Pricey for what you get. Food is overrated, looks okay but underwhelmed by the taste.
It was our first time at Mommi and we had a great evening, from beginning on the bar side of the venue (lovely cocktails and original and broad selection of other drinks too) to moving to the restaurant area sitting by the open kitchen.
The food is original and packed full of flavours. The entire menu is gluten free and so despite having 3 courses, we didn't feel overly full and thoroughly enjoyed every dish.
Their vegan menu is unusually inviting (and reasonably priced) so it's likely I'll give it a try next time! Already looking forward to it!
Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and professional. The ambiance was relaxed yet refined.
A really nice discovery and hoping to be back soon!
What a great discovery, an all gluten free restaurant where people do not even realise (literally, the guys next to me had been before and only now today they spotted it was gluten free). Good varied menu, with a Japanese-Peruvian twist but also incorporating Spanish tapas like patatas bravas and padrón peppers. The vegan tasting menu was fab and really good value. Service was attentive and ambiance fun. Will def be back!
Great food, bit of a chilli overload which took away some of the flavour but nevertheless I would recommend for sure.
The food and atmosphere was great but we were rushed off the table in an hour and a half, while we were still eating. I wouldn't go back.
Food was great, service was inattentive
Such a fun place - be wary though, they are very good at topping you up with your bottomless prosecco! We had a really good time there and I would for sure come back.
Accidentally found the best place to have Sunday lunch with children.
Mommi has so much going for it. For a start it has C-shaped booths all around the sides - perfect for trapped children so they can’t escape. It has a craft table for 3 years and over. My daughter was delighted. She had her face painted and made a paper plate holly wreath. Really good ideas and lovely people running it. And the food... delicious. Lovely roast with al dente veg and soft meat. And to add to it all staff who genuinely enjoyed the children. This place couldn’t be more perfect.
The food was fine. Service was good given how busy they were. However the highlight was they had a separate booth where kids could make things. It was amazing for my nephew. That was fantastic.
Food was terribly over priced
3 waitresses alternating asked us how food was twice and one third time within 20 min span. To the point where my partner had to say ‘OMG! I didn’t even swallow from when your colleague just asked!’ 😂
I had prawn starter as a main but was incredibly oily and bread was stale (at least a week old) so def not worth the money. Couldn’t finish it and had heartburn the entire evening. But ceviche was decent. Def not worth price.
Music too loud but good if you just going for cocktails. Not for nice dinner as.
Really interesting and varied menu. Great for vegetarians and the portions were so generous. Service and ambiance was great!
Did the premium tasting. All of the dim sum is amazing!
Fun place for dinner on a Saturday night. Very much heart of Clapham, people and location wise. Loved the live piano player later in the evening.
The Monday 40% off food was excellent value. Was also wonderful that entire menu was celiac friendly. Food was excellent (even not taking into account the discount and the gluten intolerant friendly menu). Worth trying!
I love the food at Mommi!! An explosion of flavours very well combined; 3 dishes per person is definitely enough to satisfy your hunger. Worth targeting Monday nights when there are excellent discounts available to increase the value you get for your money.
Absolutely amazing and ticks all the boxes. Looking forward to visiting again!
Food wasnt great at all. Service and ambience were good.
Absolute amazing service and we were all looked after very well. I wanted to add a gratuity to the card payment but I wasn't able (even if service charge was included I really wanted to leave something extra)
All meals are gluten free! I had the beef tataki sharing plate for starters, and miso salmon for mains. Outstanding food, and very polite service from the waiters. The boozy brunch crowd were a bit boisterous but we were sat at the back of the restaurant so we couldn't really hear them. I'd recommend asking to be sat there if you don't want to be disturbed. But overall, one of my favourite restaurants in Clapham
I was looking forward to Mommi’s Home Cooking. Not like my Mommi’s or even my Grandmommi’s but as good as someone’s Mommi nonetheless.
It was my third time in Mommi now. First time we came we where amazed by the food live music and with the staff. This time although staff was great the menu had changed and it wasn't as scrumptious as last time and the live music was not as good as last few times. We still had a great time but thought that it wasn't as good as the first time we where there.
Love the food, and the staff are just great!
Have taken many friends and family here, every time it’s a winner!
Foods so fresh. For people who want something different and unique. Committed to Gluten free. Bit noisy under blaring speaker and very cold air to the table we sat being near entrance.
Delicious food and great service. One of my friend’s is gluten free and was perfect for her
Will never go back to Mommi’s. Abominable right from start to finish. We were rushed to keep looking at the menu from the moment we sat down. The French waiter who attended to our table was dour and rude and it didn’t improve all through the evening. We thought we’d skim over the poor service and give the food a fair chance. I wish we hadn’t. Tasteless, bland and needed extra sauces to try and make it a tiny bit palatable. We ordered the sushi bowl, yucca fries, sweet potato fries, Pan fried king prawns and the tempura fish and chips. Our levels of disappointment increased incrementally with each dish we tried. Will never go back there again. I have no clue what the hype is.
Delicious food and cocktails for a person woth coelieac. Love the fusion and different tastes.
Good menu. Wanted to eat something light and be in and out within 90 minutes.
The Service was very friendly and took great care of us thankyou
Booked to dine here for dinner. Wasn’t seated at any of the tables available but instead were seated at the first available spot on the counter. I didn’t mind too much at the time, though it would have been nicer to have the option of sitting in a more comfortable spot. There was little leg room and it felt like we were just squished in the way of the walkway and a high table that was right behind us.
We were seen promptly after being seated so I asked for one of the booth tables instead, which were already booked for. I understood the rejection of my request and I didn’t press any further, but the restaurant was still quiet at the time. It obviously wouldn’t have been a problem if they seated us just a few seats further down the counter.
A few minutes later we placed an order with our server, who was friendly, though he didn’t get our order correct and forgot one of our dishes. If he repeated what our order was this could have been avoided.
Food wise, our starters were okay. Croquettes were tasty and the ceviche was nicely presented, though it’s components could have been more proportionate to each ingredient (had a large strip of salmon in the dish and only about 2-3 small pieces of diced sea bass). I was quite disappointed with my main (chicken teriyaki), mostly tasting like regular chicken covered in soy sauce and thrown on rice. The pork bites were really tasty and the flavour combinations worked well together.
Unfortunately, dining here, I found more negatives than positives. I wouldn’t personally recommend it for the overpriced dishes and - although friendly - inconsistent service.
Delicious Sunday Roast. We had the spatchcock chicken and roast lamb - both were flavour explosions with all the trimmings. Great value for money too. Already planning to go back
Lovely evening out with a friend. Great food, impeccable service, lovely atmosphere. A great address.
Overall really like the food. Very tasty. Love the pork belly bites - definitely my favourite. Friendly service. Only negative is that prices are a overpriced. (But I still gave an overall 5 star rating)
Excelente restaurante ! Comida y servicio 100 !
I love it but don’t like the service charge then being asked if I want to tip on top!
Excellent food and really good ambiance. The live band on a Friday is an excellent touch!
The food was good, especially the superfood option. The staff were lovely. The restaurant is way too noisy though. We asked to be moved away from the noise, originally we wouldn’t have been able to hear each other without shouting. The ambiance was more bar than restaurant.
We love it! Didn’t like being asked to leave an additional gratuity on top of the 12.5 already added to the bill. Particularly when the tip is split with management. TIP to improve performance- not to line the pockets of management. I think we should go the way that France has and ban compulsory/ discretionary charges.
