Changing with the seasons, our menu starts with meat and potatoes and offers a range of other locally inspired dishes.
The dining room is an extension of the hearth— a warm retreat that brings the outdoors in. Inspiration comes from Executive Chef Paula Navarrete’s childhood in Colombia, spent around the grill, combined with her passion for Canadian produce.
Overall, not impressed given the reputation of the restaurant. Strange entrance (walking through the prep area for the first floor), seafood platter was mid-grade at best (mushy crab and shrimp), had to ask for sauce for the dozen oysters, asparagus needed salt ... now, the Titi's mash potatoes were some of the best I've had anywhere. Not likely to go back given the quality vs cost. Cornflake cookie from Milk Bar was the best part of the meal.
Great food and fantastic service. Staff was helpful without being obnoxious
Fine, but maybe a bit hyped. Pleasant, but attentive service. Nice interior.
Great steak and flatbreads!
I would recommend to a friend but only to someone who dines out regularly. The menu is unusual and needs to be explained. Our waiter did not do that so we did not order correctly. Many or most of the dishes are meant to be shared which is not obvious. The cornbread appetizer needs to be ordered in several different varieties and shared. Don't order the sardine one, it is a can of sardines, a disappointment when there are so many good sardines available. The main courses feature and emphasize steaks making one think this is really a steakhouse. The steaks can be easily shared as they are sliced. The single fish was an excellent turbot. We had souffles for desert, well done though more sauce needed which they quickly provided. The wine list by the glass is weak featuring undistinguished wines.
Wonderful, unique dishes and flavours. Plates great for sharing. Servers helpful and thoughtful never missing a beat. Thoroughly enjoy this dining experience!
Pre ballet in Toronto. Very nice but not cheap location for ballet is amazing
Had a great time. Would come back for sure.
Outstanding venue and service, and the food was amazing. What a place to watch the Raptors parade from. 10 out of 10!
Excellent overall. Cory (I think) waited on me. Outstanding service!
Momofuku Kojin lived up to my expectations in every way. Loved sitting at the chefs counter and interacting with Daniel and watching him prepare various dishes with skill and passion. The steak was melt in your mouth quality. Every morsel of food we ate was delicious.
These are the dining experiences that I treasure when I travel.
Food was average, nothing spectacular about it. A little overrated
Unfortunately I was disappointed with this restaurant. The ambiance was great, we had window seats too but the food was not worth it. Steak was disappointing and the best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes. Not exactly what I came there for.
Wonderful meal - space is beautiful, service was outstanding (Aaron took great care of us and made excellent menu suggestions; sommelier was on point), and food was amazing! Still dreaming about the corn cakes with honey butter, steak, Tita mash, fish lemon butter sauce and the cobbler...
Amazing food and service as always. Will be back soon!
El lugar es simple y agradable. Mi cena no fue espectacular pero aceptable. La experiencia en el servicio muy buena.
Burger is a must! Incredible!!
Server was very attentive, friendly and informative!
All the food was awesome!
We sat for over 20 minutes before our dinner order was even taken. Food took over an hour despite others around us receiving dishes. The server kept apologizing yet nothing got better and our drinks were often left empty as we tried to find our server. The courses were so poorly timed we were feeling full by the time our main course finally arrived. 3 hours for dinner for 2 people while always wondering where our food or drink is seems a bit unnecessary. Despite the apologies from the server and our clear dissatisfaction nothing was amended on our bill. I was embarrassed as it was my husband's birthday and the experience was terrible.
Absolutely incredible, from the food to the service. Favourite place in the city!
Sit at the chefs counter and drool. It's totally worth it!
We sat at the bar, had great bar service. Appetizers were tasty but came very quickly and all at once. We felt very rushed, had to hold back our mains. Sausages were creative but best appetizer was the prosciutto & copa. Ribeye was tasty but a bit undercooked. Overall great atmosphere!
We had our anniversary dinner at Momofuku and was very happy with the food. The side dishes were delicious. My husband didn't like the taste of the wet aging on the butcher's steak but otherwise it is quite nice. They were very attentive and brought us a sorbet for our celebration.
Over promises and under delivers.
As discerning world wide travellers, it was apparent that the restaurant was trading on its name as opposed to the quality and Calibre. Food was generally lacking in flavour and completely forgettable.
Our constructive criticism would be to send your team round the corner to Richmond Station Restaurant, a short walk away, to learn how great food should taste.
Service was delightful but overall, a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons.
Much ado about nothing !
Tasteless expensive cuisine experience.
Giovanna was one of the loveliest, professional servers. Made me feel welcome as a solo diner. She guided me on the right choices to not order too much.
A fantastic and thoughtful restaurant.
Great for dining for fun or on a work trip.
It was at least the 6th time we were there, this is the worst experience. It was about 30% full ( NBA final game night), it was very quiet. The maître D was less then courteous, we requested window seating but not until half way through our dinner and our third request, he finally transferred us to a window table, at that time, the main dining area have only 3 tables occupied including us!
The service was good, waiters were very nice and helpful. The food was OK, but less then ideal, the wrought iron sizzling rice was just Luke warm not to say it supposed to be sizzling. The two soufflé we ordered were unsuccessful, but the waiter brought them to us and offer to take them off our bill. I think since it was a quiet night, they only have a skeleton staffs in the restaurant and the food was subpar. We ordered the corn flatbread with Drew’s grass fed Butter for $10.00, but now they start charging you for the flat bread at $3.00/slice. So we have a total of 4 flatbread for the cost of $6.00 plus $10.00 for the Drew’s Butter.
To summarize, this is not the proper way to runaway first class restaurant, you need to keep up the high standard every night and even so on a slow night. I don’t think Ms. Paula Navarrete will be happy with my comments. But if you take them seriously, Momofuku Kojin will be a better restaurant among a very competitive downtown culinary experience.
The food was so delicious and the service was excellent. I’ll definitely be back again soon!
It was our first time at Kōjin. We are regulars at this location.
The food was fantastic. Some of the best steak and seafood I’ve had!
It was a really fun night.
We’d like to know more about ‘large format’ meals. We were thinking of organizing a dinner for 8-10 friends/colleagues
The restaurant is beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. However, our server convinced us to order things that we were never told how much it was, and we were quite surprised to find out once the bill came. Steaks on the menu ranged from $77 - $120+, but the one he convinced my partner to get ended up being $165! It was incredible, of course, but I wish I had known before we agreed to it. If you’re okay with spending $$$ on a meal, then this is a great place. But don’t be surprised when your bill ends up being over $350+ for two people, especially if you’re a couple of foodies.
Cuisine, service and ambiance all impeccable. Highly recommend.
I felt that the cost of the meal did not justify the quality.
Food was awful. S Brice was less than mediocre. Really hoping this was a one off. But I won’t be going back or recommending...
We had an excellent time at Momofuko over Memorial Day weekend. We sat at the Chef's table/bar? and it was quite warm at first in front of the wood fired grill, but we got used to it quickly and were not uncomfortable. We enjoyed watching the food prep and the little extras to try. Our waiter was very helpful, attentive and funny. It pleasantly exceeded my expectations.
Le restaurant est un savant mélange entre savoir-faire culinaire japonais et grillades. Les cocktails sont originaux, la viande excellente. Je ne regrette qu’une chose : que l’entrée et le plat aient été trop copieux pour pouvoir prendre un dessert.
Unfortunately did not live up to reviews I'd read. Steaks arrived cooked medium rare instead of the requested medium and other side dishes left on table so were cold by the time properly cooked steaks arrived back at table. One steak was then overcooked and neither steak near the quality of other high end steak houses. Mashed potatoes were amazing (highlight of the meal) but rest of sides (flatbread/ham starter, fries, onion rings, asparagus, mushrooms) were just ok. Nothing was done to celebrate birthday although note was made and voice mail messages were exchanged with restaurant in lead up to dinner.
Amazing experience. It was our first visit and it was a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. Our server Amanda was incredible. As well as the rest of the service team. The food was exceptional as well. We will be back, and are looking forward to our next visit!
It was our first choice to celebrate our 10th anniversary we really enjoy the quality of service and overall experience of kojin
