As I read from previous reviews, service was slow and intermittent. We were served our water bottle and appetizer before plates, glasses, or utensils. I had to go find someone to bring us those items. They seem to be missing a layer of staff to handle these things. My wife had the chicken and she really liked it. I had the bolognese served with burrata but the bolognese sauce was too scarce. I asked for more but it took a long time for delivery. We will probably go again and hope they have more staff before our next visit.
Good and service was excellent. Only outdoor seating was available when we booked our reservations. We were seated.closest to a major roadway with a medium level of traffic. Although one gets use to it, it was distracting. Perhaps those tables closest to the road and the mass transit could be nixed.
Excellent food in a cool little spot in South Miami
Nice restaurant but too expensive for lunch. A lunch menu would be nice and would probably bring in more customers.
Great place delicious food
Everything was great, staff servers ambiance all was outstanding. My only issue was the food was bland, it needed more seasoning/flavor. The tiramisu was to die for. But everything else was great! I will return.
The Branzino was excellent! Also, very good wine selection.
For an upscale Italian restaurant, on a Tuesday at 8pm we were shocked that they were out of their Lasagna and 4 of their 8 main pasta dishes….also out of 2 of the 3 wines we chose. Reason was that their supplier was out of product.
Great Food, Great service, Great staff. And Sarina is Number 1
$12 pasta night is a very good deal. Well trained staff.
Party of five-service was great drinks as well - food tasty nice selection
Food tasted bad, cold, and old. Service was very slow. Will not be dining and spending money there again.
Second time I've been here and both have been very good. We've had pastas, branzino, osso bucco, and all have hit the mark. Whipped ricotta toast is AMAZING. If they ever think of taking it off the menu I'd go on strike in front of their building lol
The food was terrible. The service was slow. It was the first time I asked the waitress if there’s something wrong in the back. It took 20 minutes to be seated with not many patrons. The whole experience was overrated. Anything higher than 1-star is a fallacy. To spend $50/pp is an embarrassment to the food industry.
Always a great time! With people coming back to restaurants we understood the longer wait for the food service but totally understand the restaurant industry has been hit hard during COVID19. Our server/bartender Serena was great and made our entire experience enjoyable. Also, good friend of mine was having dinner wife his wife and Brian accommodated some drinks to their table. Really appreciate that! The hostesses were also very polite and helpful. As always we will be back! Polenta and Meatballs are out of this world.
Service was amazing ambiance as well. Had local jazz duet playing they were great.
Food was ok not particularly tasty kinda of bland for my taste. I will get it another try just in case it was our particular dishes.
I love the food here and the service was excellent!
The food was very mediocre, was honestly a little disappointed, especially driving almost an hour... But great looking place, and good service!
The ambiance is great, service was good food taste was average maybe the cook was having an off day.
Food is spectacular and the place is beautiful, nice for all type of date.
Pleasantly surprised by everything in this hidden gem. All aspects of the visit to the restaurant was great. The ambiance is awesome, the food and taste is unique. Everything was great
Overall great experience. Ambiance was great; loved the live music. Food was delicious. Waitress was knowledgeable. Pesto ravioli wasn’t phenomenal but everything else was delicious. Desserts were decadent. Note: when booking on open table it wasn’t clear regarding live music; nor on the restaurant website. Live music is outside in the Somi Gardens.
Food was excellent as always. Top notch service and great ambiance
This was our first visit back to Mi’Italia since the pandemic. It was just awful. The service was slow and the food was a mixed bag. The olive appetizer was great but my chicken parmigiana was inedible. The chicken was hard and rubbery and the polenta, while tasty was lumpy. The tomato sauce was also flavorless and scant. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs which was good but so small he was hungry after. We spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and explained that they have had problems with finding workers. She was totally appropriate but still charged us for my dish. She did send a free dessert and gave us coupons for a free drinks or dessert next time which was nice. So we will give them one more try and hope next time is better.
Emma, our server, was amazing! So attentive and super friendly. I've been going to Mi'talia since they opened-I love everything from the drinks and food to the insanely delicious salt rub scent they pipe through the restrooms. Last night I ordered the sunflower pizza, my favorite dish on their menu, and it was literally the best pizza (including previously ordered pizzas from Mi'talia, deep dish chicago, and NY) that I've ever eaten....OUTSTANDING :)
This was one of our favorite restaurants in Miami. Sadly yesterday we did not have a good experience. The food was under seasoned or over seasoned, all dishes were cold and service took forever, even desert that was a simple Sunday took 45 min to arrive!!!
We will give the restaurant another opportunity and hopefully they will redeem themselves.
It would be sad to see one of the best family restaurants in the city with such an enjoyable atmosphere, loose it’s standards
Excellent food, lovely decor, attentive staff.
The room is nice and modern, the crew kind and efficient, the menu is made of classic Italian recipies recreared with a original touch and the prices are more than fare: excellent price/value ratio. The wine list excelent. The ambiance could be better without music or with it at a lower level
In two words: highly recommended
I stayed in south beach and we drove 40 minutes to this restaurant.. totally worth the drive. Everything was great.. food was fresh and home made... Service was fantastic.. and I thought the value was great... The bolognese was a favorite... I had the branzino which was great.. portions were great... I'd highly recommend this restaurant and next time I am in Florida I will be visiting...
We had a great lunch at Mi'talia. The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend their Tiramisu, it may be the best one I've had! Our server was attentive and pleasant. I will be back!
Had a wonderful time eating outside. Pretty setting but noisy outside due to Metrorail.
It was fabulous as per usual. The staff is wonderful, the food amazing!!!
This is our second time at Mi'Talia Kitchen and Bar and the food and service was mediocre. The first visit the food was excellent and the service was impeccable even
though the restaurant was full on a Wednesday. This time the service was slow even though the restaurant was basically empty at 7:30 pm; my Nonna Bolognese was cold when it arrived at the table and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan with creamy polenta and the polenta was crumbly and dry, nothing creamy about it. It seemed like old cornbread scraps after a few days. I informed the manager (Maria) and she apologized and wanted to give us a free dessert and we declined. You can't make up with a dessert a mediocre meal and slow service. I don't like spending my hard earned money in restaurants that are not consistent with their service or food, my husband and I agree we will not go back, too many restaurants in Miami that are very consistent to give this one a try again, sorry!!!!!
Had a great Cesar Salad!
The food was well cooked and presentation was adequate. Service is the best. However, the sitting arrangements were awful. We asked to be seated outside to have more space, but tables were cramped and barely could walk around. The outside terrace, although small, was shared by two restaurants.
Mother’s Day lunch- excellent service and wonderful food
Always love this restaurant. It is consistently good and the service is right on point.
Besides the service that was on point the food on the other hand was not. Very disappointed with the food. The pasta was to Al dente for my liking. The chicken Parm was overly burnt and the side pasta had no taste and to watery. The staff was very friendly and helped fixing the issue on the spot but the damage was already done. Not a fan on giving bad reviews but the food needs to be tweaked starting with their Marinara sauce. It's too watery
For was great. Very lively. Good for a celebration!!
