Food is excellent. The restaurant has a clean and relaxed atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff
We had a wonderful time here - the service was outstanding in the food was wonderful! Will definitely be back again when the world has gone back to normal x
Absolutely fantastic meal, from start to finish our experience was friendly and thoroughly enjoyable. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, and service was perfectly timed. We had an assortment of sushi and small plates and a desert. Hand on heart Miya provided the best sushi we’ve ever had, particularly the dragon roll which was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful experience, we can’t wait to come back soon.
Love this place! It’s classy, with a friendly team and yummy, we’ll presented food.
I’ve had dinner here several times, and recently had the Sunday buffet lunch which was well worth the £!!! If you haven’t eaten here before, it’s a must.
Great food, and great service and handy for both the theatre and cinema
The buffet was great, noodles, rice, dessert and most important a variety of sushi. I will definitely go again.
Wonderful new place to dine in Aylesbury. A real treat almost on our doorstep.
Only downside was the emptiness of the place.
Please Aylesbury , embrace this Beautiful Japanese restaurant in this beautifully restored Edwardian building!
A real treat. Especially for The theatre goers, a stones throw from the Riverside Theatre ! How lucky is Aylesbury????
Had lunch here with my daughter on 27 February. I had the duck and mango purée hosomaki and my daughter had the katsu curry and the salmon maki. All dishes were excellent and my daughter ate everything considering she is fussy I was very impressed. We also had dessert of dorayaki and Mochi, which again was delicious. The interior of the restaurant certainly has the wow factor and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. All in all a fab experience and we can’t wait to return.
Excellent food service and ambience hence the cost
Excellent on all dimensions: decor, comfort, service - and above all the food, delightful Japanese cuisine
Delicious food, attentive and helpful staff. Would go there again
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great choice of food on menu
We just had a variety of 11 starters between seven of us with extra noodles....all delicious. And the staff were so friendly, will go again soon
Great food with amazing flavours. Good service and stylish decor. A great experience and will return again soon!
Took my mum out for her birthday. Pre theatre meal. Lovely!
Lovely food. Served in good time.
Friendly staff. Good wine. Will be going back!
We were not advised that it would be a set menu only on Valentine’s night so were very disappointed not to have the full menu.
Amazing Valentine’s Day meal, great food and an amazing smile from a lovely lady on her first shift
Service was poor, waiting for 40 mins to be seated.
The place was understaffed and the management was heard reprimanding the male waiting who was serving our table many times during our meal which was off putting.
The food was amazing but the general experience wasn't great unfortunately.
Absolutely now my favourite restaurant... couldn’t fault anything food and service outstanding.
The food was good but the service was nearly non existent. They were really short of staff so the ones that were there were really struggling. Everyone was talking about it, but the food was fantastic so we all just smiled and got on with it. The staffing issues need to be sorted though - 3 hours for a meal is too much and the service speeded up towards the end when the restaurant emptied out. What isn't obvious if you book on Open Table is that there are two different areas with different menus.
The food was fantastic, delicious and generous portions. We were served by the owner who was brilliant and able to offer great recommendations on what to order. However the overall service let our experience down slightly as the service was very slow. Had we been given a bit more attention they would have got a couple more drink orders out of us!
We had the valentines set menu which comes with a glass of prosecco, the lady that seated us said she’d get it but disappeared and never did. In the end someone arrived to take our drink order so we asked for our prosecco. Then we made our food order and other than bringing our food over we weren’t asked if we would like another drink. In the end we had to ask for a drink when they cleared our plates from the main.
But as I said the food was lovely as was the atmosphere.
Lovely very helpful waiter
Beautiful deco, food needed a bit of explaining
We have never been before. We both had Bento boxes for lunch 1 veggy 1 chicken. The food was lovely and beautifully presented. Miso wasn't very hot but was tasty.
My only complaint would be that, on seating us the waitress said I'll get you some water to start with would you like flat or sparkling? The water came as a small bottle each and charged at £2.50 per bottle, which I think is expensive for water. We only had the water with our meal but I may have chosen something else to drink given an option. Other than that the service was great.
I would recommend Miya but beware of the water question when seated!
Miya is in a beautiful building, the staff were great, the food was wonderful and the bar and restaurant had a great ambience. It is not cheap so not an every day place but worth every penny for a special occasion.
Our first visit and we will definitely be back, extensive menu which was explained by our waitress, food was sublime and at a good price. Our only criticism was that the restaurant was practically empty but we were sat next to a table that was occupied, just feel that we could have been spread out a bit, especially as we had a rather chatty gent sat at the next table. Not that this was the restaurants fault but would have been avoided if we could have sat in a different space.
Very good food! Attentive service and lovely new restaurant in Aylesbury
We had a fabulous family meal and chose to book later for lunch as we had a 5 month old. It was quiet and perfect for us. The food was enjoyed by all and for my 4th visit to Miya I am still impressed.
We had a great meal for our first visit. The service was great and we all enjoyed our different meals. Asahi on draft was great too. The only thing we felt was the lighting was quite bright but it’s a minor thing and we will be back.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great. The starter plates were really good but the main courses a little disappointing. Also the beef tataki (one of my favourite dishes) was overdone.
Beautifully decked out restaurant and bar area. At first we were seated in an empty room while most of the diners and restaurant ambiance went on in the main room. After a while some more diners joined us which was nice. The service was very quick and attentive with the very pleasant female server asking us if we enjoyed our first course. The male server just removed our main course plates without asking and just asked if we wanted dessert. Food was lovely and generous. Overall a pleasant ding experience.
I never review anything, this place however fantastic this was our second visit. This time we brought our 4 year old and a 2 year old. Staff are great food is fantastic. I will definitely go back.
So glad this place is on my door step, a lovely place to eat and go for drinks.
Absolutely amazing food, can't wait to come back again. The decoration and atmosphere was really impressive, very polite and informative staff as well. Have already recommended Miya to everyone I've seen since visiting.
A bit quiet at lunch time but a well positioned restaurant with good food at reasonable prices.
Good food and enjoyable experience. Would recommend this venue.
I have already recommended Miya to my friends and we are arranging another night out in the next few weeks.
Great food, good value and great service. Can't say much more!!
Miya is fantastic - been there twice now. The place has been beautifully done up, and the food is great. They have different rooms, this time we sat in the big room with the bar, and it was really noisy but in an ok kinda way.
Wonderful fresh affordable food - only downside was as a twosome we were sat at a table for 6/8. Recommended!
Lovely friendly staff, great food, nice venue ! !!
