In keeping with Moro and Morito on Exmouth Market, Hackney Road will draw influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean including the island of Crete where Head Chef Marianna Leivaditaki grew up and worked in her family’s fish restaurant. Samantha and Marianna have worked hard sourcing exceptional produce, some of which is not yet available in London.
We have concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.
Could be better, service very laissez-faire.
Very good time. The food is absolutely fabulous, every dish makes you discover some new tastes. Lovely place
Great food and staff
Lovely service, with a great atmosphere. Perfect choice for a special occasion. Waitress was very accommodating explaining all vegan options available, and informing our party of vegan Monday coming up which we are sure to attend!
All around excellent! Atmosphere trendy but not over the top and it’s buzzy but not too loud. Food and wine delicious. Service was quick and our waiter helped us pick just the right wine. Perfect place for a date!
Excellent service, food mostly good but lamb chops disappointing (chewy and over spiced), cocktails not great either but perhaps we chose badly. Decor and ambience really great, if a bit noisy.
Morito Hackney's usually lovely, or at least a safe bet. Sadly, on this evening the staff were dismissive and brusque. When my dinner-mate was served an overly oily dessert, and simply asked about its recipe and methodology, she was met with an impatient and rude tone. Overall, staff weren't very attentive and we struggled to catch their eye to ask for our bill and to order our food. Worst of all, the menu itself seems to have slumped, featuring dishes like patatas bravas and aioli, inching away from Morito's North African roots on its seasonal menus a couple of years ago.
Really nice setting, food, relaxed and helpful service!
Delicious food. Our waiter was lovely and able to give good recommendations from the menu
The food is a party of flavors – every dish is so special. And the staff, just lovely. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was excellent but we were asked to leave the table after two hours without being offered the dessert menu and told we don’t have enough time to eat dessert. We weren’t told that at the beginning and it felt like we were being kicked out. Very disappointed in that aspect of the service.
The food really is so good here! The only part of our meal that wasn’t 5 star were the Pattaya’s braves which weren’t crispy. But other than that the food was stellar.
Lovely staff and great food would highly recommend.
Great food, accommodation of needs and house wine is great value. Thank you
Lovely food and great service. All five of us really enjoyed it.
It's not the cheapest, but certainly tasty enough!
Thanks very much
I LOVE that aubergine dish with pomegranate syrup.....
Without fail, the best food! ( and such a friendly, relaxed place). We usually rock up ( without booking) and sit at the bar. This was the first time I'd taken my ( pescatarian) parents and they can't wait to go again,..haven't had that reaction to any of the michelin/ famously reviewed / "hot new places" I've taken them to anywhere in London. ( if you like Barafina, or Ottolenghi? You will love Morito).
Really love Morito, the food is exquisite, service is great and the ambience is buzzing. One of my favourites.
Amazing service and atmosphere. Squid was far too chewy though, we were sad about that! Everything else tasty, and such brilliant and attentive staff in cool surroundings
Great food and service. At 2pm on a Friday only 3 tables occupied so the ambience was lacking somewhat.
2 shared 5 small plates, half a carafe of wine, 1 orange juice and 2 coffees. Bill came to £87.75 inc service. A little on the steep side.
Thank you for your hospitality. I had a wonderful birthday at Morito in Hackney. The wine was delicious, the lamb chops, olives and vegetable dishes were incredible. I wasn't overly blown away by the ceviche, but eveything else made up for it. The service was great and all staff were friendly. the restaurant was clean and a nice atmosphere. Price was good for the amount/quality . :)
First time for a friend and she loved it. Three new hits in one meal. Always good when your friends like your faves and Morito is in my top two at the moment.
Great food, great wine list and great atmosphere my only criticism is that the portions can be very small for the price
Fantastic experience - great tasting food!! We wouldn’t have missed it - made our trip to London a memorable one!!!
Wonderful warm atmosphere on a cold day. Delicious food and fantastic service. Can’t wait to go back!
Morito is a treasure!
Just so enjoyable at every level.
Food is amazing !
Love this place as the food never disappoints and is just so tasty!
AmaZing! Would definitely recommend
Amazing food, super warm setting. Staff were friendly and the food came out in good time. Very pleased with how tasty our meal was
Have been a regular here since it opened but this last visit was a huge disappointment. No service whatsoever for the first 40 minutes (so it was 50+ mins after arrival before we got our first drinks), and again, no service at the end of the meal. The restaurant was all but empty and we had to virtually jump on a table to get someone to give us the bill.
In between there were unwelcome tweaks to listed cocktails (replacements took an age to arrive) and haphazard delivery of the set menu (the first dish arrived quite some time after ordering and successive courses arrived before the starters were eaten). Felt like a restaurant in it's teething phase rather than an established institution. The lamb was overdone and at nearly £70 a head I don't think it was a great experience (there were 5 of us) . The food is usually very good so will dine again, but if the wait staff don't step it up will happily find out other places to frequent.
Morito's is simply a great dining spot. Great atmosphere, food and service.
Incredible as always, my favourite restaurant in London!
Always amazing - for the price, I have never eaten better than this!
Amazing attentive service. Lovely chilled atmosphere. Incredible food that I will be going back for. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Outstanding every time, always with new and interesting, tasty dishes......
The food was way too fat.
Great food, great service. This place is always busy, usually hard to get a table and I can see why, their food is impressive and I don’t say that often. A really great experience for dinner, not to be missed.
Loved eating here- the only small problem that was there weren't a lot of Vegan options on the menu.
Great food but I do find every time the bill is always quite a bit more than you feel it should be.
Waiters are very nice but on this trip waitress had a habit of interrupting at the crux of every conversation which was quite annoying.
The food is not just cooked but subject to some alchemy.Don't think it can be done at home.Just by magic. And the cocktails....well some deal with the devil .but all worth it.
The food at Morito is always excellent. Many thanks!
