevated Indian food. Better than what we expected. Portions were perfect. Flavors on point.
WE had an amazing Sunday Lunch here. The set meall is brilliant. It was a bit quiet - so not a lot of atmosphere but the food made up for that
Lovely food but was cold by the time it got to the table. Restaraunt was not busy but service was wanting- slow for drinks/ no table pleasantries and waiters standing in small group chatting.
Not great value for money.
Delicious and good value 8 course street food menu for a fixed price! The taste of each dish was
exquisite and beautifully presented. The waiter was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.
I needed to change the booking last minute to 6 people so I called the restaurant directly and they happily amended.
Food was amazing! Cocktails were delicious.
They even wrote a happy birthday message and put a candle to the dessert we ordered which was a lovely touch.
Brilliant staff and such a lovely Chilled out with luxury atmosphere.
