The best thing about this place was the outstanding service. Our waiter was excellent. I have a lot of allergies including gluten and soy, and he was very attentive and checked everything for me. It’s not usual I feel so safe eating at a restaraunt. This meant I was able to enjoy the experience with my husband. The sushi was great and tasted fresh. Everything else we ordered was good, but not outstanding. We had an excellent time here but mostly because of our waiter, the drinks, and people watching outside the big window we were seated next to. That being said I’ve been to many restaraunts with much better food.
In the end it depends what you’re looking for. We will definitely be back for the bar and a roll or two of sushi but would not recomend for a real culinary experience. It’s not that the food wasn’t good, it’s just that it wasn’t necessarily worth the value.
The Food was good and the service was great. The pricing was somewhat high.
Even though the food was okay, most of the service was sub-par and the behavior of the bartender (we sat at the bar with a snack before we sat down at a table for our meal) was downright unhygienic (throwing things towards us into the sink, which we were sitting behind, sadly, getting flecks of stuff into our soy sauce and green tea - wringing his cleaning cloth above said sink, extremely close to our food and drinks).
The same bartender, when we ordered a snack via him, was very dismissive of our question for clarification of our order, saying “yeah yeah yeah” as opposed to listening to us and reassuring us he had heard the order properly.
Furthermore, even though it was known we had a reservation, we had to ask a waitress to be seated after access to the restaurant was finally opened, rather than them informing us our table was ready.
Then, during the meal, it was nearly impossible to attract the attention of a waiter when we wanted to ask something.
Finally, we felt that the tables were too close together. During these times of pandemic, we did not feel safe eating at Momo’s. At the table next to us sat a man who came in coughing loudly and he kept on coughing throughout the time he was there. The staff did nothing to check up on this man’s health or to assess whether he could be a danger to the other guests.
Do NOT recommend this place.

There was only one person that spoke dutch! Besides (or because of) that, great lunch!
It is Gwen's mum who filled in this form. Normally Momo is the top. However this experience last sunday evening was horrific.
When it is Momo's new policy to give children's parties on Sunday evenings (1 or 2 year old..), you should have let us know that in advance. The shouting was so loud that we had to skip golddiggers and coffee, just to get out Momo a.s.a.p.
The group with the birthday kid was also very un-polite and didn't give anything about others and the fact that we are in the middle of a Corona crisis. The mother hang over our table, trying to get her child away (he was clinging to my table), whilst speaking close to my face....!! rude comments. (although I never said one word to them)
When we entered Momo, close to us there were also other people with 2 small children. They didn't shout, however, parents allowed them to walk all over the benches with their boots on... Not done in normal times, I think. But in Corona time it is devastating. Did you know that the virus can survice the longest on the soles of shoes? And with those shoes they walk all over your seats in your restaurant where people like my daughter and I come, nicely dressed, for an evening out.
It must be hard for you as restaurant owners/management and we sincerely hope you will survive this crisis. However, as a client, leaving your restaurant with an upset stomach and headache.. A spoiled (expensive) evening out with my daughter. We deserve better.
Nice ambience outstanding service, little bit too noisy en too dark, so i couldnt enjoy it such i expected.

The sushimi platter was delicious and the steak was melt in the mouth. My friend had the vegan sushi set which he thoroughly enjoyed. The staff we all extremely helpful and very beautiful, overall we had a great time
Heerlijk lunch gedaan bij Momo. Het eten is er altijd goed, ook nu weer. Dit keer zeer uitgebreid gegeten. Gestart met wakame boontjes met 3 sushi rollen: spicy tuna, shrimp tempura en de speciale wagu beef. Die was subliem. En daarna zoals altijd de spicy bentobox met extra duck rol ipv de inktvis.
We love Momo, but this time, the restaurant was empty, only 1 other table was occupied , and we still had to wait for the service . Our first order was forgotten to deliver to the table. I had to ask for this twice.
But we still love Momo and keep going
This is a great vibey and chic restaurant with delicious food and cocktails. Quite over priced for what you get but good ambience.
The food is great and the staff really kind. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam.
I never right any reviews but our experience was so bad that I felt that it was needed to share my experience. A good friend of mine recommended this restaurant but it wasn’t what I had expected based on his stories. It was way to expensive for the value that you receive. You can rather eat at a star restaurant where you get good personal attention and value for your money. We had the feeling that we where served out of the restaurant. We got our food way to fast every course. We took the Set - 3 Menu for 90 eu per person and ordered two bottles of Chardonnay (57 eu per bottle). Because the bottle wasn’t standing next to out table we had the feeling they were serving multiple tables with the same wine.
The food at the other hand was delicious but overal experience was very bad.
Great food, great service, great ambiance, what else can you ask for? My favorite place in Amsterdam!

Dinner in Momo is always a great food experience. Service is excellent. However, we prefer to have dinner early in the evening or lunch in the weekend. After 8.30 pm the noiselevel is not only unbearable, but you just can't have a normal conversation with friends on your own table.
Top restaurant! All the dishes were delicious, creative and refined! Fresh, crispy, modern and state of the art! Place to be!

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam with very trendy atmosphere. Lovely friendly staff from different countries so you can exercise your language skills. The food is amazing, Japanese , Asian style , you share dishes

For my wife's birthday - great atmosphere, amazing food and drink. Despite being super busy on a Saturday night, we were served relatively quickly once we had ordered although there was some delay having our order taken - people who came after us seemed to have their orders taken almost immediately.
Good music, food, dessert, amazing sushi.

I visited Momo three times and everytime it is disappointment. Momo is an amazing restaurant with a nice ambiance but the service is so bad. We waited for so long to get our food, it takes a while that somebody is helping you and our dishes arrived one by one so we could not fully enjoy. The dessert was delicious, but again we waited for 30 minutes! When I complained about the service they apologies because there is not enough staff for the evening. If you pay a lot of money then at least the service has to be nice. This was my last time in MoMo.
Just a Perfect Dinner ! Delicious fresh food and creative ideas to present it. We had the surprise Menue for 75€ p.p. And it was worth every cent. Only negative thing: The noise in the room was incredibly loud. But the restaurant was also very crowded. So just enjoy your dinner !

Very very disappointing. I had heard such great things. We were seated by the hostess, first thing she said was you can have the table till 10:15. I am sorry I made a dinner reservation at 8:15, I have never heard someone giving us a time limit. Food was ok service terrible and price insulting!

We are huge sushi fans and MOMO did not disappoint, the waitress was very knowledgeable and we went with her recommendation.
A taster menu, at first we thought €99 per person wow but we went with it. It was spectacular! Everything was high quality from yellow tail to Wagyu Beef.
Will visit again on a return visit to Amsterdam.

Delicious small plates, bites, dishes to share. Fresh products and a very good taste. Only the sashimi set and the wagyu sushi roll was not as good as expected. At the restaurant was very noisy. Overall it was very good, great service and nice ambiance.
Its just a great dining experience. Haven't been for back for a year or so.
