Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue
If beer and BBQ were all Morgan’s did, we would already be the best restaurant serving ‘cue in the Brooklyn area. Add to that an original menu that features regional classics done right—house-smoked queso, tacos and sliders, pecan pie—alongside a deep well of liquor and beer knowledge provided by a staff that knows and cares about having a good time…well, you’ve got yourself not just a restaurant but a destination.
Get there early, we sell-out often, and stay late, because we always have a good time.
Food was absolutely amazing and the portions were pretty generous and decently priced. We sat inside since the tables outside were filled and it was still an amazing experience. Would definitely return and hope to snag an outside seat!
Our server was extremely slow.
Just regular solo date night. Wings and kale salad is my preference. Always amazing. Not expensive at all and worth way more than the cost.
The food and drinks are insanely over priced. A small cup of coleslaw (that's right, coleslaw...chopped cabbage that is so cheap you could live off it for a year and only spend $20) was SEVEN DOLLARS. Not only was the coleslaw $7, it also tasted like a refrigerator which means it was either very old or the cabbage had been chopped and sat without dressing for a long time. The ribs were actually very good, however overpriced and really tiny. The wine, served in a Coupe Glass should have not been $13. It was not even a full glass. Even the bartenders and waitstaff agreed they should be serving a normal size glass. These owners obviously think that their location warrants such prices, but there are many other places people can go that serve good food at fair prices. Oh and the service is horrible! The waiter was very nice but it took like a year for him to just ask me what I wanted to drink and another year to get his attention and the check.
We went to Morgan's to celebrate back to school with the kids (teenagers) and the food was great as it always has been. Best thing is the fatty brisket. Next would be ribs. Pulled pork is great too according to my fam. The weather was lovely so we sat outside. It was extra fun because there was a KISS concert at Barclay's so the people watching was great. Our server could have told us we ordered too much food (because we did) and maybe he needed help because it took a long time to get the bill and then for him to return to get my credit card. Plenty of bus people though so table was clean and our food arrived quickly. Will go back again. and again. Thanks!
Great food, comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended
Fantastic food. Good portion size. Service was great too. Food came out fast. Highly recommend.
Service was slow, food was great. Was not happy that you couldn’t get happy hour drink specials because we sat at a table. Needed to be at bar to get deals which was only 5 feet away.
Very chill wasn't packed. The staff was very friendly some were kinda forgetful but once you told them they handled it. The food was yummy wish they had a more big variety of non alcoholic drinks.chicken and waffles was $15, chicken, greens and mac was $22. Greens were very fresh
The staff and food was exceptional and friendly. I would highly recommend this spot to my friends.
Slow service, Meals were served in takeout containers right on the table no plates no napkins had to ask for a fork and knife
My Husband loves BBQ so, I made reservations for his BD. When I made the reservation I made a note that we were traveling with our 1yr old and needed a high chair. It was a rainy day. We arrived 30min early. We were seated immediately and I can tell she read my notes. She got the high chair right away. They had the nice chair I liked which is compact and hangs off the table. She installed it and made sure it was secure. Let me double check smiles when I was happy and left. Seconds after that Ethan our waiter was with us. He was funny and attentive with all of us especially the baby. Orders came out quickly, hot and correct. Ethan even helped distract my baby with his toy in order for me to take a way a plate a way from him. Food & drinks were amazing! Great experience! We will definitely be back!
Wow! Made a reservation on a whim and so glad! Food was great, service staff was very friendly and we will definitely be back. I can't stop thinking about the candied bacon!
Food was at ok, nothing impressive.
I just didn’t like the fact that there was no wet tissues, BBQ places should always have wet tissues just like seafood places.
Overall ok for everyday eating.
Great fried chicken sandwich!
Amazing as always. Love their Avocado brunch plate! Amazing 🗣
The Service was amazing. The food was fast and everyone wore a smile. I will definitley be back and I highly recommend to anyone looking for great bbq and a cool vibe. I highly suggest the burnt ends and the pork belly!
Morgan's BBQ is a nice place with great picnic tables and cool indoor seating. It has nice drinks and a diverse menu including bbq, Mac n cheese, tacos, fried chicken and sandwiches. The brisket rub is too salty probably double what is needed. The rib rub is a bit sooty, powdery & earthy in taste and texture. The potato salad is strange and not my cup of tea, a bit orange in color due to seasonings. The collards were fine, not great in seasoning (not sweet, salty or complex). The cornbread is cake like, but more dense in texture not fluffy.
I liked the frito pie. It had a good ratio of chili to chips plus spicy. The lettuce and cheese cooled it all down, too.
The sweet tea drink (Texas Two Step, i think) was the best. Great tea first, then a great balance of bourbon not overpowering.
The best for last, the key lime pie for 2. They nailed it, so good!
All in all I liked the place and found enough to eat.
Great food! My wife and I sat outside on a beautful, sunny saturday afternoon. This part of Brooklyn is gorgeous and i wouldnt want to sit inside. The staff was very nice, however, the waitress didnt bring our drinks until after we got our food. I would recommend eating here because of the location alone. Try the candied bacon, or the catfish tacos, both are delicious!
Food was great sour waiter Jeremy was exceptional. Will definitely come again
Good service. BBQ was okay not the best. But worth a trip.
Plz fix air conditioner
Loved Morgan's BBQ Brooklyn. Servers were attentive and friendly. We ate outdoors with our dog Junior, who was very happy to be in a dog friendly environment. The food was tasty and served at the right temperature. Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Always love the food but uncomfortably warm last time
Tolles BBQ, absolut zuvorkommende Bedienung. Einfach ein insgesamt tolles Restaurant in Brooklynn
Came here to enjoy BBQ on 4th of July. As being from Texas I wanted to see how it compares. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. The guy who smokes the meat is from Texas which makes it even better.
I love barbecue and has been trying to find the perfect spot, and I found it. The food was excellent. The spices on the ribs and brisket was just right. The collard greens was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The servers kept checking on us to make sure everything was alright and I loved that. I'll definitely going back to Morgan's because I want to try everything on the menu. I really loved it.
The food was good but the restaurant was so unbearably hot that we couldn't enjoy anything. We took most of our food home. It was so uncomfortable I'm not sure we will return.
Fun patio sitting, great service, but the food was just okay - the pork rib was a little dry and can use a bit more cooking time to get it more tender, sausage was a bit salty to me, mac and cheese was good and the coconut margarita quenched my thirst.
Servers were very attentive and on top of our order. The food was great. A little high priced for some of the sizes of the sides but still good.
You need more servers on the patio in warm weather. We were consistently waiting for service.
Overcrowded, out of the most popular dishes, way too loud, our table wasn't ready on time. The server was overworked and overwhelmed. Food good as always but hard to enjoy given the other issues, and super disappointed to miss out on some of their classic dishes which they ran out of. Will definitely think twice before returning.
The food was good. Service wasn’t the greatest we waited forever for our food.
Our table was ready when we arrived and the hostess was so friendly! We had a great time from the drinks to the food. Our server was amazing.
Morgan’s is my go to date spot and usually I’m always happy with the service. Today was terrible. My waitress didn’t introduce herself, she didn’t know the menu, she didn’t come and check on us when the food came or ask if we need anything, she didn’t ask us if we wanted another round of drinks. She wasn’t attentive at all. Today was a major let down.
I have never been to a bbq restaurant where the cornbread was ice cold and dry not even room temp. Come well before you reservation especially on the weekend.
Not sure if this is typical of the experience, but the server was slow to serve us. (We waited in excess of 20min for a refill on our water, and by the time we received a spoon to serve the mac & cheese it was a bit cold.) They were also out of key menu items (turkey, pork belly, etc). The food was good once we received it, but there was no apology offered for that extended wait either. Probably not going to return given the other choices for BBQ in the borough.
Great place to spend with family and friends.
Overall, great dining experience. The food is very flavorful, cooked to perfection, and the amount of food is properly portioned for the money with plenty to take home. The Holy Trinity (the Brisket order with a side of smoked wings and collards. The cornbread is delicious as well. Looking forward to trying out burgers and mushroom Mac soon.
Totally enjoyed our experience those candied bacon strips OMG ARE EVERYTHING!!!
we will be back soon!
