About
In keeping with Moro and Morito on Exmouth Market, Hackney Road will draw influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean including the island of Crete where Head Chef Marianna Leivaditaki grew up and worked in her family’s fish restaurant. Samantha and Marianna have worked hard sourcing exceptional produce, some of which is not yet available in London.
We have concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.
Delicious and interesting food, delightful service, reasonable prices, and a great place at lunchtimes for oldies like me who are slightly deaf to have a quiet chat - provided you don't go on a day when there are noisy youngsters there with their mothers. This was my third lunchtime visit and only on one of those visits was that a problem. I have no idea what it is like when crowded.
Really great staff who didn't rush us and were helpful with choices. Would definitely go back for a special occasion.
Morito delights the senses in more ways than taste.
Always good.
Surprisingly service not at the best this trip.
Great place, tasty food, good wine list. Always reliable.
Not as good as previous times being there but still good food
Went and sat next to a large party that were screaming and shouting with noise levels that went through the roof.
The guests showed complete disregard for the whole restaurant and whilst they were requested to quieten down once they kept up the rowdy behaviour.
The whole restaurant suffered from this and it should not be allowed to happen with a full house. Very, very disappointing.
Sad that it was prioritised to get more orders from a disrespectful group that should have been asked politely to leave rather than ruin the atmosphere for all other customers.
the food is good but it is horribly expensive for what it is, and the portions are small. also, the music is really out, feels more like a bar than a restaurant. I would not go back
Excellent, as always! Food and service is great. Thank you very much.
Monday vegan days are awesome.
Some people still question that vegan food is blend and boring, take them to Morito on a Monday and you’ll proof them wrong!
Really great food & service
Please think about a more interesting Vegan desert/pudding
Great meal and cocktails at Morito. The whole John Dory was amazing. Didn't have room for dessert but couldn't resist the apricot ice cream with pistachios to share.
Perfect venue for a birthday dinner when sharing is the best way to try a cacophony of delightful dishes. Catering across the board for the variety of tastes and quirks of six very particular guests. Good value, great atmosphere, a tad noisy perhaps, but a return match definitely on the books.
Lovely tapas-style food at very reasonable prices and an interesting selection of drinks. The vegan Monday was the draw for me and I enjoyed the variety of dishes on offer and the creativity involved. All dishes were vegetable-based (no meat substitutes, not that I'm opposed to them) and delicious - I would particularly recommend the deep fried cauliflower, which was delicious. Atmosphere was busy and sociable and the service was timely and friendly. Food comes out as and when it is ready, which isn't a problem when sharing. I would definitely return.
Food was really good and service was excellent. Was fairly priced I thought.
Amazing food with the greatest attention put to taste! A must go to!
The food and service at Morito is excellent! The food is really worth it. So delicious, creative and nicely presented. Dietary requirements are catered for as well. The service is friendly and prompt. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and it is clean. My only criticism is that it was quite noisy, and the food is on the pricier side although I think worth it.
i do love morito. the staff are always fantastic, and the food absoluty divine (i love the aubergine dish especially )
but the acoustics....
oh my word.
i’ve never managed to stay for dessert because by then the noise level is kind of intolerable. every time.
it’s absolutely the only negative on an otherwise excellent restaurant.
Such delicious food and amazing service, can't wait to go back!
Très déçu par la carte, les prix prohibitifs, des quantités limitées dans l’assiette, et par le service
Je m’attendais à un restaurant original hispanisant
C’est un repère bobo qui ce prend pour ce qu’il n’est pas
Excellent food, excellent service
Amazing, the best food! New favourite restaurant in London.
Great food, love the breakfast there. I find for dinner you end up spending a fair bit of money to fill up (I think they should learn from the spanish and have something more robust, e.g. patatas bravas) but the breakfast is both excellent and great value.
Having said all that, I happily go for dinner too, I just think they could have a few dishes where big people can fill up without spending £10 per dish.
Always excellent food and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
The food was lovely. There was a mistake with my friends order not getting made, but they made his meal complementary and gave us two free puddings. Was very impressed by the customer service when something had gone wrong. Lovely ambiance and the food is a great fresh take on Mediterranean food.
I would definitely come back again - and am excited to try Vegan Mondays !
Delicious food, would highly recommend for any occasion.
Amazing food and cocktails and well worth the price. Service was good, food delivered promptly, but staff were very busy and rushed. Only suggestion for improvement is regarding ambience - it’s quite loud and hard to hear the person across from you. Perhaps some softer furnishings would help with acoustics, there are lots of small/crowded spaces in London that have managed this
Very good. Enjoyed it a lot. Set menu was delicious, and reasonable value. I liked the draught wine, too.
A bit over rated, if I am truthful.... it's good but didn't hit the dizzy heights I kind of expected.... nice vibe though....
Went for Vegan Monday and absolutely loved. Highly recommend the aubergine.
This is the second time I've eaten at Morito in 3 days. I had to come back after Saturday's amazing meal for their fully vegan offer on Monday. All the food is delicious, opting for 5 dishes between the 2 of us plus a dessert meant we were sated and very happy. I hope they continue to be inventive with their menu and perhaps bring a couple extra veggie / vegan options over into their usual menu - clearly they are popular as the place was packed.
Absolutely delicious, creative food, interesting dishes - would happily eat every item off the menu until I could eat no more!
We love this restaurant, the food is great and the space feels thriving and cosmopolitan. Getting the attention of a waitress can be hard though, no one asked how our food was and even after asking for the bill we had to wait a while to pay which ruined the experience a bit.
Great food...great experience!
Great food and service as always !
LOVED the watermelon feta salad, the red mullet fish with zaatar, lamb chop and fried aubergine !!
Amazing food and the best service. I can't get enough of this place.
so accomodating and the most friendly server, incredibly patient with our 1 year-old!
I get all the fuss about this place but it’s ok. I think the food is slightly overrated. Good overall vibe.
The only downside is that we felt a bit rushed
Delicious. Attentive staff. Proactive with Gluten free suggestions. Overall fabulous.
