Incredible food and service from the owners here! Super accommodating to dietary issues and know how to tend to guests.
Above and beyond!
Service was excellent, although it was a Thursday night and it was pretty quiet so I don't know how it is when its busy. I always appreciate the presentation, and I liked their portuguese tile looking plates as well as the way the dishes we ordered were served.
We got the calamari and chorizo to share and they were very good. Our mains were the grilled octopus and grilled sea bass which were both great as well. Nice selection of portuguese wines as well. I would suggest to add to their ambience by playing fados and have some candle light. Overall, good food and prices are very reasonable.
Delicious food, and great menu. Highly recommend
Well prepared dishes with polite courteous service in a simple setting - good local spot and worth a drive
Amazing food with amazing service! Thank you for an exceptional dine experience !
Grilled Octopus is fire and fantastic wine 👌🏼
Excellent in every way!!!
Christmas Eve dinner
A great place if you don't want to converse in your indoor voice. The long narrow room with no sound absorbent material creates a situation ill suited to conversation if there are more than a few customers in the place. it was about 3/4 full when we were there and the noise was ear splitting.
The 4 top at which we were seated was on the small side and the crockery, cutlery, and wine and water glasses were packed onto the table. The food was mediocre. The tomato crostini was topped with rock hard tomatoes which also turned up as veg with several of the mains . It would be smart not to use them when not in season as they have no taste. The trio of rapini, tomatoes and "salt crust roasted potatoes" which appeared boiled and salted rather than roasted, showed up on too many of the mains. Little evidence of creativity in the kitchen. My wife's sardines were fairly fishy smelling and we always expect them to be a little strong, these were more so than usual. The fried calamari was nicely done, however. The octopus was pretty good, but at $32 for 1 decent sized tentacle, it seemed a little too pricey, more so when you consider the lackluster accompaniments. I am probably spoiled by having eaten the octopus starter at Ferro which is the best value octopus dish i have seen anywhere. At $ 16 including potatoes, green veg and romesco sauce, it makes a very filling meal. And you can enjoy a comparable noise level at Ferro as well.
Delicious food, good value.
Portuguese food and service that reminds one of being there - solidly prepared mains and innovative tasty shareable starters coupled with a good wine list and delicious deserts - a very good hot coffee ...with friendly attentive service ...on the Ossington strip - should be a weekly destination !
Great wait staff and above average cuisine. Great location right off a main street witih no parking issues. well decorated and a nice comfortable ambience.
Simple, traditional Portuguese cuisine with a great choice of starters, good choice of fish mains and a few for meat lovers. The desserts were limited but traditional and delicious. The full menu is published on their website. Very pleasantly presented and descent size portions. Attentive and engaging staff. A good selection of regional Portuguese wines fairly priced. The decor was somewhat basic but the restaurant was very clean and tidy. A restaurant appealing to both couples and families. We Look forward to returning.
Just average at best. Has the octopus. Entirely forgettable. Service pleasant but severely understaffed.
It's a great place for meeting friends or having a date night. Service was super warm and friendly. Food was great. We really enjoyed the Porgugees flavour.
The Ossington location was also convenient.
Moliceiro has become a go-to for a delicious yet affordable dinner. A bottle of (good) wine, two entrees, and no one leaving hungry for under $100 is nearly impossible to find in Toronto. Would specifically recommend any of the seafood dishes.
Amazing food !!! Great location!!!
The food was excellent. Very well prepared and presented. Informed server. Comfortable chairs.
It was ok. My cod was over cooked and a bit dry, it took our server 45 minutes to clear appetizer dishes (he kept bypassing us until I finally directly asked him to clean off dirty empty plates) and there was no lime at the bar, which is bizarre for a fully stocked bar. Gin and tonic came with lemon as my request for lime couldn’t be accommodated.
This is a great find and a neighbourhood gem! Casual, vibrant atmosphere. Feels like mom's cooking in the kitchen - cozy, homecook Portuguese dishes. Love the spicy clams! Shared dishes encourage conversation and exchange of food preferences. Mostly Portuguese wines and some Spanish - good selections! Great value for a wonderful meal! We'll be back!
Fantastic; the food was phenomenal, and the prices we amazing.
The service was great, and we had our bottle of wine within a minute after ordering on a Friday night.
We have found a new place to come back to!
Great home made food! Great service. Definitely would return to try more dishes.
Food was awful - squid, octopus and rapini where almost uneatable
Loved it... Elevated Portuguese and good value. Loved it.
Really pleasant experience- food was great! The fish, perfectly grilled. Highly recommended!
Moliceiro was really cute, the service was great and the value was amazing, the wine was very affordable.
I would definitely recommend this to friends.
Great service. The food was really tasty. I loved the bass but am used to not having a whole fish and found there were too many little bones which were hard to see. My friend who is used to whole fish did not have the same issue. The shrimp appetizer was great. We were going to a play so did not try the desserts.
This was our first time at Moliceiro to celebrate a birthday. I chose it because of the emphasis on Fish in a Portuguese restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had the seafood pasta with piri-piri and the grilled squid. The latter was really tender. We will go back.
An amazing meal! The food and service were fantastic. Ambiance was great. Server was knowledgeable and recommended great apps and wine. The clams and shrimp are must haves. Would come back again!
All four people in our party loved their food. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were good, the atmosphere was lovely, and the noise level was low so we could easily chat and hear one another. We'll be back!
Our clams in a butter sauce were really good, although our mains and dessert were really disappointing. We got chicken piri piri and pasta with shrimps. My pasta was floating in a bath of a mixture of tomato sauce and oil, while the chicken was dry and bland. We got a chocolate mouse dessert to finish, but even that was bland, and unappealing by the look. Service was good and we got the dessert off from the final check.
Amazing meal and outstanding service. Definitely recommend!
I went for the first time last weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. I loved the place, the food was very tasty and the service was excellent.
The only suggestion I would do is to include more vegetarian options on the menu, I just found two main vegetarian dishes, although the risotto was very good is always nice to have different options to choose.
Good place fare prices, excellent service.
delightful discovery and genuinely like being in Portugal!! Having dined in Lisbon, Porto, on the Azores in the Douro wine region this was a wonderful deja vu experience.
Second time we've been there prior to going to the theatre and the food and service are excellent - all I can say is that you need to try the octopus!
I was expecting a bigger restaurant and live music based on what I had read on line. Very small area, and noisy. The food was good and reasonably priced. I was hoping for a broader menu with more choices outside the typical portuguese entrees that every Portuguese restaurant offers
Outstanding in all aspects of our dining experience. I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I am overly critical. We will definitely be going back and I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Good food and wine list. Good service, friendly, welcoming and attentive. Felt casual and relaxed but still elegant...except for the pop music that was playing. We will return...Hope to hear some fado, jazz or something more conducive to dining next time.
Great vibe, great staff. Chorizo and wine was great
Excellent Portuguese menu. The ameijoas and arroz de marisco were very good. So was the vinho verde Muralhas de Moncao
