Excellent food, friendly staff but bit over rated price.
So excited for Momo bc of the different style of Afternoon Tea and the interior looked lovely in pictures. It was a bit awkward at first bc we were the only ones there for lunch. There were a handful of waiters and had to ask a few times for refills on tea and food but towards the end they seemed to catch on better. The food was delicious, and the tea was just phenomenal, but the service could be much better.
Lovely atmosphere and great food, any criticism would be that the waiting staff were not that attentive and we had to wait for ages between being given the pudding menu and them actually taking an order. We had been told at booking that we only had a two hour slot so this made us a little tense. However, it became clear that there was no rush so we just went with the flow and had a relaxing meal.
Not what it used to be ! They renovated and it’s a totally different vibe. Deco is not as nice. The tables are so close to each other, you’re basically eating with your neighbors. Food was ok, although the lemon chicken didn’t taste like lemon at all. And they’ve removed he famous chicken tajine from the menu. Tea pots have disappeared and you’re now limited to one mint tea glass! We used to often come to Momo, and this was our last.
Haven't been for a long time and chose to check it out after it recently refurbed. Super friendly staff making it enjoyable. Food great too. Staff celebrating a team member's birthday late on and invited the remaining guests to join.
This was my first time at Momo, the food was delicious.
Service by Paul was outstanding. He knew just when to be there and when to leave us be.
Great way to spend an evening
The tables are a bit too tightly packed, service OK but not great. Food very good, no complaints there.
Hi Alex We are sorry your experience, in regards to service, was disappointing. We've also just relaunched so the table layout is fairly new. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. Kind regards Team Momo
For the price, Momo was disappointing. Some dishes were better than others but generally the flavours and dishes didn’t blow me away.
I booked an afternoon tea as a surprise for my mum for Mother’s Day. I was expecting it to be amazing due to it being in Mayfair and from how beautiful the photos of the interior were.
The food in all fairness was delicious and so was the Moroccan tea that we had. However the entire trip was ruined by the service we received and I know that my mum had an awful time considering it was meant to be Mother’s Day.
When we sat down, no one explained how the afternoon tea menu worked and we were left for about 15 minutes before anyone even came over. We waited for about 45 minutes for any food to be bought over and when it was, we then waited for ages to have any plates cleared away. I had to ask twice for our next course to be bought over to us and twice for the bill to be bought over.
Loads of the guests were in the same situation as us and whenever we looked around there were people with empty plates or just waiting for service. We were there for around 3 hours for an afternoon tea. The staff were also hostile to each other And even argued on the restaurant floor which I think is so unprofessional. The whole experience felt managed badly and the staff didn’t seem happy.
This is the first time in my life that I asked for a service charge to be removed from the bill, as after working as a waitress myself, I hate to do this. So disappointing, ruined the Mother’s Day that I wanted to give my mum, and not worth the £64 I had to pay for this awful experience.
Hi there We are sorry your experience was so disappointing. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. Kind regards Team Momo
I had a great evening, the food was so good and authentic. Really recommend the lamb shoulder and the seabram and the chicken! Thought the staff were so nice and attentive and despite reading other reviews on here I didn't find the noise level to be unbearable but more like a normal buzzy evening out in London.
Every thing is amazing
I love the stuff and the food and the music
This was a very disappointing dining experience. As a fan of the old Momo's, I was excited to revisit but its just another high priced West End restaurant with little atmosphere, average food and inexperienced staff
Hi Nancy We are sorry your experience was disappointing. Your comments are valued and will be passed on to the team. We do hope you will come to visit us again soon. Kindest regards Team Momo
I found out about Momo restaurant through watching an old episode of the hairy bikers, but couldn't go immediately as the restaurant was under refurbishment. I am so pleased I have now experienced the restaurant. The food was delicious, the decor is wonderful and the people are very helpful and super friendly. It is the best place for lamb and mint tea!! Thank you.
We have enjoyed Momo every single time we have visited. We find the food extremely good and the service impeccable. We had a wonderful gift having a chance to meet the owner who is an incredibly charming man and an extraordinarily gracious host. It made for an amazing Sunday for us!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner with attentive service and lovely ambience!
It was a soft launch, however we were routinely forgotten by the staff there. We had mentioned it so many times, they still didn’t think to rectify it whilst we were there.
The menu sounds great, but the food that arrives is confused.
An amazing brunch with absolutely impeccable service. Can’t wait to go back again.
Food was excellent! Problem was with wine they couldn’t find and we had to it starters without receiving our wine!
However they were very professional and they offered us starters and wine.
But it was only reopening so I guess... were not ready yet.
Food is amazing!
I was only disappointed because I had to have afternoon tea at that time, which was not clear on this site when I booked. So I couldn’t have any of my favourite Moroccan food. All cakes and sandwiches.
It was delicious and i love the food , also dont forget the amazing service , they always clean every single bit on the table . It was an amazing experience!!!
Great place! Very traditional and cosy! It feels like Morocco! I love it!
Super good. We love Momo. Our first as a family tho, kids now love it too! Not cheap but the best Moroccan in town for sure.
A great experience to a one of a kind Moroccan cuisine.
We loved the restaurant, amazing food & lovely atmosphere, we were just a little disappointed, that even after several phone calls, organising a special dessert for my vegan daughter's birthday & being assured that they would create something, they didn't. Not only that, when another customer ordered a birthday cake from the menu, there was a lot of singing & dancing from the waiters, which made my daughter's candle in a fruit salad seem pretty pathetic.
Unbelievably slow and loud
Lovely restaurant hidden away from the craziness on Regent and Oxford street.
Perfect for a romantic evening! Food and service was just wondeful.
Lovely dinner full of ambiance and the food was excellent as was the service - will return
The chef changed chef and although menu has remained largely the same, I feel the new twists and presentation style haven’t necessarily improved the experience. Prefer the old approach, felt more genuine rather than trying to over-manicure the preservation. I think the portions are smaller (though still adequate).
The service was excellent and the food, not bad. The noise level was terrific, though...
Momo has always been consistently our #1 London restaurant. The food is creative and incredibly delicious, with superlative table side service, in a exotic atmosphere.
Loved the atmosphere and the staff were great and very welcoming. The food was amazing. Would defo go again.
Been to momo a few times ! The service has improved so much which is great to see
Great food, service and vibes ! A bit overpriced though
But will def go back again :-)
Super restaurant il faut y aller
Le couscous est délicieux; décor magnifique serveur au top
Excellent ethnic food in a cosy street off Regent Street.
Really underwhelming experience. Service was slack, had to wait 30 minutes for the bill after repeatedly asking and the meal was, frankly, dull.
Staff were continually asking if we wanted to order drinks, food, desserts, coffee and is everything OK etc etc etc but when it came to bringing the bill that took 10mins. Mezze for 2 was good. Beef tagine was burnt and over 50%fat. The beef was sent back and the staff were kind to offer something else and the lentil soup that replaced the beef was delicious. Vegetable tagine was only sliced carrots with a few edemame beans, tsp of passion fruit and 1/2 tbsp of more carrots but this time pureéd, it was tasteless except for the passion fruit which I could have bought myself and opened to experience the taste. The meat cous cous dish was large and OK with the one sausage being the best bit.
The music was so loud and penetrating we had to ask for it to be turned down but still found us shouting at each other. The music was fine at the beginning of the night but was turned up as the restaurant emptied which is just a terrible experience for customers who are still in the restaurant. Drinks (2 cocktails and bottle of Italian red) were fine, rose tea was very tasty and probably the best thing that we ordered.
Total price £197 for very loud, below average food and service that was continually interrupting our evening was not value for money. I'm so glad I was with good friends as they were the only thing that made the evening good.
If anyone asks me about Momo, I'll say stay away, far away.
Good food and fantastic team. Helpful and friendly. Will be going back soon again.
Relatively over-priced middle-Eastern food of average quality. In spite of their website showing large Sunday menu, they only had a small selection, with little choice for children.
