Moro was decent but not exceptional as many reviews suggested. We went on a Thursday evening with a friend from out of town. The restaurant had a good vibe, full of people and fortunately, no music! May I suggest some wall hanging to dampen the noise a bit though? The service was slow but understandable on a busy night. The wait staff were friendly and helpful (particularly with the wine choice).
We had the cuttlefish and the Moroccan bread salad as starters. The cuttlefish was good, the Moroccan bread starter was merely adequate. Our mains were wood-roast chicken, seabass and the vegetable mezze. You could tell the ingredients were reasonably fresh but the meals themselves lacked flavour. I expected more from a place which purports to have Moroccan influences. All in all, pretty decent but not a place I would make another trip to.
Reliable as always. Moro's formula works. First courses are creative, mains well garnished grills, desserts reliable if not exciting. It's worked for over twenty years. May it continue.
My favourite restaurant full stop. There’s always a great buzz about the place and the food is always fantastic.
Can’t wait to go back.
Our meal on Saturday was just the most delicious thing. So good and such a treat to be at Moro as ever.
Device was great but the menu over promises! At £27 for a main of lamb with chick peas I would have expected something pretty decent but the plate that arrived was skimpy on the (well cooked) lamb... and everything else was just mush! Our starter of asparagus in a salted almond sauce looked pretty revolting. The asparagus was over cooked and the sauce fairly tasteless and looked like sick. Such a shame, this place used to be well priced and offer sharing plates and some tapas as well as mains. Now it is overpriced and uninspiring.... but service was good and we made sure despite the high prices it was rewarded!
Proper food cooked properly with a proper understanding of origins and ingredients. Moro continues to deliver confident delicious food without any interest in resorting to gimmicks or fashion.
Love Moro, made so very welcome, explaining it was my birthday and my guests had cancelled last minute due to ill -health. I was given a wonderful predinner drink and the table next to me gave me their flowers!!
Great Moorish inspired Spanish food in a great space with a friendly vibe.
I have been eating At Moro for over 20 years, and this was a really disappointing visit. The prices are now in the stratosphere, and sadly, the food just did not justify the price. my partner had falafels as a starter and 1 small, dry falafel and some leaves do not justify an £8 price tag. The lamb main course that was served was a real mess- some overly rare lamb (that had not been left to stand so there were bloody juices all over the plate) with pureed fava bean gloop and another type of gloop plus some green beans in tomato sauce- it needed proper vegetables or a pulse dish accompaniment. the flavours clashed and it was more like lamb with soup! This could not justify the £26 priced. I had the vegetable mezzo which was sizeable, was comprised of far too many dips and lacked any real susbstance. Overall the quality of the food and the rather strange accompaniments plus the astronomical prices mean that Moro is no longer worth the trek to Clerkenwell. It's living on its past reputation and lacks the input of the two Sams. Avoid and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere
The restaurant is quite casual which was great. Our waitress was very helpful. The food was fantastic, we were expecting tapas but this was for the bar only. Everything we chose was so tasty. We would definitely go back. Thanks for a great night.
Loved the food!!!!! Wine selection was superb - Seth and I chose the half bottles, which was great, given that one of us was eating meat and the other fish. I loved my skate :) Looking forward to coming again!!
Excellent food and flavours, fabulous service, a very pleasant experience
We had a lovely evening - great buzzy atmosphere and super tasty food. We will visit again!
I was so looking forward to trying Moro after reading and hearing such good things. Could not have been more disappointed with the food. Salty, over cooked and some things just weird. Also overpriced. Really wont be going back and definitely won’t be recommending.
Always mind blowing. Food, service, atmosphere - impeccable. You literally can’t go wrong here. Sumptuous, unforgettable food, staff relaxed yet superb, vibey yet special atmosphere, intimate yet casual. Really, Moro is truly an institution of excellence. And does it all with style.
I always make a point of eating at Moro when I visit London and am never disappointed (although this lunchtime it was very quiet, I think that was because it was the day after a Bank Holiday - I missed the usual buzz).
Fabulous food! Excellent every time we go here!
Moro is a wonderful restaurant and I love coming here. The food always tastes wonderful. However on this occasion I chose mussels as a starter and I got a really unpleasant stomach bug the next day as a result. My daughter also had one of my mussels and was also affected though not as severely. Everything else was perfect, and we all had a lovely evening.
We had lovely time
Really delicious but portions a little too big for mains and puddings.
Great service - they moved us to a bigger table with no fuss, and were tactful and smart about when not to interrupt as it was a business lunch. The food was great and the drinks were delicious.
Good food, lovely olive oil, lovely sherry and Malaga raisons.
Beautiful, Fresh, Delicious Food, thankyou! Perfect from start to finish!
A thoroughly enjoyable meal could not be faulted other than sourdough bread would have been desirable over the bread which was served
Lovely food and service as always. Never the same menu. Falafel was delicious
Really excellent food and good atmosphere - third visit and will return again
Great food but not much space and very noisy - just to be aware. The food trumps the noise though!
The main course vegetarian platter was quite delicious and the only problem was fighting off my fellow diners who kept pinching my side order of fried potatoes
Always delivers, not the cheapest but defintely worth it generally. Food is always good, the raisin ice cream is to die for.
I ordered a dessert with a glass of alcohol. But when I paid they charged me a bottle of alcohol which is 40£. I realized it when my friend checked the bill. Actually when I paid I felt the bill is more expensive than I expected but I didn’t say it. As a waitress before giving customers the bills you should check the bill. When I knew there is something wrong with the bill I went back to that restaurant and told them the problem. They said sorry to me and refunded the wrong charge but they didn’t refund all of them. They just refunded the money of the drink but ignored the service charge which should be 3£. I think probably they know everything but they just want to earn more money when they see an Asian face. They are not new and should know the rules clearly but when it was possible they decided to blend the rules to earn more money. That’s not decent.
Moro was one of the best spots we visited in London! A nice break from all the bustle, we went on the early side and it wasn't too busy. The food was outstanding, service friendly, helpful and accommodating, atmosphere quite nice and relaxed. All around lovely, not something I'd do every day but as a slight splurge, absolutely perfect. I'd come again for sure.
Delicious food, exquisite tastes, and brilliant service.
Fabulous well constructed & balanced menu - as always I’m never disappointed with anything I order - just love it here
Superb variety of different flavours made this a fine family dining experience. A lively buzz on a Friday night enhanced a delicious meal and I would recommend Moro without hesitation.
great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service, great food, great service,
Moro is always good, and lovely geature of our waitress to let us taste the other dessert, the one we did not have space for after a fantastic meal but managed to finish anyway!
Since Sam & Sam Clark started Moro we have been following them: buying their books and making their recipes. We love their way of cooking.
The lunch we had at Moro fully filled our expectations. The food was delicious, the ambiance was nice, casual and the personnel very friendly. Alas we do not live in the neighborhood but we would love to eat there regularly.
Our first time, and a truly enjoyable experience. The food was marvellous, with many new and marvellous tastes. Drinks excellent too, if a tad on the pricy side (although it is London....). Love the area, the service was great and can’t wait to return. Leigh and Judith Griffin
Service was very poor given the 12.5% service charge automatically applied. The food was good, but tricky to justify the fine dining costs associated.
