great french restaurant, will come back. great ambiance, was at brunch will come back to see the show.
Pricey but good food. Beef tartare appetizer was delicious. Could skip sides.
Friendly service, great food and drinks!
Service was very slow for our table, but I don't think other parties experienced this, given that those sat after us left well before us. We also came for the entertainment, which featured a tableside magician. The magician made his way around the room, stopping at some tables twice, but never ours. The food was amazing, but the overall experience was a little disappointing.
I think the big draw is the entertainment. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't anything special but sounds like weekends are more exciting. Food was pretty good but again nothing special at that price point. I'm willing to give it another shot on a weekend night but I definitely left feeling like it was extremely overpriced for what it was.
Fun environment with great steaks and specialty cocktails.
Wonderful experience. Food was great. Really great entertainment.
Food was good but way overpriced. The ambiance was amazing, that's what you're really paying for. Biggest complaint was slow drink service... not sure if it was the bar or our waiter, but our first drinks came out when we were almost done our food... we had to ask 3 times.
Great experience overall. Highly recommend starting with the tableside beef tartare app!
The service and entertainment were great! We had a great experience and can’t wait to return.
we went for variety and every single dish was a WOW! My wife and I consider ourselves foodies and the sea beans meal was maybe the best of my life.
We went on a weekday for special event ( birthday) Food was amazing- stake tartare, rib cap and duck. Would recommend all. Service was attentive. Nice to have an option of live music on a weekday. Would recommend if looking for something unique to experience
This was a memorable evening... we chose to visit on Monday, knowing that the restaurant would be quiet with a caberet singer. The performer was lovely, playing old time classics on piano with a beautiful voice.
When Emily, our server came over to introduce herself, I told my husband, "We are blessed, this lady here has a bunch of 5-star reviews on Open Table and she is amazing!" Well, here is another 5-star rating for Emily. She knows the menu exceptionally well and helped us plan the most amazing dinner with cocktails, appetizers and tremendously good entrees and sides. We are so glad that we selected this restaurant over the others on our "short list" for the last night of our trip. You will not be disappointed in the food or atmosphere of this Baltimore gem!
Very friendly and great ambience. Now let's cut to the chase...THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE!!!!!!!!! We ordered the Dry aged ribe eye and the duck fries. It was amazing and our waitress, Emily was perfect and very personable. I highly recommend a visit for the french cuisine and the atmosphere.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary at this fabulous restaurant.
A little to dark when trying to order. Even the table next to me used light from their phones. I was disappointed there wasn't a show. Gotta go back on a weekend d
Our Server was amazing - I'm sorry I didn't get his name.
Great! Wonderful atmosphere
It was so nice food was good. I didn't love the Dj no variety and we were irritated with all that thumping techno. But the waiter was a sweetie. The food was amazing. It was cold in the restaurant but I will be back!! Amazing dining experience
Great food, great atmosphere and it was so fun to have a show with dinner! Well definitely be going back!
Service was EXCELLENT!!! We’ll definitely be back!
One of our favorite dinners ever.
Wonderful experience all around.
First time dining at Monarque. Excellent service, food, drinks and entertainment. Highly recommend visiting.
We had a wonderful evening ! The food came fast and was so delicious ! The decor is beautiful and interesting. The service was friendly and welcoming. It was so much fun, the dancers were so cool, and very talented. I can't wait to come back for an occasion. I've been talking about it to so many friends ! 😁
We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary before our trip next week, and it was a great evening.
The food was excellent and Emily was a stellar server. We will be back.
We were excited to try this place out because it reminded us about our Moulin Rouge experience in Paris. The food was delicious (escargot and foie gras - yummmmmmm) and the cocktails were fun and good. The music was super loud - I wish they could turn it down a little so you could conversate with others. The dancers and gymnast were energetic and kept our interest. They are very talented and their costumes are beutiful.
Would highly recommend for a unique date night. Things they could improve - the strawberry shortcake dessert was disappointing and I wish they had more shows, e.g. a singer on the lovely stage and maybe a variety act.
Monarque is everything a restaurant should be. I can only hope they see a return on what is obviously a huge investment. If I remember correctly, they opened right after the pandemic was building up steam and I wondered then if they would be able to weather the ~storm~. Meticulous décor, wonderful food, comfortable seating, pleasing staff and a nearby parking garage were all pluses. This was my second time... first for dinner this time for brunch. My only disappointment was a scheduled show got shifted to the evening rather than during brunch hours as posted on their website. Our server was very apologetic and said it was a last minute issue. I will definitely go back and highly recommend. *Also, you must see the bar. It goes on for miles...
Simply the BEST in Baltimore!!! 🙌❤️🙌
A fun night out with girlfriends! We were not disappointed and will definitely go back again.
We were excited about the chance to eat at Monarque (or anywhere after over a year in COVID lockdown). In that context, we certainly enjoyed our experience. But...while the food was very good, I can't say my steak was at the level of the price ($60). No wine list was offered, wine by the glass was served with no explanation of which was which, and our server was somewhat inattentive (did not check back to see if our entrees were satisfactory, etc.). The noise level made conversation almost impossible (even in-between acts). Speaking of acts, the entertainment was mainly two women and a guy dancing around to taped music. Not terrible, but more reminiscent of a cruise ship than a high-end nightclub. One other performer that used rings in a sort of acrobatic act was very good, much more what I was expecting. Rather than the dancers and taped music, I would have preferred listening to Nina Simone or similar. Our table was directly in front of the stage and about one foot away, so while we had a great view, it was almost too close. All in all, we could see what was being tried for (Parisian cabaret) and it was/is a nice idea. But Monarque fails the ultimate test which is, given everything (food, ambiance, price, service, and their case entertainment), would we return? “Malheureusement, non…”
Fun nite! My date had the filet with crab Oscar and it was a bit salty but overall the food was very good. I had the duck entree and it was superb. The butternut tart appetizer was very yummy and unique (haven’t had a tart appetizer like this before). My date had a salad which was crisp and fresh. Surprisingly the portions were quite sizable, I guess that’s what distinguishes a French steakhouse from your typical French restaurant. The cocktails were to die for! Both were potent and tasty I had “le vie on rose’, a wonderful vodka cocktail and my date had the “coup de grace” which he said was good. The true coup de grace was the entertainment, tasteful French burlesque. A variety of adult acts that included dancing, acrobatics, stilt walking and lively music. A perfect place to take friends visiting from out of town. Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes and cocktails!
9th year wedding anniversary
It was great customer service was amazing
I decided to take my mom for Mother’s Day. I made a reservation two days ahead of time and when I made the reservation nothing was said about entertainment and performances not going on that night. The food was delicious but needless to say we were absolutely disappointed with the lack of entertainment which is the highlight of the restaurant in the first place. It was said nowhere that the entertainment would only be during brunch hours that morning and nothing at night.
The service (including knowledgeable staff) was exceptional - from the bartender to the waiter, Steve and the chef (who was very concerned about my gluten issues). It won’t be something we do frequently, but I highly recommend Monarque for an amazing meal!!!!
Phenomenal atmosphere, food, and service Will definitely be back!
Absolutely beautiful and our food was delicious.... definitely coming back....
Enjoyed Mother’s Day brunch. Great food, interesting beverage menu, excellent live jazz trio, exceptional service!
It was a really nice time and my girlfriend really enjoyed the atmosphere
The BEST dinning‘experience’ in Baltimore from exquisite food, beautiful ambience and entertainment!
