Hosting London luminaries, global travellers and those seeking sanctuary from the mundane.
Bask in their foliage adorned terrace or hang out in their hip subterranean bar sipping superb cocktails and taking in some tunes.
Had a really good meal with good friendly service without being rushed
Excellent! Including the momo cocktail!
Delicious, not too heavy. Beautiful decor, friendly staff. Glad we went.
main course fabulous and servers where terrific
only one complaint maybe price high
Great service, food okay, not comparable at all to the price.
I mean this is just Ok, nothing to rave about or go out of your way to book. Food was Okay, dessert was meh, drinks were Ok. One thing that is weird is that the toilets have a conjoined sink for both the genders so while I was in the women's I heard a man go to the loo and then saw him not wash his hands as the sinks are joint- so weird, what a poor design choice.
First time visiting since the refurbishment, great atmosphere and menu, topped off with a few fabulous cocktail.
Used to be great in the past. Food was delicious and it was authentic Moroccan. Now the menu has changed and recipes are not as traditional anymore. As a Moroccan I am not impressed, you pay much for non authentic food. Won't be coming here for food anymore. It is however a great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and excellent customer service.
Great service, we had a wonderful waiter who made us feel really welcome and recommend us the best red wine! The food was also delicious with great portion sizes.
What great feedback Rianna. Thank you for your kind words! Kind regards Team Momo
Great hidden gem. Been many times and never disappoints. A warm welcome, beautiful food and great service.
David you are too kind. We're happy you always have such a warm experience at Momo. Please do come back soon. Kind regards Team Momo
I was very disappointed that they were using the wrong type of couscous...(they were using a very fine one normally used for dessert couscous) and it really tasted wrong. The sauce itself wasn’t that savory either. I haven’t been there in a long while but I remember the food was quite good. I hope it s just a one off.
Hi Amber Thank you for your feedback. I had a quick chat with our kitchen and they explained that the semolina thickness is different from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia and even in each country from one region to another, but we've also been using the same coucous for the last 22 years. We have been using the fine one as we believe it is the best way to taste the couscous. Kind regards D.
Beautiful and perfect service .
Great!! Music and moroccan food is very nice .
Friendly place .
Hassan, Thank you for your lovely comments. We're happy you enjoyed your time at Momo. Please do come back soon. Kind regards Team Momo
First visit to this restaurant, which we were apprehensive about being vegetarian - but made very welcome by all staff and felt comfortable straight away. There are a number of vegetarian options for starters and a few for mains which was great as we ordered different food and could taste each others (we often have to order the same thing as there is no real choice). Service was very very good, ever present but not in your face which is often difficult to achieve. We opted for cocktails over wine, which were very good and we finished with mint tea which was so much nicer than I thought it would be - if you're going, get it, you won't be disappointed. Food came up quickly and the portion size was a little small but did mean that I could have 3 courses as I'm often too full to have a dessert. That said, I though dessert was the weakest course. I had carrot cake which I was expecting to be full of spices, but was a little bland. My husband had the pastries (similar to baklava) and they were amazing so get those. All in all a good night. Not cheap, but then nothing is in London. We both enjoyed the meal and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Especially as I know that there are other dishes we can try!
Hi Sara Thank you for your review. We're happy you enjoyed your time at Momo. We'll share your feedback with our team. Kind regards Team Momo
Friendly but tardy service - we weren't offered drinks for simply ages and had to ask for them in the end despite the restaurant not being full. I was told that the main course of the Lamb Tagine came with vegetables and then just as they were about to serve it they said the menu had changed and it no longer came with veg by which time it was too late to order anything else so I was just served a great hunk of meat with a small piece of pear ontop - the meat was succulent but the dish needed an accompaniment and had little spicing to it . The Couscous with the 3 meats dish was little better , the meats were all dry especially the chicken piece which was unpalatable . The starter of the chicken livers was OK and the the quail Pastilla was tasty but did not resemble an authentic pastille in any way . The desserts were the only dishes of any merit - the chocolate one and the lemon tart were outstanding . Finally the noise level was very high so it was difficult to hear ourselves talk despite the restaurant not being full. Altogether a very disappointing visit - we will not be going again.
Méchoui parfait, service chaleureux sans tomber dans le too-much.
Le renouveau de Momo est sans aucun doute un grand succès.
Merci beaucoup Anas!
They didn’t offer full menu, only offered tea
This is the most charming of restaurants, wonderfully warm service and delicious food. We had a wonderful meal.
Thank you for your feedback Val. We hope to see you soon. Kind regards D.
We were here for dinner on a Saturday evening.
The food was very good (especially the lamb shoulder for 2 ppl), we also loved the drinks, the only note is that the service - which was good - was quite slow (after the starters, we waited 50 mins for the mains).
Good overall, I would suggest it.
Laca, thank you for your comments. We'll feed this back to our team. Kind regards Team Momo
Outstanding place ! Unique atmosphere very professional staf
Thank you for your lovely comment Dalia!
I went to momo quite few times , I used to love that place because it is the only presentable North African place that I know in London. That s where I take my European friends to introduce to them our cuisine ( I m from Algeria) ... this is the first time i decided to spend ramadan in London, and I was counting on breaking my fast most of the time chez momo , since my fiancée works hard and she lives in another City , I only see her the weekends and therefore I will not be cooking ....anyway , yesterday was second time breaking my fast there and I took my fiancée with me this time , and the experience was awfully horrible ! As much as I enjoy the food and the ambiance there , the service made me decide to never put my feet there again . We fasted all day , and we booked a table at 8:30 which is 10mn before iftar , once there , we waited until 9:10 to have a waiter , not even water , milk or dates on the table . We have asked 3 times , kept trying to get attention nothing ... at some point it was literally frustrating Almost disrespectful ! We felt like we were begging for food ! It was so bad , imagine waiting for 40mn then they bring to you two dates and one glass of milk ! And the service went that way during the whole thing , we needed a second bottle of water and we had to ask 3 times, I asked for some more milk and have been told that it meant to be one glass each !! it’s shameful ! Not only they should have felt sorry for the wait and the fact they only brought one glass of milk for two people , but most importantly , i m paying for this meal , and I eat whatever and however my money allows , we not begging ! We had the ramadan menu , and we spent 2 hours there just for starter and main , and we had to give up on dessert and tea because it took so long and we hated the place ...honestly just thinking about the experience we had makes me frustrated ! Literally made me decided to not eat out for Ramadan anymore ! The bill was £150 .
Hi there I hope you are well. We're sorry your food took so long and that our usual callibre of service was not on display that evening. I will send your feedback to our team to prevent this from happening again. I have also sent you a private message. Please get back to me when you can. Kind regards Team Momo
I love MOMO. It’s long been a favourite, albeit I hadn’t been for some years. They’re not quite there yet with the new staff but it’s a fantastic venue & the food is terrific. We ate vegetarian & it was delicious.
Thank you for your comments Richard. We're happy you enjoyed yourself and we'll share your feedback in relation to service with our team. Kind regards Team Momo
Nice place with cool decor, would be nice for a date maybe, the atmosphere feels good. The menu is a bit meh but the food is quite good.
Thank you Soledadl for your positive feedback! Hope to see you again. Kind regards Team Momo
We arrived seven minutes early, table not ready . We stood around for twenty minutes . During this time at the entrance we stood inside as the night was cold . At one point we ( four diners ) were asked to wait outside in the cold . We declined , Food good , service chaotic, slow and several dishes not what we ordered . Bill included several items incorrectly .
Could be a great dining experience but the staff need much better training .
Hi RobertW I hope you are well. We're sorry your experience was so disappointing. Your feedback is important to us, I will pass this on to the restaurant team. Kind regards Team Momo
Excellent venue with superb staff and outstanding food. A little cramped, so if you're over 6 feet its a struggle to sit comfortably for too long!
Not only the service and atmosphere is outstanding, but the quality of the food is incredible. The must has is the momo’s couscous, and a traditionnal mint it.
The waiters were so warm and kind and they value feedback and the quality of the overall experience.
Hi Antho Thank you for your lovely feedback. We hope to host you again soon! Kind regards D.
We had an amazing time at Momo. Tea, the food, and the service was all excellent.
Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Don’t miss out!
Thank you Susanne! We love to hear such stellar feedback. We hope to welcome you again soon! Kind regards Team Momo
Excellent food that never disappoints!
Thank you for your kind words! Kind regards Team Momo
Excellent food, friendly staff but bit over rated price.
Thank you for choosing to dine with us, Nasser. We hope to welcome you again soon. Kind regards Team Momo
So excited for Momo bc of the different style of Afternoon Tea and the interior looked lovely in pictures. It was a bit awkward at first bc we were the only ones there for lunch. There were a handful of waiters and had to ask a few times for refills on tea and food but towards the end they seemed to catch on better. The food was delicious, and the tea was just phenomenal, but the service could be much better.
Lovely atmosphere and great food, any criticism would be that the waiting staff were not that attentive and we had to wait for ages between being given the pudding menu and them actually taking an order. We had been told at booking that we only had a two hour slot so this made us a little tense. However, it became clear that there was no rush so we just went with the flow and had a relaxing meal.
Not what it used to be ! They renovated and it’s a totally different vibe. Deco is not as nice. The tables are so close to each other, you’re basically eating with your neighbors. Food was ok, although the lemon chicken didn’t taste like lemon at all. And they’ve removed he famous chicken tajine from the menu. Tea pots have disappeared and you’re now limited to one mint tea glass! We used to often come to Momo, and this was our last.
Haven't been for a long time and chose to check it out after it recently refurbed. Super friendly staff making it enjoyable. Food great too. Staff celebrating a team member's birthday late on and invited the remaining guests to join.
This was my first time at Momo, the food was delicious.
Service by Paul was outstanding. He knew just when to be there and when to leave us be.
Great way to spend an evening
The tables are a bit too tightly packed, service OK but not great. Food very good, no complaints there.
Hi Alex We are sorry your experience, in regards to service, was disappointing. We've also just relaunched so the table layout is fairly new. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. Kind regards Team Momo
For the price, Momo was disappointing. Some dishes were better than others but generally the flavours and dishes didn’t blow me away.
I booked an afternoon tea as a surprise for my mum for Mother’s Day. I was expecting it to be amazing due to it being in Mayfair and from how beautiful the photos of the interior were.
The food in all fairness was delicious and so was the Moroccan tea that we had. However the entire trip was ruined by the service we received and I know that my mum had an awful time considering it was meant to be Mother’s Day.
When we sat down, no one explained how the afternoon tea menu worked and we were left for about 15 minutes before anyone even came over. We waited for about 45 minutes for any food to be bought over and when it was, we then waited for ages to have any plates cleared away. I had to ask twice for our next course to be bought over to us and twice for the bill to be bought over.
Loads of the guests were in the same situation as us and whenever we looked around there were people with empty plates or just waiting for service. We were there for around 3 hours for an afternoon tea. The staff were also hostile to each other And even argued on the restaurant floor which I think is so unprofessional. The whole experience felt managed badly and the staff didn’t seem happy.
This is the first time in my life that I asked for a service charge to be removed from the bill, as after working as a waitress myself, I hate to do this. So disappointing, ruined the Mother’s Day that I wanted to give my mum, and not worth the £64 I had to pay for this awful experience.
Hi there We are sorry your experience was so disappointing. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. Kind regards Team Momo
I had a great evening, the food was so good and authentic. Really recommend the lamb shoulder and the seabram and the chicken! Thought the staff were so nice and attentive and despite reading other reviews on here I didn't find the noise level to be unbearable but more like a normal buzzy evening out in London.
Every thing is amazing
I love the stuff and the food and the music
This was a very disappointing dining experience. As a fan of the old Momo's, I was excited to revisit but its just another high priced West End restaurant with little atmosphere, average food and inexperienced staff
Hi Nancy We are sorry your experience was disappointing. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. We do hope you will come to visit us again soon. Kindest regards Team Momo
I found out about Momo restaurant through watching an old episode of the hairy bikers, but couldn't go immediately as the restaurant was under refurbishment. I am so pleased I have now experienced the restaurant. The food was delicious, the decor is wonderful and the people are very helpful and super friendly. It is the best place for lamb and mint tea!! Thank you.
