Monsieur Le Duck
Excellent food and lovely friendly professional service. Will be back!!
Confit, magret, lentilles et tarte aux pommes excellents.
Went for the soft launch and it was great. Duck confit was perfect and a spot on creme brûlée to follow. Nice venue. Relaxing vibe and friendly staff. Will certainly be back!
Although newly relocated, Monsieur Le Duck was operating to very high standards and gave us a really delightful lunch to celebrate our son's birthday. We look forward to visiting again soon and will be recommending our friends to enjoy themselves there.
If you like duck this is the place for you!!!! Not the widest choice but who cares - they do duck brilliantly
The room is industrial lovely, the staff are charming and if it’s duck you want to eat then yummy duck you shall have. The mixed green salad is perfect in the way only the french seem to do. And the frites are just as they should be. Can recommend the rhubarb gin cocktail.
Food was very good, the duck fat butter was an unexpected highlight. Fries are also excellent. Menu choices are concise, food was quick and very good.
Delicious food and excellent service. In particular, the house beer, duck burger, frites with truffle oil and all the desserts were fantastic (get 3 and share with someone!)
Fantastic food - as long as you like duck! Best chips I’ve had I ages, and believe me I eat a lot of chips. The restaurant is a lovely space, with nice design touches. Service was friendly if a little slow, but it was early days in the new site so I’m sure they’ll get up to speed.
Everything very good - confit duck amazing! Will definitely be back soon.
Some better wine choices by glass would be nice if I had to improve somethjng
Slightly pricey for what you get (no sides included) chargrilled duck breast was tasty as was the confit duck leg, and this was also softer to eat, but both were very salty. Some heartier sides like mash and a rich sauce would be welcome.
Service good, although slightly ott (no need to really go through everything on the menu). Would go again if there was a deal on.
Tasty food - good menu choices.
Good value for money
Excellent service from all staff
Exceptional selection of simple (not necessarily easy) and delicious dishes. The spring greens with the lardons and the duck fat butter were my particular favourites. Attentive and friendly staff and the house beer was spot on too!
Food was fab, service was great. Highly recommend... can’t wait to see what the Farringdon restaurant is like! :)
Proper French food and confit duck to die for😃A very limited menu but enough choice for most people.House red wine delicious.
Tasty, traditional French food in generous portions and faultless service from friendly, attentive staff made for a very pleasurable dining experience - heartily recommend the vegetable tart! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Informal but delicious dinner at a very good price. I'm already looking forward to trying their new venue when it opens in May with an expanded menu. In the meantime go for the Le Grand Jeu for a taste of everything. The confit was my favourite but my other half loved the pan roasted breast the most.
It's duck, of course. You have to like duck. If you do, you'll have a great dinner here. The pan-fried breast and confit leg are excellent. The grilled breast nearly as good as it's pan-fried counterpart; the duck burger ok, but really -- it's not why you go for duck, is it? The meal starts with a very refreshing mixed salad. The duck fat butter is yummy on the bread. The puy lentils are great, as are the green beans. Nothing wrong with the chips, but nothing special about them, either. Quite a drinkable pays d'oc red as well.
The place is noisy. That's about the only downside. You're unlikely to come here every week, but when you're hankering for duck -- don't hesitate.
The food was delicious! Duck burger exceeded expectations. Service at table just right. Strangely not busy - we were only guests! Fact that staff were sitting in main restaurant area on their laptop and chatting quite loudly was a bit odd and annoying. Atmosphere very plain but French music nice. Proper stemmed glassware for wine would be good. (I know in French bistros they give you glass tumblers) but sorry they are for kids lemonade!! Would go again in Clerkenwell but a few tweaks and improvements needed.
We had a lovely late Sunday lunch here; great, friendly, knowledgeable staff, good food, decent house wine and a relaxed atmosphere - but that may have been due to the hour and not needing to turn our table to get the next booking in. I would definitely go again once they are in their new location in Clerkenwell.
Monsieur Le Duck has a lovely atmosphere. A large wooden table splits the room from smaller tables to a few larger tables for groups. Although quite close quarters between tables we didn’t feel too overlooked being on the tables set back from the window.
The menu consisted of duck, which is obviously what you expect with the name, and the duck was cooked beautifully and at a very reasonable price.
Our only comment was the lack of beer choice on the menu but all in all - well worth the visit and great value for money.
We read about le duck and booked a table. It was amazing. Delicious food perfectly cooked ! Lovely staff . Can’t wait to visit again.
Interesting bistro specialising in duck
Well done good food at reasonable prices
If you love duck, as serverd in France, then this place is for you. Excellent foos
Absolutely delicious duck in a lovely venue with great service. Duck burger was to die for.
Monsieur le duck is a fantastic experience! Atmosphere, service and food were amazing. I would highly recommend Le Grand jeu!
We had the duck 4 ways platter, all 4 of which were cooked perfectly and were so distinct in flavour/texture etc. Woyld thoroughly recommend it to anyone!
The restaurant has a friendly, chilled vibe, and the staff are great!
The only down side is that they're moving next month so they won't be next to my office anymore!
A stones throw away form Liverpool Street station yet you're transported to a French bistro eating confit du canard sipping on a glass of red. A simple, straightforward menu with a small selection of very good wines, you really can't go wrong here.
I had my best lunch out in a long time at Monsieur Le Duck. The straightforward menu was great and accessible, the food delicious, and Maitre D Richard’s insistence that we try the creme brûlée was completely warranted - it was superb. Definitely recommend.
This place is an absolute gem - I have had the privilege of eating here on several occasions, and it just gets better and better! It genuinely feels like a little piece of rural France... in the heart of the City. The staff offer the perfect balance of insight and knowledge regarding the menu, with a welcoming and attentive manner. It is equally good for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner - I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you to the crew at Monsieur Le Duck.
Food was lovely, friendly stuff. Cute place. Would re visit for sure
Great place for a Mothers’ Day lunch. Lovely food, quick and friendly service. What more could you want?
The duck burger and duck breast were delicious. The confit duck leg was a bit too salty and the confit process was not done in-house, which is a shame considering duck is the speciality. The lentils were also too salty so we had to exchange them for another dish. The apple tart was simple but very tasty. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for the burger and location. The service was a bit strange at times but the staff were generally friendly and helpful.
Great experience – we felt as if we were in a jolly little bistro in southwest France (until we looked out of the window at the City of London). The duck was the best I've had - absolutely mouthwatering. And the perfect traditional crème brûlée – no weird flavours, no 'twists': just rich creamy base topped with delicious
crispy caramel. Staff were attentive, cheerful and helpful – really can't wait to go back!
Glass high tech body of a London City pop up, warm heart and soul of a Gascony cafe. Upon entry for dinner, a warm welcome, then a small but perfectly formed menu - the focus is duck and creating a comfortable cafe atmosphere where you can eat, drink and while away the hours with friends and loved ones; they don't pretend otherwise. All serving staff were friendly, attentive and well timed in their service; particular points to a one (a lady whose name we did not catch) who came to answer some questions we had about the menu then expressively explained the ethos of their pop up. You can tell that they take pride in what they do. Food was excellent, in a word. We had Le Grand Jeu for two, and separate prix fixes with the Confit and Magret de Canard, allowing for multiple sides. The duck mains were exquisite. Our table was split between which were our favourites, but we still loved all. All sides were simple but good - ones that stood out were the bread with duck fat butter (coarse sea salt sprinkled on, adding perfection), and truffle oil frites. We shared carafes of their table white and rosé - both delicious wines, easily drunk as aperitifs and also complimentary to our food. Ended with the crème brûlée and tarte aux pommes - both slightly rustic versus extremely refined but delicious nonetheless, the quality emphasised by the visible vanilla bean specks rippling through. Again, a reflection of the theme. Only regret is not getting the cheese platter! By no means cheap but extremely good value. Was a perfect start to a great group night out. Will hopefully be back before it ends.
Very nice food and extremely good value. One of the waitresses was extremely on the ball, the other seemed to have a bit of trouble with her English but was sweet.
Portion size on the share board was incredible - only slight disappointment was the duck burger - slightly over cooked. Confirm of duck leg was amazing
Was still full the next day! Staff very friendly - always would prefer a wine flass
Wonderful food, wine, atmosphere and service. Recommended.
You absolutely cannot fault a deal that gives you two duck breasts, a confit leg, a burger, two salads and two sides for £40 so this would never be a bad review.
The concept and atmosphere are truly wonderful and value for money cannot be faulted. The confit leg in particular was absolutely beautiful and we were on the verge of ordering another one!
The only negatives were a slightly over-dressed salad (although that's probably personal taste) and our desserts not being provided, although as soon as the staff realised the mistake these were provided and taken off the bill.
All in all a truly brilliant evening of excellent food in an amazing setting for a very reasonable price.
