Great restaurant in a fantastic location and the shared plates were delicious. Stan, our waiter, was exceptional and very attentive. Would definitely recommend there!
Went there with a friend. I got there first and was asked if I wanted a drink I asked for some tap water whilst I was waiting and I didn’t get it at all. We had to ask again when the food came. Then when we were done with the mains no one came to ask us if we wanted dessert, again we had to ask for a menu. When we ordered some drinks they came after the majority of the food, which i didn’t understand, surely it’s faster to make a drink than to cook lamb chops, ceviche and a salad?
The restaurant is nicely decorated, the food tasty. The service not what I expected for the place, waiters nice and friendly but not attentive. Also, £90 for two people with two drink shared a dessert and 4 dishes is expensive
Cannot recommend Monmouth Kitchen enough. The service was flawless from start to finish, such knowledgable staff who were perfectly attentive to our group. Each dish was so fresh and delicious, there was nothing we did not like! The menu is so varied and catered to every dietary requirement we had. Seriously impressed - a must visit.
Fantastic food, service and venue. The desserts are to die for!
Once again Monmouth Kitchen never failed to disappoint. I previously had dined there a few weeks ago for a friends birthday and I instantly fell in love, now I’m bringing everyone I know to this place and yesterday was mum LOL. The whole concept, atmosphere and value for money is just amazing you cannot go wrong. Can’t wait to keep returning !! Xo
Sidenote: I only took 3 photos cause I was too busy eating everything 🤣😂 sorry not sorry
Fantastic evening with friends; great food and wonderful staff!
The portions are very small, especially the tacos are way too small. Not worth the money.
Great tasting food, looks good too. Plenty of variety.
A lovely pre-theatre meal - service was welcoming and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed and calm. The menu choice is perfect as was the quality of the food we were served. The staff were all attentive and very professional. Have already recommended the Monmouth Kitchen to friends! We will definitely be booking again.
Great food, great service. Strongly recommended.
Loved everything, will definitely come here again. Loved the tiniest tacos ever scallop ceviches.
Service was fantastic. This was booked for pre theatre. Our reservations were at 1800 but we were running extremely late (arrived at 1820) yet the table was still held for us considering how busy it was. We sampled most things off the a la carte menu.
The staff were attentive to our needs and all our food was served to us before 1900, so we were able to make our show with time to spare.
Another positive for the service was when we pointed out to the waiter that one of dishes had a small hair on it, they removed the dish from the table and bill as well as presenting us with a freshly cooked dish off the menu, on the house. Were it not for time, we would have accepted and eaten this.
My only criticism of the food was the tapas portion sizes were very small given the price. However, it tasted great, especially the tomato ceviche and robata aubergine.
Will definitely go again. I like the idea of mixing Italian and Peruvian cuisine on the menu.
We selected this restaurant out of a number in the area, as it seemed a bit different from the rest. We wanted a pre-theatre meal, as we had tickets for a local venue. The idea of Peruvian and Italian 'tapas' was intriguing. We enjoyed all the food, although we felt we had to order more than the 4 plates recommended by the waiter. Maybe we were too hungry for the type of food on offer!
The dishes are tiny don't believe me the price range
Great for dinner with friends or a date. Everything is made to share. All dishes I had were incredibly flavorful. Many vegetarian options. Still dreaming about the salad I had.
Delicious food and great service. On the pricey side but food is worth it!
This is our favourite restaurant in London by far. In fact it's our 'special place' we visit for occasions and for some alone time together as it's such a great dining experience and the food and drink are such a treat!
The Seabass Ceviche is to die for! VERY closely followed by the Spicy ‘nduja salami pizza. We also love the sliced beef tenderloin anticucho, it melts in your mouth, and the padrón peppers.
As you can tell we love the food (there aren't many places that I have experienced where you almost don't want to swallow as then its gone!), but the cocktails are good also (smoky tommy's for example), the staff are very attentive and happy to make recommendations, and even the bathrooms are a pleasant experience.
Highly recommend this place if you want a great food experience; whilst the portions are tapas style, you can go in hungry and come out very satisfied with about 3 dishes each.
Service was fantastic, would highly recommend. For sure made our experience really enjoyable.
Delicious food, great service. Sadly , noise levels very loud making co versatile quite difficult. We would return.
Two cultural foods I normally wouldn’t place together but worked nicely in complementing tastes. Everything was tasty but portions for Peruvian selections, very small. Tacos were mini sized, almost kid portions. Ravioli selection from Italian selection was two pieces so you had to order double portions so that in a group of four people, you each get one to taste. Nice restaurant to try, but did not feel like value for the money spent (£100+ with one glass of rose each).
Great food, excellent service but overpriced for what you got.
Highly recommend though.
Amazing meal! Chose Monmouth Kitchen for a birthday celebration and was definitely not disappointed, lovely food and great atmosphere on a Aaturday night. Would defo recommend!
Had a lovely meal , attentively served by Dimitris and Stan , the food was outstanding and we appreciated the recommendations made by Dimitris .
Here you get quality not quantity quite pricey but worth every penny .
Absolutely superb; from the food to the staff to the rest room! Faultless!
Had a great experience from the moment we arrived. Welcomed with a smile and shown to the table. DJ playing music and the vibe was amazing from the very beginning. Stan was our waiter for the evening and was really knowledgeable. Obviously the restaurant take the time to train their staff and allow them to taste the meals which is highly commendable and makes a huge difference to the dining experience. Stan explained the concept of the menu which is tapas style. The left hand side of the menu were Italian dishes and the right hand side were Peruvian. Stan answered any questions we had with deep knowledge of the dishes and recommended 2-3 dishes per person.
The food was outstanding. Small portions but huge taste and we left feeling pleasantly full and buzzing.
Had no space for dessert but since I had tagged the booking as a birthday for my partner they surprised her and me with a small platter with two bite size desserts and Happy Birthday piped onto the board with chocolate. A really nice touch.
I’d definitely recommend to others who like tapas meals packed with flavour.
Excellent service and food
A different kind of dining for pre-theatre diners. The waiter explained that dishes are fairly small and recommended ordering 3-4 different dishes. Set menu was very good value and included exciting recipes (grilled baby aubergine). We had 3 courses each, which were wonderfully presented. I would definitely come here again, if I ever find myself in central London. Ambience was fit for a 5-star restaurant.
Wonderful! Had the pre theatre option but observed some a la carte dishes which also looked delicious. We'll be back.
Excellent service. Peruvian dishes are absolutely delicious, but you may still be hungry at the end due to the smaller portions.
Service is the best in London
Excellent "small plate" food. Service was outstanding made to feel welcome and as if only people in the restaurant. Waiter was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about the food.
Good quality small plates, although a poor attempt at Peruvian food / not authentic.
Bonus points for using rocotto chilli
Monmouth kitchen is a beautiful restaurant in a nice location, the waiters are friendly but very slow in serving us a drink.
The food, whilst delicious ... was extremely tiny ... they recommended 2-3 plates per person ... we got 3 and a desert and I was still hungry. For the amount I paid with drinks working out to around £57 each, I wouldn't expect to still be hungry.
Even a portion of Olives is £5??? I think it's bordering insanity to charge the amount they do for their portions. Glad I went but slightly dissapointed that I had to eat again in the evening.
Four of us met up for a pre theatre supper on a Saturday. Do be aware that the preheater menu is not available on a Saturday!
We throughly enjoyed all of the small plates we ordered. The food is tasty and seems to be healthy and enjoyable.
One of the tastiest lunches I’ve had in London!
Smart, upmarket dimly lit restaurant inside hotel. Great service with friendly staff. Fish ceviche particularly good. I would say ££ price bracket if you used pre/post theatre offer (as per open tables guide of £25/head). If you order a la carte (they recommend 3-4 small plate each) + glass of wine actually works out around £50 per head.
Varied and comprehensive sharing menu with excellent quality food. Worked out about £50pp for a decent amount with wine.
Decor is clean and modern, and a large table to accommodate big groups. Staff are very friendly and offered good suggestions and advice.
Thoroughly recommend for a great social meal, which also accommodates veggies without losing out on variety or taste
Excellent small plates, we ordered 9 plates for 3 adults and a child. Beautiful food!
Great dining experience ! Lovely food and interiors.
The only thing is: I booked for lunch at the same day early in the morning. The place was completely empty when we have arrived(and there was only 5 table while we were leaving). However the waiter wanted to put us on the table at the very end and the darkest side of the restaurant so we kindly said that we would like to have possibly a better table with some daylight... I don’t understand why some waiters are doing this at some places. It’s like punishing people with the worst table because they have booked??! :)
The restaurant looked very smart and very welcoming. The menu looks very enticing with Peruvian and Italian cuisine as small plates. Although, some of the dishes were nice other dishes were very disappointing. In particular, the risotto was like tasteless wet rice. The portion sizes varied from one small dish to another. Where you could have a bowl of salad, fillet of fish, a spicy escalop of chicken or two mini tacos each the size of your little finger. As the dishes don't vary much in price the measurable difference in portion sizes makes them poor value for money. When paying the incredibly expensive bill, without questions I will add, the waiter came across with an attitude and was rude to one of my guests. Only because my guest wanted to settle his share of the bill with two payment methods. The waiter responded 'It's an unnecessary inconvenience!' Since when is it problem making split payment? It was certainly not the superior restaurant it appeared to be.
