First time here and omg, delicious, clean tasting food, so good we ordered two further dishes after we’d finished!
All good, food nice and relaxed atmosphere would go again. Pricey but worth it.
Food excellent, but disappointed that it was served western style
a little on the cool side early on, but it's a big area to heat, so not much they can do
. Love it there will definitely be back
This was our first visit to Miya Japanese Grill and Bar and we loved it. We went for lunch on a Monday so it was a little quiet, but that was to be expected, however the food, service and look/feel of the restaurant was exceptional. We will definitely be visiting again.
Really nice never really had japanese food it was superb and the edamame beans - chilli went down very well whilst we waited for our starter will be going back again good selection of drinks
great staff, nice decor, perhaps more choice on mains, but really not that bad at all.
Nice service, beautiful settings, great food and pleasant atmosphere! We will be back. Thank you so much and see you soon!
We came to Miya for our 11th wedding anniversary. We had lots of great reviews from friends and family but wanted to check it out for ourselves. As soon as we came in we were greeted and shown to our table. Our drinks order was taken and we were left to take in the ambience. We were seated upstairs in the main restaurant but there were many options for seating including private dining and sitting opposite the chef to watch him cook. Once our cocktails arrived our food order was taken. After approximately 30mins (And several amazing cocktails later) our starters were served and the presentation did not disappoint. They were really tasty and filling. Once finished the plates were quickly cleared away and given a short break before our mains arrived that were equally delicious. We finished off the evening with coffees and a tour round the building. We look forward to more night at Miya a great addition to Aylesbury’s dinning options.
Absolutely fantastic evening for daughter's birthday. Daughter is autistic and the staff were all incredibly understanding and thoughtful. The food, drinks and atmosphere was all perfect 👍👍😀😀🤩
Our first visit. Food amazing. We had the tepanyaki . Service leaves alot to be desired. Staff are friendly enough but not well trained in customer service. We had to ask to order drinks as no one came to take out order. Staff didn’t seem to be looking around to check on customers, no awareness of customers waiting. Literally as our dessert was being cleared we were asked if we wanted the bill.
I asked where the toilets were & was told downstairs. On getting down I had no idea where to go. The waiter I had just asked was behind me & just walked off! We heard another table complaining about the time they had been waiting for food.
It’s not cheap, so you expect food & service to be good. We loved the food it was delicious. Front of house need to be running a tighter ship, it’s currently letting the side down.
Miya is a very elegant Japanese restaurant bar and grill. It has several eating and social areas, so it can be for every occasion. Including several sunken tables, should you wish to have the fun Japanese authentic eating experience. Miya provides several different menus. A teppanyaki menu, with a private grill area for parties up to twelve. A pre theatre menu which is great value, and an extensive full menu. The food is amazing, fresh and full of flavour. It is displayed so beautifully on the plate, almost looks too good to eat.
As a family we are so pleased to have Miya in Aylesbury and we hope that it thrives.
Lovely place , much effort put on decor and the food is good, .Wold recommend.
£5 for a bottle of water is crazy ... it’s Aylesbury not London !!
Excellent food and great value for money. A beautiful setting and staff were very helpful but not overpowering.
Great restaurant in an amazing old building tastefully decorated. Ambience is nice, not too noisy. Good choice of tasty food and drinks. Drinks are a little more expensive here.
Our first visit - made very welcome, good choice - not particularly authentic Japanese cuisine but very good, none the less.
We'll be back
Food delicious , lovely feel and decor . No feel of being rushed
First visit to Miya and was not disappointed. Only down side was the steak was tough but this was dealt with immediately. Booked again!
First visit to a Japanese restaurant and very impressed with the variety of food. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and explained the menu. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. Would definitely visit again.
Food was amazing! The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and staff were very helpful
Excellent ambience, food and service. Great place to have in Aylesbury! 👏👌
Food is amazing, lots on the menu to choose from! Very good service as well
Fantastic decor, very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful food. Highly recommended for special occasions.
We were really impressed with the Sushi starters but the main courses were underwhelming. The teriyaki sauce lacked depth of flavour and appeared to be added to the dish after cooking. the chicken was overcooked and the duck tough! Really disappointed as we love Japanese food, had read some good reviews for the place and were looking forward to being regular visitors.
Very different restaurant for Aylesbury. The ambience was very pleasant. Starters were exceptionally good, particularly the teriyaki beef. Mains were a bit too sweet and not helped by having a chunk of roasted pineapple served on the plate. Service was very good and attentive and I would certainly return to this restaurant.
Would return again in a few months although very expensive for what it is. Vegan menu needs improvement as very limited and would be good to explain what each different part of it people have never been to a Japanese before
Decor and ambiance was good/very good. Staff were friendly, but not Japanese. Ebi Tempora was very good. The veg tempora a little chunky and quirky (not had potato tempora before). Teriyaki Salmon was very tasty. Portions were on the large side. Too much western influence for my liking, and only 1 Japanese beer on the menu.
Great to have something completely different in Aylesbury.
Lovely experience, great food.
lovely staff but food was not good.
music was a bit loud and questionable content.
Friendly staff, tasty food, classy. Will be returning
The best restaurant in Aylesbury. Food is great, drinks are great, service is great, decor is great. Nothing not to love about this place.
The restaurant's décor is lovely and tables are a bit close together but alright; The food was very good and a nice separate bar area. Looking to revisit soon. Highly recommend.
Group of friends - perfect venue. Delicious food, great service, lovely setting and good atmosphere! Best restaurant in Aylesbury!
Brilliant vibe and food was fantastic. A great new addition to Aylesbury
Absolutely beautiful. Great food. Fantastic service.
Beautiful decor, amazing food and excellent service! Can not wait to go back!
Excellent food, fantastic location. Drink and food is a bit pricey for the area, but still excellent.
It’s great to have such a nice independent restaurant in Aylesbury. A huge amount of work and thought has gone into the look and decor and the food was great. I do feel that the prices are more what you would expect to find in London where the overheads are higher, we had to request the pre-theatre menu which is cheaper rather than being offered it. I think that more should be made of deals like this to be competitive with Wagamama and Sushi Corner nearby. It’s a very large space and getting more people through the door with promotions around happy hour deals etc would really improve the atmosphere. Miya is a very welcome step away from the standard chain restaurants and we will definitely be back. Perfect for date nights and special occasions.
Venue and service were great. Unfortunately food was a let down for me. I had chicken teriyaki, the chicken was tasteless. Far too much batter on gyoza’s and prawn tempura. I love batter, but after one I had to peel it off the rest.
