In keeping with Moro and Morito on Exmouth Market, Hackney Road will draw influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean including the island of Crete where Head Chef Marianna Leivaditaki grew up and worked in her family’s fish restaurant. Samantha and Marianna have worked hard sourcing exceptional produce, some of which is not yet available in London.
We have concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.
Love it here!!!! Food is so tasty!!!!!
One of our favourite restaurants in London that we try to visit as often as possible. Great food!
Very helpful and friendly staff, food fab. Great to start the day there with brunch.
the food is fantastic! it made up for the service - which could have been more accomodating considering that we were a large group. (kept forgetting our plates, not checking in, we had to constantly search for the waiter for wine refills, etc). but would give this place another chance and certainly come back again - the food is just unbelievable.
Had a great lunch at Morito, really friendly and knowledgeable service with great food.
Went on a Sunday and the attention to the food was lacking. Possibly due to how busy it was. Go on a week night.
Really loved the ambiance and a little magical Hide-away. I can’t wait to return there to try more of the aubergine, and lambs...the spices were divine
Second time there and its very pleasant place to go and eat food and staff is amazing. Just one note for the tables next to the door fix the curtain in the entrance in the cold weather let's a lot of wind come in. Apart from that amazing place
The menu is great but the more expensive meat dishes were pretty small and disappointing.
Food was amazing, drinks were amazing, and staff were so helpful
It's a bit cold if you are sitting in the seats by the door.
Every dish ordered was excellent in both quality of ingredients and flavours. Buzzy atmosphere and charming staff. Generous portion sizes and delicious wine! What more could you want?
Delicious food and really lovely place to have dinner. One downside: we thought the plates/portions were quite small for their price so don't go feeling really hungry because the food might not be enough.
A laid back dining experience in a buzzy space, serving delicious layered flavours, full of depth and authenticity on eclectic ceramics.
Absolutely loved our meal, everything my friend and I ordered was delicious and we had a really nice table where we could see the kitchen and we had space to chat to each other. It isn't cheap but the food is so good that I felt like it was good value. Staff were helpful, only thing I would say if booking for Sunday to make sure you book for earlier (I'd booked for 8) as I hadn't realised they close early so it felt a bit rushed at the end. Definitely hope to return soon!
Delicious food, great service. It was consistently noisy throughout, which made it difficult to have conversations across the table, but that was due to it being extremely busy, which is the sign of a good restaurant
Always love Morito. Casual in a great way, food amazing and always a great buzz to the place.
main host was a bit intimidating and a bit rude to both me and then my friend who arrived later putting a bit of a sour feel on the lunch,
Other waiter and waitress were lovely
Vibrant atmosphere and lovely food. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Fantastic meal, very interesting menu and all delicious! Service was excellent and nice vibe to the place! So will definitely eat there again
The food was incredible and the service was great and friendly. Noise levels are extreme on a Friday night and the food and wine are a bit pricey, but very good.
We like morito but was disappointed this time because the wine we ordered was corked. We sent it back and the second carafe came back and was corked again. We were informed that the whole case they had was indeed corked. By this time we were nearing the end of our meal and therefore didn’t request any further wine but some cocktails. Was disappointed that we were not offered the cocktails free as a nice gesture.
Nevertheless the food is good and therefore will continue to recommend it. We will go back, but not in a hurry.
The best restaurant in Shoreditch in my opinion! Amazing food at such a decent price
Super special place, delicious food and very interesting wine list. A favourite for sure!
Best food in London , delicious . Great friendly staff and top selection of non meat dishes as well as very tasty fish and meat options . Shareable and very special tasty bread
Always a great treat to eat at Morito, excellent service and outstanding food & wine.
As a vegetarian this place is a treat every time! My favourite restaurant in Hackney.
No competition.. always the best food and friendly service in East London.
Our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived but we were offered complimentary drinks and nibbles from the charming head of staff. Would highly recommend
Enjoyable food and ambience let down by crappy service with bad attitude.
The aubergine is life changing. Great atmosphere and service is wonderful
Beautiful dishes (LOVED the artichoke, tabouleh and duck breast salad), a table outside in the sun and great staff. Would def recommend.
Exellent food and drinks for breakfast at reasonable prices. The menemen is a must
Hair in my food. Service was lacking. Food was overpriced. Have been to Morito for many years but won’t be returning - definitely declined.
Unfortunately I observed someone from the staff eating several spoonfuls out of a bowl in the kitchen. Another person came and tasted the dish putting the spoon away. Once I saw it I haven’t left my eyes of the bowl to see what will happen. The chef just topped it up with more tabbouleh. When I complained I‘ve been told that the bowl has been swapped for a new one and that it was the usual staff tasting. Especially the chef made me feel like an idiot. But the bowl hasn’t been swapped unless in some magic Super quick blink of my eye. I understand that things should be tasted before being served, but that was not the case. And somehow in my naivety I hope that the spoon will be put away. The manager was polite but we haven’t been offered any refund or deduction from our bill. It spoiled our evening outand I will never go there again.
The food was lovely and drinks were good value. The staff were kind and informative but there should have been some music playing, particularly at the beginning when the restaurant was relatively empty.
Amazing food – an inspiring combination of Spanish and Middle Eastern – and very generous servings, especially of the starters within the set menu. Very nice atmosphere and good service.
Still one of my favourite restaurants in London. Food was superb. Menu always innovative.
Amazing as always. The food is divine, the service is there exactly when you need it and it's all definitely worth the price.
Excellent - absolutely delicious food (lots of sharing dishes) and nice buzzy atmosphere in the restaurant. It was packed so would recommend booking in advance.
I love this place! Food and service is always outstanding, we had really delicious lamb cutlets, labneh, artichoke, squid, beetroot salad, warm breads, fresh and chilled white wine- totally lovely.
It always feels relaxed and unhassled, even when it’s busy, which it was the Friday evening we went.
I’ll definitely be going back.
