In keeping with Moro and Morito on Exmouth Market, Hackney Road will draw influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean including the island of Crete where Head Chef Marianna Leivaditaki grew up and worked in her family’s fish restaurant. Samantha and Marianna have worked hard sourcing exceptional produce, some of which is not yet available in London.
We have concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.
food was not as good as it used to be, some of the dishes were given to us cold.
Food was amazing as always
Really enjoyed it, super good food and a nice atmosphere. It's not expensive exactly, 4 people with a few drinks, 2 dishes each was 140£.
Food was tasty but not many vegan options on a Sunday. Service was good but it was packed inside so a bit of a tight squeeze to walk around. I would however go again and plan to go on a Monday as there are lots of vegan options.
The food was very good but it was very noisy. Not ideal for a dinner for two on your wedding anniversary. Also the service was a bit odd. Our starters arrived before our aperitivo/smoked almonds. We then waited for a long time for the mains. Very friendly staff though and we would go back, probably at lunch time or in a group.
Cheerful and cozy atmosphere.
Everything was very tasty which we ordered.
Lamb chops, Spare lib and cuttlefish meal were stunning.
Stuffs were very nice and kind.
We had wonderful time. Thank you very much.
The food was pretty good but the wait staff were incredibly surly! Didn’t make us feel welcome and had zero warmth. Sadly this affected the overall experience.
Laid back busy but food is good, very millennial and being in Shoreditch you’d have to expect it
Second visit and even better than I remember. Bit of a treat night with my daughter and we had a super duper meal. The pan con tomate with anchovy was simple and lovely and only the start.
Delicious food, we only had 4 plates and some flat bread but all the dishes were really good and decent portion sizes. Will definitely go back again.
Had high expectation already, but the dishes were beyond my long developed expectation.
I would say it’s definitely one of the best in E LDN. Highly recommend to my Foodie friends
We visit Morito once every month and we love their food. Although we knew that the restaurant can become a bit noisy when it's busy, this time it was almost impossible to chat with our friends. I think they have to find a nice acoustic solution because otherwise, the only thing you'll remember won't be the taste of the food but the relief you get when you left the place. It's a pity.
Wonderful food and service in a beautiful contemporary space
Fantastic food, friendly staff, great value for money ! Definitely one of the best dining options along hackney road.
Really delicious food, tons of flavour and interesting textures. All of the servers and staff were really friendly and our main server gave us brilliant recommendations on what to eat. The menu itself is small but that is to its benefit as there is no dead weight, each dish fits a niche is worth trying. Highly recommend and will be back again.
Delicious food nestled in the heart of Hackney! Would highly recommend for a special occasion!
Lovely restaurant, one of my favourite places to eat in Hackney.
Very cool interior design and the service is always very friendly and welcoming. Is a bit noisy and the dishes are not very abundant but the food is quite authentic (the tortilla was dry but the other dishes were very well prepared, the labneh is delicious). Very recommended
Wonderful flavours and textures - great cooking. Fun, friendly atmosphere.
Really great food. A lot of interesting dishes. Fresh and light flavours. Some of the best vegetarian options in London. The meat amd fish are top quality too. Its a bit loud but the space is open and full of light.
Excellent evening, the food was absolutely delicious, fantastic service and was more than full after the delicious set menu xx
Summer season offers a better menu then the rest of year, staff are allways friendly.
Top restaurant for London!
Food was really good but somehow I find Morito in Exmouth Market delivers outstanding quality at a higher level.
Service was impressive, very helpful friendly efficient staff. The noise level really bothered me and we had to shout to each other to hear our conversation. The drinks were amazing. I would def recommend it to a friend but I would return to Exmouth Market rather than this Hackney restaurant.
One of the best places in Hackney, amazing food, good ambiance, just a lovely night out.
Friendly staff, lovely food, good wine recommendation, buzzy atmosphere.
The dishes are very good, very tasty and so well executed. The service is very smily and welcoming. Well done ! I love this place. The bill is maybe a bit over what you should pay, but it worths it anyway :)
perfect Sunday brunch...good food friendly staff and buzzy atmosphere.
absolutely delicious food and great service! lovely little restaurant
Soprry for the cliche but me and friends kept saying 'I cant believe this is vegan'!
Incredible food, cool decor and atmosphere. Heard great things and was not disappointed! Will be returning soon.
good presentation, good balance on dishes and very well done. as an an overall, good but i m missing sparks. would recommend the duck as best dish.
could improve on table service with water(waiting for ten minutes to try to catch the eyes to get some), its a shame otherwise i would give a 5*
not sure if it was the food or us. Looks like we had a good experience at restaurant, but we all had a funny stomach, nothing majors but enough not to recommend
Super friendly and helpful staff. Good size portions - not too big or too small :)
One of My favourite places to eat! Always happy tastebuds
My favourite restaurant! Absolutely love this place!
Aubergine and feta cheese with pomegranate as heavenly as I remembered
Great value of money!
Great place! Great food! Great service! Proper sized rations and most important : really really nice taste.
We ordered: bread, olives, fried aubergine, crispy duck and beef and a bottle of wine.
Crispy duck could be better: lack of strength-power, nice duck but no well mixed with apricots (my opinion) and curly endive.
The other dishes and tapas simply AMAZING!!!
I would recommend it and i will go again please don’t miss the cauliflower on Veggies Monday’ also amazing
PS: can someone explain me why wine is so expensive in this City?????
Morito has great food and I really love the restaurant for so many reasons but mostly because the food is always stellar and interesting. But- the last two times their seating policy has made my table really feel like we are just coins in their machine. Come, eat, pay and leave as quickly as possible so they can get next Group in to do the same. It’s a shame. If they could relax their seating policy just a bit it would really make all the difference!
I love the idea of a vegan menu every monday. I think they've come up with a great idea. I marked down the food a bit as one of the dishes was so salty we had to return it, and as it was the last to come to the table, we didn't replace it.
But everything else was fantastic!
10/10 from the moment we walked into the door. Absolutely delicious vegan food, and outstanding service. Highly recommend.
