It resembles old Roman “Fraschette” offering a wide selection of artisanal cheeses and cured meats, cold dishes from Roman tradition and a modern take on Pinsa, a low fat, low calorie and easy to digest flat bread made with a blend of rice, soy and wheat flour imported directly from Rome, all GMO free.
Our wine list represents mostly old world regions. We carry wines that are made from grape varietals native to their respective areas. We feature smaller producers of less known wines with a focus on organic, biodynamic and natural agriculture.

Delicious pinsa and an interesting ambiance in an old industrial building. Highly authentic and creative!
Always a great experience here, and the wine choices and advice, and desserts - first rate!
Simply delicious and unique
Nice Italian wine selection, great food..takes us back to our trip to Italy! Thank you and so happy to see you survived the pandemic. We will be back soon.
The food was amazing! The service was great! Kudos!
Excellent service and very good food. A nice restaurant I definitely recommend!
Delicious! Loved everything we ate. Excellent service. The upstairs patio is a great alternative to dining I side. Great wine list with wines that paired well with the food. We’ll be back.
This place was awesome! Food was so delicious. Everything we had was delicious. Would definitely come back!
The block this is on is not the safest, however
Great spot! The food and value are perfect. The neighborhood sucks, but it’s kind of an adventure to go.
What a find. I saw a photo of the pinsa somewhere and thought it looked good. It was fabulous.!!!!!!!It was the best pizza crust and flavor I have ever had including Italy.
Everyone was happy! Need to say no more.
Great place. Just be aware and prepared for a very sketch part of town.
Montesacro is an oasis and gem right off the the otherwise "sketchy" 6th street corridor. The Pinsa is delicious and a nice change from pizza (similar but uses a different flour mix which includes rice, and the dough is fermented longer). We had the Casale Bertone and the Montesacro which were both delicious. The antipasti menu also has a lovely assortment of meats (although they also have vegan and vegetarian options).
Interior is pleasant like an old world pizzeria.
Service is good.
The neighborhood has many tenement hotels. It didn't feel unsafe to me but has become dirtier over the past 2 years (like other parts of SF). I parked on 6th street. But Pinsa is not going to taste as good as takeout. My wife and I both thought it was worth going to Montesacro in person.
Great food. Been here a few times and have dreams of the Pinsa especially. All have been exceptional.
The wait staff are all very friendly and charming.
Can't wait to go back.
Went with kids, not the best place to take them, but the people working there made their best effort to make their experience great. Food and drinks were great
Very good and interesting food and wine. Brush up on your Italian before going. Ambiance was very nice.
Surrounding neighborhood a little dodgy so be aware if you are walking.
The 5 of us really enjoyed dinner here. The 4 appetizers were all great. The fennel with blood orange, and the burrrata were standouts. We were hesitant about the pinsa dough, but all 3 pizzas came out chewy, crunchy, and delicious. The one with lardo and one that was stuffed were really good. There is a good selection of Italian wines too. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back, but must point out that the location is full of homeless and made some of us visitors a little nervous.
The food was bland.
Great food and very kind and attentive staff. We enjoyed it!
It was a great first date spot. Pizza and wine selection were great!
Fantastic food fantastic service great environment wonderful experience I recommend the place highly food is tremendous and delicious and I’ve always enjoyed going there it’s definitely worth the experience both taste wise and ambience Wise
Unexpectedly fabulous …. authentic Old World Northern Italian.
We've been here multiple times but this is the first time post-pandemic. It is quieter and was not as busy but the food and service were the same as we remember. The pinsas are wonderful. Be sure to try the pistachio pinsa for dessert. We will be back again.
Great good! The service was wonderful. Really an interesting place.
Really delicious food! Rivals any restaurant in the city
Great service great food great environment.
I didn’t like it… I loved it……!
We've been many, many times as it's unique and quirky! So nice to sit inside and be normal. Our first restaurant in SF since March 2020, we'll go back again and again. LOVE the wine, cheese and meat variety as well as the beautiful Pinsa's.
Wonderful food. We especially enjoyed the Ostia.😊
Great , unique food in an unconventional street
Good vibes and even better customer service. Will definitely be back!
They were very accommodating with our reservation when our work day went late . Welcomed us at the door and escorted us up to the terrace. Wonderful food, really amazing ingredients !
Weird location, but food was worth it.
The food was phenomenal. BEST pizza I’ve ever had. His ingredients are as fresh as can be. His method is old school and delicious!! The host took personal Care of us. Eclectic place. Loved it.
It’s a wonderful restaurant but in a very sketchy area and the streets lead to it are dirty.
Montesacro needs to open another restaurant in the South Bay like in Mountain View or Sunnyvale....
Other than some of the uncomfortable metal chairs this is a great spot. Like walking into some highly rated Spot in a Rome neighborhood though this is on the edge of one of SFs edgy neighborhoods. The pinseria are wonderful- light and flavorful. As are the vegetables in oil. Our server was just the right amount of attentive. Thanks again.
Great food, very interesting setting up on the roof deck.
LOVE Monte Sacro, but the sevice is beyond bad. Friendly! But disorganized.
This is the best hidden spot for pinsa in San Francisco. Period. Service was great & the food delicious. This is the perfect place to take a date or friends & family!
First time eating Pinsa and loved it. The atmosphere is laid back and seems that everyone waits on you not just one waiter. Very friendly.
Fun place to hang out with friends / date
