Monsieur Le Duck
Our simple yet perfectly formed menu centres around duck that is being brought in to London especially for us, alongside classic French sides, desserts and wine.
The brainchild of three frequent travelers to Gascony, Monsieur Le Duck provides a portal to the French heartland of relaxed eating and drinking.
Honestly, the best plate of duck i’ve ever had. Found a little gem here!
Deliver's what it promises. Food served very swiftly so not a place you linger for long but that is made clear upon booking 1.5hr for table. Food was very good. Salad dressing was very punchy. Confit duck and lentils were great and hot... rather than 'just about hot but soon to be tepid' as you get in so many restaurants. Great value and friendly service. I'd definitely return when the need for duck grabs me.
Loved it. Edith Piaf is blasted at you as you consume duck in every way imaginable. The Grand Jeu is the star of the menu. It’s basically all the meat dishes together for two to share. The highlight is probably the confit leg, with the duck burger in a close second. The chips are perfect too.
If anything the drinks menu is a bit limited. There is only a single loo and I had a queue for it too.
I’m going back before it closes. I think it’s all over by the end of April they said. It’s only a pop up.
A nice idea, and a pleasant atmosphere with friendly service. It's good for 2 people to be able to eat something different for under £50 in Shoreditch -- but pretty well everything about the meal was underwhelming. A salad with hardly any flavour in the dressing. Decently cooked magret (though on the tiny side). Dry confit. Dry lentils too. Pale chips. And a carafe of poor wine. Good coffee though. I just wish it had been better cooking, because then we'd be raving about it and keen to go again.
The food was pretty good though the duck burger lacked seasoning and no salt and pepper on table. Confit and frites excellent.
We felt very rushed - everything arrived very quickly. I was hoping for a more authentic French style slower meal. Music excellent. Very French.
Had a lovely visit with great staff and service. Food was really enjoyable. Would definitely cone again and also recommend to friends.
Excellent meal and service! A lesson in the merits of simplicity, highlighting flavoursome high quality produce. Lovely atmosphere as well, hope to visit again!
Really enjoyable food and great service. Quite different to a regular restaurant experience as the menu is quite concise.. small menu big quality though!.. would recommend.
What a great idea! You can get so many things from one duck! I could’ve also added rillettes, but maybe I’m asking for too much. This place is wonderful, the tasting menu for two is quite filling, no need for dessert, although they are quite tempting too.
Amazing food, great service and I’d recommend the platter to share!
Delicious duck, fast and friendly service.
The cheese selection was excellent, and the cheese was in perfect condition.
We'll be back.
The food was stunning and the service fantastic - the explanations of each type of duck dish was informative especially as it was my first time. My only criticism is the speed at which we were moved through. I appreciate it’s a pop up and there’s limited space, but we were in and out a little too swiftly. Regardless I’ve recommended the restaurant to a lot of people!
I arrived 20 mins too early and they still seated me! The food was up there for one of the better restaurants in London for the price too! The service was great, everyone was friendly
Would 100% go back whenever I have a duck craving (:
Outstanding duck confit, with really excellent frites (and a lot of them!) and delicious garlicky green beans. Thinking about my meal is making me salivate.
Great food at a great price, but don't take any vegetarians! My friend and I went straight for Le Grand Jeu and were not disappointed as we received a hearty meal of salad, bread, duck four delicious ways and sides. The salad dressing was a little salty for my taste, but I tend not to add salt to things, so that's just my personal taste. The butter with duck fat was incredible. As expected, the confit was the star dish but this is not to malign the rest - the pan-fried duck was incredible as was the burger (moist, juicy, moreish). Thoroughly enjoyed the nutty lentils and homemade fries. Ambience is a bit odd as it's a new place and had few people in when we visited but I doubt this will be an issue for long. Will return.
Fantastic pop up. Simple limited menu but offers exactly what you came for!
Just had third visit and as good as ever. Staff, food all excellent. Hope it's here to stay
Set menu comes with a generous portion of salad and side dish of your choice. Great value! We prefer the confit leg then breast.
Everything was outstanding. My only comment would be on the wine list. Very short, pretty costy and did enjoy it much. I dont think the St Emilion and the chateau neuf was very good.
Also having a larger choice of beer would be great.
Food was meh.. okay.. nothing to shout about. Sharing taster for 2 but just felt like it wasn't enough food to justify the price paid. We were definitely still hungry, even after dessert!
They serve mostly wine, and one beer. No cocktails unfortunately due to lack of bar.
It's a small place, but I guess the ambience is nice for a chill catch up.
Loved it, quality food you need to visit here
Awesome duck and great staff. Also great, strong, French coffee
Was very excited for this meal but unfortunately wasn’t quite as good as I was expecting.
Salad that comes as a side comes about 15/20 minutes before fries and duck... it all not a starter though!
Duck was chewy and it was a very small portion.
Jus was OK... very watery.
Fries were lovely. Wine was great.
Creme brûlée perfect.
Service good although jus was forgotten and delivered when we had almost finished eating.
Overall felt pretty expensive seeing as it wasn’t that great. Won’t be back I’m afraid .
All the duck was delicious but I would recommend the duck confit and truffle fries most of all! The service was also great and you could tell the staff cared. Definitely coming back for more!
We ordered the meal for two to share. The confit duck was good but I presume all confit duck is good and not difficult to get right. The pan fried duck breast was on the dry side but the chargrilled breast was great. The duck burger was non-distinct. The breast were pre-sliced so cooled quickly, which there is not a lot you can do about but does affect the overall enjoyment of the meal. The meal as a whole was too dry; there is no sauce for anything (note there is a jus available at an additional cost) and the side of seasonal greens with lardons was a little flat. Possibly a creamed spinach would do better and add some moisture to the meal.
The menu is tiny but goodness it was worth it
Look at the name before you book, it specialises in DUCK.
I had a delicious salad beautifully presented, the magret of duck was cooked and presented to perfection. Great chips lovely venue fabulous interested staff.
One down side no citron presse.
Really enjoyed the visit, food was great. The restaurant was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
One of the best meals I've had in London for a long time
All the duck dishes were delicious, staff were fantastic, very good location.
Literally cannot fault the place and will most definitely be going back! Loved it
Very relaxed atmosphere here though service was on the ball. People seemed to be enjoying themselves without shrieking or using their phones. Food was great, the duck fat butter worth trying, not lardy as I thought it might be and the lentils I love 'em. And the creme brulee and the duck coffee. And........
Really good food, enjoyed the meal and service was really nice and friendly
We had the platter to try all the duck dishes, yum!!! Everything was amazing. A little on the salty side but delicious all the same :)
Delicious duck. We had the sharing menu which gave us a taster of all four types (breast is done two ways). Outstandingly juicy and delicious. Desserts were also excellent.
I had the duck confit which was delicious, as were the fries and the complimentary cocktail. This new restaurant needs to get more people through the door as there is no atmosphere when there's only 4 dining in the whole restaurant.
Really lovely duck and relaxed atmosphere
