Montana's BBQ & Bar - Kitchener
Took the family for a birthday celebration. It was not busy and I really did not need a reservation, but it meant the table was ready with booster seat, kids' menu, crayons etc. for the grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed their meals (noodles, pizza for the kids; fajitas, burger, Apple salad with chicken for the adults) except one major complaint that the ribs were COLD. (Since this was reported later by the eater, the meal was not sent back as it should have been!) Service was prompt and friendly. Complementary Birthday dessert was shared (wearing of moose horns was declined by the bday person).
We were disappointed with the ribs. They were very dry. Luckily, our server (Linda) made up for the poor meal with outstanding service. Everything else was fine.
It was a good burger the steak was over cooked. It was nice they brought over a dessert for a birthday celebration.
We had the rib and chicken wing fours from the menu.
Both platters contained the dryest chicken we have had in a long time.
The ribs were excellent.
I guess we are spoiled after eating chicken at other restaurants.
We thought Montanas specialized in ribs and chicken.
This is the best place for ribs and other big meals .
- Typically consistent and reliable - great burgers
- tried the lettuce wraps for the first time - a bit of a letdown
Great experience. Waitress was super helpful :)
We had a small Retirement get together and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and food.
Our Waitress was amazing, I have no complaints at all
We had a coupon, and decided to try Montana's. We were not disappointed. The Steak and Bacon entree was great, although a little overdone. We had the 1/2 price wings for an appetizer. They were delicious,
Went for child’s birthday, food for children was great, clown was awesome, birthday song by wait staff excellent. Failure on adult meals. Pretty much everyone had ribs and we all said thT they were toooo dry. The waitress mixed up our sides and food was COLD. The place was packed and not enough staff. Not staff problem, management needs to hire more staff.
Kids loved it, but we won’t be back for an Adult night out.
If I had known before booking I would have went somewhere else. The night we went it was social painting night.
We were out for lunch before the Rangers game with a group of 7 adults and 2 kids. I put in the special notes of the booking that a booster seat would be required and the table was set perfectly with 2 kids (well-placed) placements, crayons, and a booster seat. Our server/waitress made the entire experience perfect for the family. She was clearly prepared for a larger group and engaged both the kiddies and adults perfectly!
Great place for a pre- or post-game family meal.
Always enjoyable, always good food, my son was celebrating his first day at his co-op job.
Good food, it was busy and didn't see mich of our waitress and took food a little long to come out. Overall not that bad.
Had the ribs and sweet potato fries. All tasted good!
My boyfriend and I love going to Montana's on our date nights, for birthdays and basically whenever we want to go out. I feel comfortable while there since it has such a homey country feel. Unfortunately this past visit my chicken for the fajitas was very over cooked. I asked for more fixings and by the time I got them, my chicken was cold and my boyfriend had finished his food. They were very busy, but it was just a tad frustrating. This definitely won't deter us from going back, but might make me think different about what I order
I had authentic bbq. It is the restaurant to have a special occasion dinner with the family. On their menu are beef ribs with cornbread and coleslaw. They also have Caesar salad. The calories were listed and the appetizers deal was affordable. They let me use my gift cards too.
It was a great experience!
He food was really good!! My kids loved thier face painted they had fun
The food was just ok. I could eat it, I wasn't excited about it and I wouldn't want it again. I had the steak salad and it came with huge triangles of steak. Thin slices are what I had expected, it was challenging to eat. Over all bland. No wow. Hubby got the steak sandwich and his opinion was also that it lacked character. It was meat and cheese, no sauce and a highly processed bun. Meh. My daughter got the sliders and didn't touch them. When I asked if she wanted to have them for dinner she said, no, they were not tasty Mom. She's 3. So over all, kinda disappointing.
We were celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday. I made a note of it in the section provided for special requests in the online booking. The waitress was less than attentive which was shocking since the place was practically empty (like 2 other tables) and getting even water refilled was next to impossible. She didn't answer our questions clearly and it seemed like it was an effort to serve us and other servers were the ones who brought us stuff. Earlier in the night the staff sang happy birthday to another table but when it came time to get our check, we had to tell the waitress that it was my daughter's birthday. She looked at us and said "ya well, we usually sing but there isn't a lot of staff here." After staring blankly into space for a few mins she said "I guess I could get you a birthday dessert". She brought back the dessert and left - still nothing. Trying to get the bill was another story! We were sitting at the table so long the manager (I think) came and asked us if we were just hanging out and I told him we were still waiting for our bill. He got it for us and the dessert was on the bill! At no time when we ordered the dessert did this server say that it wasn't what they offered as a "free birthday dessert". The manager asked how our dinner went and after explaining our disappointment to him he took the dessert off our bill. He did send another waitress over with the hat to sing but my daughter burst into tear because it was so pathetic. She felt insulted and humiliated and left the restaurant in tears. I'm sure the memories of her 16th birthday wont be something she treasures for always.
Our dinner was great but they knew nothing of my reservation. Since there are only 2 locations in this area i verified i booked the reso at the correct location. Was ok this time as it was only 3 people but if i had made a reso for a large group this may have been an issue. Will not be making reso's online again.
Everything was wonderful our waitress Megan was awesome. The waitresses tried guessing what me and friend wanted for dessert we shared the warm cookie which was very warm and tasty. I had not been to this place In a longtime I choose the sampler sampler and would not only get it again but would recommend it to anyone wanting a taste of everything. Thanks for making the experience a great one keep up the great work and I will becoming back one day
