Focusing on the food and wine of South West France; Monsieur Le Duck provides a portal to the heartland of relaxed eating and drinking. The menu is simple, with an emphasis on quality over quantity, using only the freshest ingredients to ensure excellence in every dish. Duck is the main player here and sits alongside traditional French recipes, with classics such as baked camembert, moules marinières, puy lentils and crème brûlée taking centre stage, alongside modern reinventions such as spinach and goat’s cheese croquettes, duck burger, duck wellington and a dark chocolate mousse with a twist. The ground floor mixes modern industrial chic with French-Gascon charm with a strong duck theme running throughout. There is a large central wrap around bar, with its own unique cocktail list. The design of the first floor has been influenced by Art Nouveau and the boudoir style of early 20th century Paris, with its own bar, a carefully curated wine list and a discerning cocktail selection.View Private Dining Details
Awesome food, such good value
Great service, lovely atmosphere and food. Would recommend
Really good service and meal
Duck four ways was plenty - with some frites and beans
A very friendly place to dine. I have been here several times before and it just keeps on getting better. I used to have the burger most times but now the pan fried magret is my fave but I love the green beans and lentils so much that I left out the frites. OK we may have ordered the salty bread with duck fat.... My friend had the chocolate mousse which was deliciously bitter and one could taste the armagnac. As non drinkers the barman came up with a couple of 'soft' cocktails to suit.
Absolutely superb. The restaurant is lovely, staff are friendly and the food is phenomenal, yet reasonably priced. Really great find!
Delicious food. Excellent cocktails prior to dinner and wonderful wine with dinner. Excellent and friendly service by staff..
Unbelievably good food - classically Gasconique - and warm and generous service. Can’t wait to return!
2nd time here, this time trying the TimeOut brunch and once again it did not disappoint.
the food here is really good quality !!! I'll be back for sure :)
The duck, the truffle chips, and the deep fried cauliflower were the best I have had of these foods anywhere. Amazing
Lovely dinner and good service. As usual with most good restaurants the wines are expensive,
nonetheless will definitely come again.
A lovely place with a good atmosphere, great service, friendly staff and excellent food.
Will certainly return (often).
Why have a posh burger when you can have a duck burger? I didn’t want it to end. I want to have Monsieur le Duck’s duck burger again and again and again...
Very good food and great service, however a very small portion of red wine jus to charge £1 for it.
Absolutely great food with great service
A fantastic lunch and will definitely be coming back! Thank you monsieur le duck
Simply incredible. Great service- food to die for.
It was a birthday dinner with friends, and honestly it felt so special. The server we had, a woman with glasses and she just made the whole thing so special; from cracking jokes to bringing out dessert with a candle.
Will 100% be back and I have already told my friends
Brunch dishes were a hit and miss.
Duck Scotch egg was good.
Duck confit hash was a tad too salty.
Grilled duck croissant was slightly dry and could do with some sauce.
Croque Madame was good but nothing much to shout about. If duck slices were in it rather than ham then it would be something more unusual.
I was other tables with the Duck Wellington (available on the main menu) and looks amazing! Will be back for that next time.
Service and ambience were excellent!
really enjoyed our evening. Staff are polite and attentive. Food was most enjoyable. We will be back!
Excellent food and wine, served by cheerful, helpful and knowledgable members of staff. This was our second visit and it won’t be our last!
Really good food and super friendly staff. Will definitely be back
Excellent for hardcore duckies. Wine was superb. Attentive perfect service. Duck four-ways was almost too much, but not quite...
We had an amazing brunch at the restaurant. The food was delicious and really good value and the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. I would happily recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning soon.
Looked after so well. Thank you so much. Had such a great evening.
Friendly service, brilliant food, would definitely recommend
The Small plate starters were lovely.
We mostly ate thé Magret and discovered the Pan roasted was more tender than chargrilled. Not a surprise when one considers it really, so no issues.
The vegetables were a little over en enthusiastically al denté, and that made the greens with lardons a challenge to get out of the dish without spreading the lardons over the floor. Particularly as the green leaves were left almost uncut and so each piece filled the serving bowl edge to edge.
The only disappointment was the bread. It was essentially a supermarket baguette, right down to the dot pattern on the underside that marks the mass produced loaf.
For a restaurant that aims to capture the essence of regional French food, the poor bread was very jarring. It impacted the starters with the rillettes and detracted from that basest of pleasures, wiping down the plate at the end of the meal. A shame as the Jus was a delight.
The chocolate mouse was lovely and the coffee very good.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and happily no-one waited until I had taken my first mouthful to rush up and ask how my meal was.
Overall very good. But the bread...oh the bread!
Great experience overall. One of my guests was lactose intolerant and I particularly appreciated that our waiter knew about it and could either recommend specific items in the menu or make changes to them altogether. I'll definitely come back with more friends, and if they add cinnamon to the apple tart this will be even better.
I would recommend Monsieur Le Duck as the food was tasty and the service was very pleasant.
One mini suggestion would be adding the price of the lovely fresh-squeezed juice to the menu and/or specials board (which the staff may already have done!)
The menu was quite limited - and portion size on the small side for how much you're paying
Great food and wine. Lovely service, I especially liked the attention to detail with allergies as my son has a peanut allergy.
Medern rustic setting near the Barbican.
Loved it here
Timeout deal really worth it! The food was good and staff were really friendly!
Food was amazing. Nice selection of cocktails. Staff was friendly and attentive. Lightning was not optimal for the ‘gram. Would totally recommend and I’m sure I’ll be back again soon.
Expensive for what it is, which is essentially very salty duck. We got the platter for two and were underwhelmed. Service was good.
A superb twist on some French Duck Classics. Imagine a trendy Burger Restaurant combined with a French Restaurant in a Clerkenwell building with a good drinks menu and you have this wonderful place. I am looking forward to returning with my family who live in the South West of France.
We had an amazing dinner at MLD for my partner's birthday. The staff went out of their way to provide an excellent service with delicious food and ambience. It was a truly memorable evening. Thank you
The restaurant delivered on its promise of no-fuss but delicious food. We had the platter of duck for 2 to share, and everything was cooked right (medium rare for breast, crispy for duck thighs) The wine is reasonably priced too. I've recommended this place to friends and would definitely go back again when I am in the mood for duck.
The magret was delicious and cooked just right. Order this alongside the red wine jus! My friend had the burger, very tasty but slightly seasoned with salt. Worth a trip to Clerkenwell/Farringdon!
Really, really excellent food! We had the bread with duck fat butter to start, followed by duck confit with chips, salad & green beans for the main. Everything was delicious, no two ways about it!
The food all in was around £20-25 a head :) and cocktails were ~£10 each, so it was also very good value for money
We visited for the time out brunch. Great food (2 dishes per person) and some nice brut to accompany it (unlimited for 90mins). The atmosphere was a little bit less than their pop up, but a great afternoon and fantastic price.
Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch. Food was incredible throughout, the service was top notch (our waiter was a real sweetheart), and it was great value for money.
Only slight niggles - they tend to finish your hour and a half from the time you were seated rather than the time you were given drinks which does shave a good ten mins off. And even though our booking said we had the table for two hours, we were moved along 1hr 45 in - which did make us feel a little rushed and put a little dampener on it. Overall though, so good, looking forward to doing at again.
Excellent food and service! I would highly recommend this place.
