   I think we were unfortunate, as this is a lovely hotel in a great location, but we were disappointed with our visit. Hopefully for them we were just unlucky. The service was good and attentive and the layout of the restaurant and the view were lovely, but the food really let the whole thing down. My daughter and I eat out a lot, but we were very disappointed with the small choice on the menu, and the composition of the dishes. An example was that my octopus starter and my daughter's chicken main dish had the same sauce! Imagine if one of us had chosen that combination - to be honest I would have sent the main course back. The cost of the dishes was very high, for what we felt was nondescript food - obviously the hotel is charging more than it should do because of the lack of custom over the last year or so. We decided not to have a pudding as we knew the bill would be astronomical. Allowing for the fact that we had a glass of rose fizz to start with (but no other alcohol) we felt that the bill of almost £150 for the two of us was well overpriced, in our experience. It was a real shame... but unfortunately we won't be coming again.

   This place is the hidden gem of Bray (Forget The Fat Duck and the Waterside Inn which are both overrated and overpriced) and seems to enjoying staying anonymous as you never see it advertised or promoted on the usual social media platforms. Monkey Island has to be one of the most unique settings situated on its own island in the middle of the River Thames yet accessible to junction 8/9 of the M4 within 10 minutes. The bar and grill

   ent for dinner to this beautiful place and we are so impressed with everything! Food was so so so delicious , thanks to the chef 👨‍🍳 Service top 👌🏻 Very knowledgeable about food and wine 🍷 very friendly and polite stuff . Been to so many places but this was the best ! Thanks a lot for such a lovely atmosphere ❤️

    Food was delicious for a Sunday lunch. The only complaint was the air conditioning was unnecessarily on a it was chilly. Would return though :) All your staff were very good (discreet) and helpful. Thank you

    Peaceful surroundings with a relaxing view, topped with gorgeous food. Smoked Haddock or Smoked Trout for us. Starters of Salmon and Prawn cocktail Finished with Chocolate Mousse and Creme Brulee A wonderful anniversary lunch for us both

    We looked at the online menu and were excited for foie gras, ox cheek, and spiced cod. None were on offer. So many very simple salad dishes, beetroot salad, tomato salad, aubergine dish, Caesar salad etc, very poor. My daughter only had a starter of smoked salmon, there was nothing else for her. The Cambridge burnt cream was the best ever though. The passion fruit colada cocktail was amazing and the building is stunning.

    The place is iconic and gorgeous. The bar was busy and the staff while friendly were extremely busy. I was unfortunately disappointed with the food. The menu was very limited. I had the tomato salad for an entree and the produce was extremely poor. There was no flavour in the tomato’s at all. It was described as a heirloom tomato salad and I literally had one slice. With other tomato’s placed it. If you can’t get good quality produce it is better to take off the menu. The main I had fish and it was cooked beautifully. It was a lovely dish. The others in my party had burgers which they all enjoyed. I do feel it’s important to mention the food is cooked well and the staff are very nice and friendly and do their utmost. You can certainly enjoy a lovely drink or two in a casual dining setting.

    A beautiful sunny day made this an unparalleled location, enjoying views over the beautiful grounds and river. Wonderful service from genuinely friendly staff. Our afternoon tea itself was good: very good scones and cakes; the sandwiches though were a little overpowering with their flavours (in particular the beef and horseradish), which made it difficult to enjoy the flavours of the teas themselves. The manager was gracious with the feedback and hopefully a more delicate horseradish flavour will be worked on. A nice touch was the little birthday cake, very decoratively done. Looking forward to returning for an actual meal.

    Beautifully furnished. Overlooking the river. Spacious tabkes. Decent wine list. Could have been bigger choice on the food menu but the dishes we chose were excellent quality and well presented. Service was generally attentive..but of a delay in getting the bill.

    The food was amazing. The staff were so kind and helpful. The cocktails were amazing. We spent over 3hrs at the restaurant and had the best Sunday lunch in a long long time!

    Low key professional service made this a very pleasant experience. The menu selections are somewhat but the quality of the food and its presentation are excellent. We had a midweek lunch in the Brasserie which was very quiet and the waiter went out f his way to make sure that we were well looked after. A wobbly table was immediately stabilised and when we pointed out an ugly view from a side window he immediacy and without any fuss lowered the blinds so that we could not see it. Don't get the wrong idea the views from the Brasserie restaurant are stunning. Beware: When walking in the grounds do not go near the chicken one of them bit one guest and attacked two others! Not cheap but good value for money if you appreciate fine ding with a very good wine list and some at prices which are affordable.

    Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful setting for a balmy spring evening. Great choice of vegetarian options as well as meat, poultry and fish. The staff were courteous and friendly. Great choice of cocktails and mocktails, wine and spirits. The only shame is that we could not try the dessert as we were too full from our starters and main course. We will definitely be back again!

    Food and service were excellent.The only blot was that due to not enough staff we weren't able to order drinks outside before our lunch. We could get drinks and take them outside but then there were no cushions on the wrought iron furniture, which made it rather uncomfortable. After lunch we would have sat outside on the terrace again but for the above problem

    It was my husband’s 80th birthday and we all enjoyed the evening very much. The staff were very attentive, the food exceptional and it was a friendly place. The bought a profiterole out with a candle on it and plate was decorated in chocolate saying happy birthday. The decoration was exceptional in chocolate.
